I hope they learned from Punk's last couple heel runs that making him a cowardly heel does no one favors. If WWE honestly wants to build Punk as a Mega Heel, which they seem to be doing by giving him a program with The Great One, then they need to keep up this "I'll kick your ass!" Type of Punk they've been going with recently, and have him brawl with people in the ring instead of walking away.

Put it this way, back in the ruthless aggression era heel HHH would always be in the ring for promos and when people interupted him and challenged him to a brawl he would comply and proceed to remove his suit and brawl with the dude. Obvioudly in the end he would be knocked out of the ring because he's the heel, but at least he wasn't a coward.

Re: Is Punk not going to be a fighting champion anymore...?

It wasn't a cowardly heel act - he was making a statement against

1) a GM that has a vendetta against him

and

2) more importantly, making a statement against the fact that even AS CHAMPION, he was not in the main event but rather a throwaway match in the middle of the card that featured the company's two champs. This has been the crux of Punk's 'respect' argument all along, and he made this point clearly on Monday night.

Re: Is Punk not going to be a fighting champion anymore...?

If HULK HOGAN did it, if STONE COLD did it, Punk is going to do it. I'm sorry, but that's just part of the game. Yes, it's stupid how an attitude change just makes someone a coward out of the blue, or conversely, not a coward if it's a face turn, but that's wrestling.

And honestly, if Punk being heel means they're not going to throw matches away like WWE Champion vs World Heavyweight Champion, which Punk correctly described as NOTHING LESS than a WrestleMania main event, then I'm for it. I don't want the WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion facing each other in the middle of the show like they did when Punk and Bryan were holding the belts.

Episode 99 - Superhero Showdown Returns!

The much requested Superhero Showdown episode makes a return where we pit your favourite comic/movie/tv characters against each other to determine who's slighty better! Also we get into news of the new Civil War line-up, Star Wars The Force Awakens, Assassins Creed and undoubtably something else to do with whatever this podcast is about. Thanks for listening!

Re: Is Punk not going to be a fighting champion anymore...?

He might go that route inevitably but so far how has he been a coward? His reasoning for not doing the Sheamus match made entirely too much sense for his character. A coward doesn't have the choice to pick any opponent he wants to defend his title against and pick the biggest threat even if it was for a selfish reason. Only time he came off that way so far is him not wanting to do the 3 way with Show and Cena (though funny enough he actually hates doing 3 way matches in reality) but even then he said he wouldn't mind at all taking one of them on one on one.

Re: Is Punk not going to be a fighting champion anymore...?

I really never got it why Faces don't give up and heels are cowards. I mean a face is a good guy - There are cowards who are good guys. A Heel is a bad guy - there are bad guys who don't give up and aren't afraid.

And the worst is that heel turns change everything about the guy. When Punk was heel before the shoot he lost matches even though he cheated and when he turned face he became stronger and even if the opponent cheated Punk would still win. (The same goes to lots of wrestlers)

What's their logic?

This thread sums up why the internet has ruined wrestling. Instead of blaming Punk for being a coward, we're blaming creative. FFS. Nobody watches Breaking Bad and complains about Walt turning into an asshole

Seriously, how many topics are you going to make on how much Punk's heel turn sucks? I think that's been at least 5 where in one way or another, you have talked down the choice to turn him heel.
