He has a horrible, goofy look that isn't possible to take seriously, he's terrible on the mic and he follows WWE's main event babyface formula to a T, ie, take ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and NO ONE seriously, ever, at any time, regardless of whether they're a proven star or not, just stand there and laugh at them like an idiot, and crack stupid, childish jokes tailored specifically for 8 year olds. This is why feuds don't draw anymore, the babyfaces absolutely refuse to sell their opponents. Sheamus is one of the worst offenders. Him standing there cracking jokes when he's right next to his world title opponent, a 7 foot, 400+ lb giant who's won world titles on every brand he's been on was absolutely cringeworthy and kills any interest in the program.

I'm not gonna say he wins all the time, because if it wasn't him, it would just be somebody else, but he certainly doesn't deserve that booking and such a lackluster talent getting booked in that fashion only serves to anger people.

Absolutely nailed it right there. Sheamus is the epitome of fast forward material. Other than the points above, he has all the hallmarks of a HHH 'coolest frat guy in the room' character build too which I simply cannot fucking stand; stealing cars, no selling your opponent and taking absolutely nothing seriously.

With any luck he'll be offered some bad film roles and disappear up his own arse and far away from a wrestling ring sometime soon.

Unstoppable monster face does nothing for me unless the attitude is correct. Goldberg is the perfect example of this. Fucking LOVE that guy. Joking 13 year old attitude of making fun of people with no attitude to back it up i.e. Sheamus does nothing for me.

That being said, oddly enough, I'm a huge mark for The Rock. His style of making fun of people works for me, for whatever reason. Sheamus just bores me.

Rock actually took his opponents seriously, that's the difference. He would make fun of them, but at the end of the promo, he would get serious and angry. That sells PPV's, that draws ratings, feuds that have heat and tension behind them. When Rock fought Austin, Triple H, Undertaker, he didn't brush them off like they were nothing. These idiots like Cena and Sheamus just stand there with a shit eating grin on their face making jokes tailored to 7 year olds. I can't believe today's babyfaces, honestly. That debate was so stupid. He's fighting Big Show, and he's completely no selling EVERYTHING from a multiple time world champion giant.

On top of what's already been said, I think it's because he's a prime example of what the 'company' wants and not what the fans want.

Wrestlemania 28 was a very significant night. Sheamus won the Rumble and became the first guy to successfully challenge the world champion at Wrestlemania in 5 years. But it wasn't some epic encounter at all. It was an 18-second opener. For the World fucking championship. And he beat an indy darling - who was also getting over naturally on his own merits - to do it.

That was the definition of a forcefed, manufactured push to try and get him over. Instead the fans chanted 'bullshit!' and spat it back in WWE's face.

Sheamus hasn't recovered since. That whole turn of events has left a sour taste in fans' mouths which won't go away for some time. WWE thought that would give him even more momentum but all it really did was fucking kill anything he had going for him.

Fella`is great. there`s lots of reasons why people may hate him : corny jokes, the smile, probably he is too much Cena like. Personally fella makes me laugh and keeps me entertained.

As Tyrion said, him taking nothing seriously hurts him a lot. He does posess some charisma, he's technically sound, his selling is awful mind.

A prime example of creating tension and building a feud that people care about is the Punk/Cena/Vince contract negotiation from last year. When Punk was talking about being the underdog and comparing Cena to the Yankee's, Cena sold that perfectly and it was an awesome send off going into MiTB.

At this moment in time, we're just not going to get anything like that with Sheamus.

Hes not close to being as good as being portrayed. He and Ryback are the two biggest examples of Vince and HHH dictating where this business is gonna go and who's going to be on top. Sad thing is enough fans are buying into it. This is all proof that Vince can choose whoever he wants and make him a top guy, whether they are qualified or not.

You can say what you want about Cena but at least he got over on his own and has proven to be a fantastic performer for so many years. Cena was over for two years, on the B show by the way, before Vince got behind 100 percent and eleavted him above his other failed project, Orton.

He's just not entertaining. Not one point in his career did I ever want him to win, which isn't good for a face. Not compelling at all on the mic and his matches are already stale and repetitive. He doesn't ever sell and he's getting a massive push which I feel he doesn't deserve. Even my girlfriend said "I don't see why people like this guy" and she is as casual as a fan can be.

Because Sheamus is just not entertaining. Everything he does is just bland and I just can't get myself to get behind him.

The reason I can't stand him is his character is so stale. All the things that made him unique have been taken away during this title run to turn him into some lame joke making Cena spin off. I agree with people that say he was better as a heel because he actually had a character. But even when he was a face building up to his world title win he had more depth than he does now. He at least still had a bit of an edge. Now he is just more of the same old crap that we've been seeing with Cena for the past 8 years. People probably would like him if he had his own character instead of being some joke making, possible racist.

Oh god, where to start?

First of all, his babyface character is absolutely unbearable and completely unlikeable which is the exact opposite qualities you want in a top face. He makes bad jokes, abuses heels even when unprovoked and is just too goofy to be taken seriously.

The second reason is that his matches are incredibly predictable and he's booked in the typical SUPERMAN fashion like we've seen from HHH and Cena over the years. Even on the rare occasion he does lose, it'll be by DQ or something screwy and he'll either cut a promo or hit the Brogue on the guy. Basically he always has to be standing tall, somehow.

Thirdly he's just not a very good performer at all. He's cringeworthy on the mic to the point I try to avoid every segment he's involved in and in his matches he nearly always has to be carried because he gets tired really quickly.

Last of all, he's been handed WWE and World Titles on a plate almost immediately just because of who he works out with and everyone knows it. So add in that, his awful character, his superman booking and his average-at-best talent and you have a formula for a guy that I can't imagine ANYONE liking.

^this, the guy turned into a comedy act, much worse than cena given the fact that he can't deliver good face promos even if his life depended on it, he lost so much steam and so much intensity since his WM win, which btw was completely awful and that was the point he went completely downhill, beating Bryan in 18 seconds made people despise him so much because it was obvious he was the "teacher's pet", HHH favorite whore that HHH himself made bryan lose all credibility against him

fortunately that just shows how bad of a worker is Sheamus in comparison with bryan, Bryan escalated quickly into the most loved and over character because he made the "hate" work in his favor while sheamus quickly became one of the most despise because he couldn't make the "good" work at all

I loved Sheamus before he turned into what he has become. My hate isn't of the guy portraying the character... not at all. He's just doing what he's told. That being said, I don't have to like or enjoy what they have turned him into simply because I like the guy he used to be. This character is the epitome of boring and predictable to me.

when he was heel and first 8 months as a face, I don't remember this much hate toward the guy. The 18 second beat-down at Bryan at Wrestlemania might have the people turn on him. Its like that AJ girl, nobody said a bad word about her when she was on NXT and Smackdown. After she was dumped by Bryan and went bananas, all hell broke loose.

I'll put my Sheamus "hate" on this..I was ready for a Sheamus reign. I was ready for dominance. What I wasn't ready for was the bullshit that came with WM. I don't know about others, but I paid to see Bryan and Sheamus almost as much as The Rock and Cena. When the match happened the way it did, knowing what we could have saw, just ruined how I felt about the Sheamus character, even after the fact. I think Sheamus is good, and will get better, but just like the US government, there is nothing we can do about how we feel about this. He isn't entertaining...Really, if this is what is left, then I'm scared where wrestling will go..

He's booked as superman, sucks on the mic. And owes a large part of his success to being HHH's workout buddy.
