I was asking myself, why this AWFUL mic worker is World Champion and the answer is .. He is the only new big guy since 2009 and Vince had no chance of choosing someone else.

Enter The Ryback...

I'm sick of Sheamus as champ but the guy is better than most people on here give him credit for. He isn't a great mic worker but he isn't horrible either. He did a good job this past Smackdown. He good in-ring too. He's had plenty of good PPV matches this year and some really good TV matches against Tensai & Sandow. That being said I have no doubts he has benefited from being buddies with HHH.

Just because I hate him, I'll try to be nice and list why he's champ.

- He's got a unique look and has size.
- He's capable in the ring, with a fan-friendly moveset (even if he tires after 5 minutes)
- He seems to love what he does, and makes 'celeb' appearances too, so he's marketable in the 'real world'
- Plays his political cards right

Worst guy in the roster, I'd rather see Khali as champion ag-

Ok, maybe not that far. Just get the fucking belt off him please, or turn heel again when he was actually enjoyable.

I know I'm being repetitive, but all of this is because of his change of character. When CM Punk was a joking face who wasn't actually funny, people criticized that too.

There are guys that can portay the "Smiling lovable" faces. Guys like Rey Mysterio or Big Show. But when we are talking about Punk or Sheamus, that's a crime. Why do they book their top faces that way? We have been badass top faces as Undertaker, Triple H or even Orton right now, so it can't be that they don't know how to book a barbaric face.

For me that's a headache because I'm a huge fan of Sheamus and his Celtic Warrior persona(he created it for himself) and even before his victory at the Royal Rumble I smelt they were going to ruin his character and turn him into a tasteless, generic smiling face.

I know there are guys have never liked Sheamus, but I think the difference beetween the "general opinion" the second half of 2010 and 2011 about Sheamus has changed drastically. He used to be seen as a great performer, with personality, charisma and attitude.

Why did they ruin him??

He's not the only big guy since 2009, and that has little to do with it regardless. Who gets pushed on size anymore? Other than RyBack, because he simply has no other qualities, I can't think of one example. He's Triple H's workout partner, that's why he's been in WWE for 3 years and has absolutely nothing left to do, he's accomplished damn near everything, while people who've been here for 10 to 15 have hardly anything to show for themselves. It's pathetic.

1. He has a decent look and size.
2. He is very marketable and promotes the WWE well.
3. He is very over with the kids and casuals.
4. He has a unique moveset.
5. Consistantly puts on good matches with most of the wrestlers he works with (Despite always having predictable endings).
6. He is workout buddies with Triple H.

It's a no brainer, if I was a business man i'd have him as one of my top guys also, I would just book him a bit better and not have him win every single match. I'm not sure how much of a draw he actually is but i'd say he is the biggest draw next to Cena considering how many kids watch WWE next to adult males.

the Sheamus hate is getting worst than the Cena hate.

The guy is talented, has charisma, has the look of the champion, and being a friend of Triple H doesn't hurt.

i am finding shamus is becoming stale as champion, I dont mind him as a quick champion but not this long of a run, I think SD could easily survive with someone else as champion, I know the viper is off shooting a movie, but i think he would be great, I am kinda hoping Show knocks him out and gets a small run with it, i got a soft spot for show

Lol, dude is the perfect size and has the most unique look in the company. Also, being decent in the ring contributes positively to the overall package.

Looking like a corpse with red spiked hair is not a good look. That's not main event, that's the type of guy you throw into comedy skits. There's plenty of people who have the same size as him too.

Being decent is not a good reason to push someone.

Why is it SO hard to accept Triple H politicked for him? I don't get it. You don't even have to think it's wrong, just acknowledge the facts. People just don't get pushed THIS hard naturally, regardless of how good they are, unless they're over to a level that Sheamus couldn't even dream of. Forget it, it doesn't happen. This is booking you give to somebody with the status of The Undertaker, not the secondary champion.

I'm glad I found this thread because I've been wondering why he's even pushed in the first place.

I'll admit I don't watch much WWE but from what I've seen he's very generic in the ring also he's incredibly goofy looking, looking like some CAW I would have created in WWF No Mercy when it came out.

The real question is, when this motherfucker gonna start to draw?...he has one of the most colossal push in the bussines and he doesn't draw shit, some months ago at least he was somewhat over but that started to fade even Ryback that made a push of almost only squashing jobbers is more over than him.
