well I think he will lose the wwe title to cena, may win it again before the year ends, but next year he will lose the title to the rock at royal, and he will be out of the main events i guaranteed that, orton need to be the wwe champion again, the ratings speaks for herselfes,

I want to say I read somewhere he actually intends to be done with WWE period after he loses the title, but I'm not entirely sure how accurate that is. If it was even something he said at all.

It's a very real possibility. Once he is out of the title picture, unless they have something planned that will give him spotlight over Cena (yeah right lol), he runs the risk of becoming Miz. I'd personally hate to see that happen. WWE needs all the top level talent they can get right now. Letting Punk drop off the radar when he loses the belt would be awful.

Well. If you think about it Punk has been going on second last, as champion. Cena will most likely be the next Champion, or feuding with the next Champion(Rock) if Punk retains. So with the title on Cena, in the main event, Punk may keep his current card position. This is just mean hoping of course, due to being a mark. But he could easily slide away.

He only ever main-evented above Cena with Triple H as his opponent. No chance of that happening now. As for dropping off the radar, it has a chance of happening, sadly.

Nothing will change if he loses the title to Cena. Cena's program will be the biggest no matter who he faces and whatever Punk is in will be the second biggest. However Punk isn't going back to the mid-card.

The troll is strong in this one.

Of course he will. WWE's trying to focus on what they think will be "the next big thing". They tried Miz, Orton, Barett, and Punk. For one reason or another, none of them worked out. So yes, Punk will be out of the spotlight, and will probably be below Orton in terms of booking and status, since Orton (for some reason) is super over right now.

That's how the business works, really. It'll be interesting to see WWE's next experiment once Punk's out of the picture.

There is when you're WWE Champion but WWE have done a pretty good job of making wins/losses & titles not matter, so I guess it's a moot point.

I could go off on a rant about how having two world champions & a Smackdown "brand" is bad but I think it would be a waste of energy. Needless to say, WWE is in full-on don't-give-a-fuck mode & they're straight-up coasting. It doesn't even matter, either. Put out a mediocre product, half-ass your way through the entire year & still get the most buys for a 'Mania ever by slapping The Rock in main event.

Sucks for the fans that watch any non-Wrestlemania WWE show, especially the weekly regulars.

After being main eventer is strange to be back at the midcarder status

Unless he retains the title until Wrestlemania and beats The Undertaker in Wrestlemania for the title he will go to the mid card. Face it: doesn't have the right look, is the wwe champ and is only half time Main Eventer, there's a lot of Main Event material in WWE whom haven't got the push yet, WWE needs to refresh from time to time... It will be like The Miz, but he will come back to Main Event after a while, maybe right before he retires...

Depends on your definition of "midcarder." To some, anyone not currently main-eventing is a midcarder. To others, you can be a main-eventer and work the midcard or whatever you wish to call it while John Cena stays at the top doing whatever he's doing.

I can't see him literally vying for a midcard strap again once he's done working with John Cena again and The Rock for The Royal Rumble. He's going to be a "name" for the rest of his career regardless of card positioning.

What has been damaged, though, is the WWE Championship, and that attrition of prestige hit its nadir this week with Cena's narcissistic character, who is, humorously, beloved by the majority of WWE's fans, saying that the WWE Championship is irrelevant so long as it remains outside of his particular orbit. Which, in essence, is what he said.

Punk's promo vs. Del Rio last fall was largely different in that it assailed Del Rio's character for being one-note and boring, but he did cross the line, too, with the remark that he would make the WWE Championship "interesting again," indicating that the championship was not interesting so long as Del Rio wore it.

Can't wait for the promos between Rock and Punk in January with Rock saying he's going to save the championship from tedium. "You come out here and run your mouth and say you're the Best in the World-uh, the Straight-uh Edge-uh Champion-uh..." Etceteras, etceteras. Hahaha.

Punk's going to be a big part of the show regardless. People act like anyone not feuding for the title is a midcarder. Going forward for the rest of his career. Punk will probably have a similar role to jericho, because they can make any angle interesting, but will be in the title scene more often. he will still be in WWE's top 5 singles guys

As much as WWE has invested in CM Punk, I highly doubt they will relegate him to obscurity. At best I see him carrying an upper midcard role, moreso heading into Wrestlemania since the top of the card will be so stacked. He'll fit comfortably into an occassional main event role ala Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, etc. I do think that losing the title (in addition to his alliance with Heyman) will give his character a needed boost.

Just want to say that there is nothing wrong with being in the midcard BTW, don't why people use that as an insult.

Its so obvious some of you really hate Punk lol. No way he will be stuck a midcarder. So he is the after Cena in popularity so move him to midcarder lol. Wwe already has issue building legit maineventers so they are just going to waste Punks talent in the midcard. Of course whatever he does will come 2nd to Cena which is sad. Cant wait to hear in the future how awful the talent is once Cena is gone. they could have had him end ppvs wiyh his MoTY contenders instead let Cena play with Ace or whatever he did. Punk will be up their with Cena until he retires. The cream rises to the top right:hhh

No he won't. This ain't 2010 Punk anymore. This is legit Punk now. Whether heel or face, Punk is a main eventer, even if he hasn't been treated as one for months. However, WWE will do their damndest the second that belt comes off to make him the number three behind Cena and Sheamus. Hell, maybe even behind Orton but unlikely right now. Either way, Punk will lose some status but not a whole lot to make him a midcarder.

How many people have talked up the lack of ratings during CM Punk's reign.
You do realise it takes more than 1 person to spike ratings? You have 2-3 hours of raw and Punk is on Raw for 15-25mins. Now if it was Punk on the screen for the full show then it would be his fault but he's not.

Do you think more people would watch Raw than before because he's champion? You see the same amount of CM Punk as you would if he wasn't champion. What difference does the title make?

Do you think ratings will spike if Cena wins the title? You'll still see the same amount of Cena on screen as you would now. Nothing changed by who holds the championship.

A good show of 3 hours = ratings
Good booking = ratings
Good angles = ratings
1 man appearing for 25mins= irrelevant
