The MVP of the Smackdown Elimination Chamber

Was this man. Wade Barrett.

From start to (almost) finish he carried the match. This is coming from me who is by no means a fan of Barrett OR his ring work. I was pleasantly surprised about halfway through the match when I sat back and realised "Wow... He is actually doing a great job!" and I continued to follow him throughout the match. He led and controlled the pace well, was the center of a lot of the action and served his purpose well.

The commentators also made a point of noting how long he lasted in the match as well. I wasn't expecting much from the match and it did start slowly but when you give someone like Barrett a guy like the Big Show to work with (bleh) you can't expect much.

Did anyone else notice this? I thought he and Rhodes were by far the standouts for me. Santino spent a lot of time snoozing (similar to the Miz in the first match) and Bryan wasn't in for long enough to really put his stamp on the match.

I think the WWE is gradually rebuilding their faith in Barrett, tonight definitely showed it for me. Being pinned by Santino is nothing to be ashamed of as Santino was the WWE underdog fairytale and both Rhodes and Barrett did a great job of getting that over.

My only question is what's next for him? A win at Wrestlemania this year would be great for him and would definitely set him up for a great year (with no doubt at least one world title reign in it).

I don't recall seeing Barrett walk out of the Chamber as the new WHC...so because of that it was another WWE creative FAIL.

Avid WWE fan since 1990.

Agreed, I already knew Wade was talented though. A lot of people wanna shit on his ring style, but they gotta remember it's more brawler type considering his background and build and he showed that very well tonight. I thought he did fantastic and I was rooting for him to be one of the final two, maybe even win.

Cody did great too, definitely woke the crowd up.

I will give him credit, the match IMO got off to a boring start, but picked up by the end. Wade was brutal in the match towards the end. Although I will give credit to everyone for making the match something even with the people involved.

Nah, MVP was Santino.

Barrett did great too. I think he will be in the MITB at mania, and probably win it.

I will agree as Wade held the match together that night. Santino and Bryan didn't get to shine til the last 4 minutes of the match.

I gotta say I was impressed by him at EC. However, getting pinned by Santino isn't gonna do wonders for his credibility.

Re: The MVP of the Smackdown Elimination Chamber

I have to agree with everything you said. Barrett did a great job from start to finish. I would say he edges out Bryan by a little bit, but Bryan's facial reactions shouldn't go unnoticed either. From fear and being cowardly to cocky and confident, Bryan changed emotions very well. Going from coward with Big Show to confident against Santino was a great change in his character in the match. WWE should also get credit for having Santino in there on short notice and giving him a great underdog story for the match.

So my MVPs are: 1. Barrett 2. Bryan 3. Santino

Bears - Bulls - Braves - Blackhawks - Bulldogs - America
