Cena and his character are the only two things in the WWE that I have a conflict with. I can complain about how stale his character has been and how much I'd love to see a heel turn, but for some reason I can't even bash the character too much because of stuff like this. It seems like he throws enough of his own personal hustle, loyalty and respect into his character and it reflects in his work with charities like Make a Wish.
I can't say Cena sucks too much because it feels a little like I'm saying the man who made Dylan a happy boy during his final days sucks as well. Anybody can be John Cena the cheesy superhero, but not many can be John Cena the guy who does what he does away from the ring.
For as much flack as Cena gets... hes a good guy who knows his fame and fortune can do a lot of good for these sick children. Very unfortunate news. RIP
Clearly it has to do with Cena and wrestling since the WWE made the wish happen and Cena was one the kid wanted to see. I can put up with the wrestling ignorance and dumb posts around here, but seriously you need to GTFO.
If you didn't care as you said, you would have just clicked back instead of posting a stupid, ignorant and fucked up post. That kid battled cancer 4 different times and faced death at age 12 TWELVE he wasn't even a teenager. He had more courage and bigger guts than you'll ever dream of having. People like you really piss me off and if I didn't know better I would flame the fuck out of you ....you little cynical douche bag -_-
Cena is a true man and RIP to Dylan and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
And to anyone who "doesn't care" JUST MOVE ON and don't bother posting anything.
Very sad to hear. I might not like Cena as a wrestler, but I definitely respect him for his work outside the ring, especially this kind of things he does, makes me respect him a lot. Lots of respect for Cena as a person.
You know, stories like this always hurt me inside, especially a child so young. I had a friend who got diagnosed with lung cancer at age 12 but he managed to overcome. But there are so many who don't get that opportunity and eventhough I personally don't know the kid, I can't help but to get emotional from reading it.
I can't help but to think that Cena must have become attached to Dylan and he's got to be pretty devastated in hearing this.
While, I'm not the biggest fan of Cena out there. I do respect the man for what his does in and out of the ring though (work ethic wise inside the ring). Especially for what he does with the make-a-wish foundation. No person should ever have to lose their life at such a young age, especially to something as devastating as cancer. Those kids are brave souls for going through all they do. My thoughts and prayers are with Cena and Dylan's family.
I feel terrible about that kid, rest peacefully Dylan Christian. Cena meets a lot of kids and he's a hero to most of them, I'm not a Cena supporter but he takes time out to give kids a special moment, even a short one with their hero, and for that he deserves some appreciation. I'm glad Dylan got to meet him before he left, I'm sure it meant a lot to him.
That was tough to read. R.I.P. big guy. I hope Cena is doing ok and he is a true hero for doing that. It's not fair. He didn't deserve that cancer. His one life he has, it's gone just like that. How awful. May he R.I.P.
Cena is the fucking man no matter how much I try to discount the WWE and wrestling overall since about 2005. Deep down I feel like he does these things because he wants to, unlike so many other athletes and superstars. Much respect to Cena first off for giving a shit, and second -- it's always sad to hear about deaths. Prayers to the family and anyone who cared for the kid.
And some of you question the reason's of why John Cena shouldn't turn heel.
It's stuff like the Make-A-Wish Foundation that makes Cena a face, makes him enjoy his career. Kids look up to him as a hero, he has the most wishes in the MAW Foundation ever. It's stuff like the MAW Foundation that makes me proud to be a fan of John Cena the person, but also as a professional wrestler.
It's sad to see someone have to lose their life so early before they are able to fully live it. Rest in Peace Dylan, I hope your in a better place now.
This. As much as I'd like for Cena to turn heel I know that it's the reason he probably won't. This is what I've always been telling people who are saying that Cena surely knows that people hate him and that he surely wants to turn heel but WWE doesn't let him. Cena loves being a face, he knows that older fans hate him, but all kids look up to him as their hero and this is probably one of the greatest feelings for him. He surely wouldn't trade all this for being a heel and turn on all the kids. He's really a great man outside the WWE. And it's not that he's better because he gets more requests for these things than other WWE wrestlers. He just dedicates all his life to this, he spends so much time working for all these charities and foundations, other superstars don't do it because they don't care that much. And even though I'm sick of his gimmick, Cena as a person is really a great man, and a true inspiration. Honestly, I respect him more than all other WWE superstars because of his dedication.
