I have been out of the wrestling scene for a while but started watching again late 2009, I also went back and watched all the 2008 & 2009 PPV. I started coming on here and people are always going on about Kofi Kingston and how he should be World Champ. I have seen nothing to suggest he should be IC champ, let alone World Champ. He lacks charisma, can;t talk on the mic and he is extremely boring. I also think he is really bad in the ring, always bodging moves even against people like Ziggler & Swagger who are great wrestlers.
So I'm not trolling but I'm just interested to understand why people like him and believe he should be a World Champ?
This thread was obviously created as a response to the "Ziggler getting a push before Kofi" thread.
Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I like Kofi's energy and presence. The guy has an air of excitement about him. Add that to his natural charisma, and you've got a package that a lot of faces would kill for (JoMo, for example). I also liked his early Jamaican persona (I'm part Jamaican), I have no idea why they dropped that.
I hate that fucker. He's shit in the ring, all he does is jump really high and throw fake and gay looking kicks and fucking chops. He really pisses me off everytime I fcuking see his ugly face. He sucks ass on the mic too

I will spam this forum to get my point to the uneducated. He is NOT sloppy. Everything else I will not respond to as it'd just be an insult. The point stands, he is far from sloppy in the ring. You're wrong, etc and so forth.
I used to be really indifferent to Dolph Ziggler, but he is a great in ring talent. He doesn't have much charisma, and he probably never will because that's something that is hard to gain.
He can, however, improve his mic skills. For that, he needs to be allowed more practice and for that he needs to be allowed to talk more than Guerrero. She can do the introductions for him to build up heat, and then Dolph needs to do the majority of the talking. He also needs to say more things to gain heat, because he doesn't really. Basically, I don't think he is totally useless - and I have more interest in him ultimately than Kofi, but that is primarily because WWE has shown that they are more likely to make Ziggler a relevant main event player.
Kofi should be pushed to the main event though, because he is also great in the ring, has natural charisma and when given the chance he can do okay on the mic (better than Ziggler currently.) The problem with Kofi is that he hasn't done enough, minus the feud with Orton over a year ago, to show that he is credible in that mix. The moment WWE show me that he is, then I will care about him more.
For me he is fun to watch, over as hell, has a tonne of charisma and is better on the Mic than say Ziggler.
And before the Ziggler marks get all wound up, imagine Ziggler without Vickie, his promo's were generic as hell before and does anyone remember the promo Ziggler had on a PPV with Flair, it was embarassing.
Not sure why people are bringing Ziggler into it, Ziggler is much better then Kofi...
Kofi Kingston is awful, I just watched smackdown and the guy is poor, he looks very sloppy in the ring which as we all know has been noticed by Randy Orton he WILL never be a main eventer and he WILL never win the world title. As for me being a troll....just cause someone don't like your beloved Kofi doesn't mean I'm a troll douche.
Also to the guy saying I just seen a bit of Kofi, I been watching him for a year now and he is awful on the mic, he is bland and to be honest we all know the reason WWE keep him around.
Couldn't agree more, in fact I'd say that people that call you a mark because you don't share their opinion are in fact marks trying to deflect people away from them
Kofi's alright, not one of my favourite wrestlers, but I have nothing against him either, the matches between him and Dolph were really starting to get stale though.

lol, the IWC love this word. Each match was different and they were fun to watch. To be bored of a feud because it has gone on for too long is different to 'matches becoming stale.' How can they when pretty much every match ever is totally different from every other match.
Kofis main problem is he has no gimmick really he is billid from a place he clearly isnt from and WWE clearlyhas no faith in his talking ability as he barely says anything WWE needs to move his character on or this is the highest height he will reach in WWE .
All I'm gonna say is this..Kofi Kingston was comically over tonight and he's only a midcarder while they got a guy like Morrison getting title shots on Raw. If there's one thing that tonight proved, it's that Kofi is VERY OVER with kids.
I can't see the point on hating the man though. He is good worker. Ok on the mic. His gimmick or rather lack of it is stupid. Bad entrance and ufcourse the horrible promotion of his "Leaping Ability". Nothing against him. He needs a good gimmick and he is good to go. He was improving feuding with Orton but he has gone bit downhill since then... Also to Thrillerr about Orton. Orton has proven himself over and over and over. True they are wasting his full capability at the moment but wouldn't you say face Orton with someone to fight is better than heel Orton with noone to compete with?
has a unique look
is very over with kids and adults - he has same fans of mysterio imo
very exciting in the ring
has good to great matches weekly
good on the mic
also his boo boo boo hand slap SOS hype is the new Sweet chin music foot stomp
I was never too wild about Kofi, but the fact of the matter is he's -- to say the least -- exciting and skillful in the ring. Polished? Some may argue no. But his mic skills are surprisingly manageable. For those who say otherwise: compare him to Otunga; compare him to Shelton Benjamin; compare him to -- blech -- Rey Mysterio; Compare him to any of those three and you'll soon learn a grave appreciation for Kofi's mic skills. All he really needs is a bit of good writing, and to find out his own style on the mic.
I remember when Batista started out, he was painful to watch. I didn't want to see that big roided up thing talk! But as time progressed, he found his niche on the mic, and he slowly became one of my favorites to listen to (face or heel). Again, Kofi isn't one of my favorites. I actually hate the guy. But I cannot deny his talent. Give the guy a chance!
People like Kofi b/c he great in ring, good on the mic, and has natural charisma. To compare him to Ziggler and say he is worse is just stupid, it can be your opinion, but it's still stupid and nothing can change that. Ziggler lacks charisma and his mic skills aren't good either. Plus he sounds like a pre-pubescent little boy and looks like a Billy Gunn/Mr. Perfect mix. That said Ziggler is talented, but Kofi's one of the best in the 'E today.
...Yeh, Christian. Most others are pretty hated. Although strangely John Cena has started to pick up a lot of support over the last year, there isn't nearly as much hate for him. People don't generally hate majorly on Edge as a face either...that might just be because of the relief he brought when he took the world title from Kane though...
doesn't have to be a "hive mind", per say, but it's pretty accurate to say that the majority of people here don't like faces. It's very evident, hence why when heels mostly win, supposedly it's a good ppv, especially the TNA, and when faces when, it's "dummed down for kids."
