Now that "Dashing" Cody Rhodes has been relegated to jobber status on Smackdown after getting buried by the Big Show, I see Rhodes getting "future endeavored" by spring. He has been taken a back seat by the likes of Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, and Jack Swagger plus, Vince McMahon isn't very high on Dusty Rhodes' son. What do you think?

Wow, coming from what highly appears to be a DCR fan...

Come on Rachel, at least it wasn't a "legit" loss (it was a countout for crying out loud). Hopefully next week we get to see the result of this match with Dashing coming up on top. Like someone previously said, Big Show is in no position to go over people.

No way is Dashing Cody Rhodes a jobber. He has pretty much been winning non-stop these past few months. Getting puched by Big Show in a segment and then losing by countout in typical heel fashion is in no way a burial.

Swagger looked fine in his feud with Big Show, it's when they decided to give Rey Mysterio the most pointless title reign ever that he got fucked over.

I seriously don't understand the hate for Big Show. Long people complained that he wasn't being booked right as a proper giant, then this year he has been booked to perfection to the point where even if Cena beat him I would see it as a bit of an upset and people complain that he's too strong

You lost me there. I think you have mistaken him for Ted DiBiase. If anything, Cody has been booked quite strong since he moved to Smackdown, despite having lackluster tag team title reign with Drew and being quite directionless throughout 2010, he barely lost a match, he's successfully established his gimmick, and he has slowly gained good heat every week, not to mention he's still 25, there's no way they will release one of their future prospects. His feud with Big Show hasn't even finished yet...and nobody wins against Show these days anyway, Cody losing to him won't hurt him that much. Cody's time in the spotlight will come eventually, there's nothing to be worried about.

I see Cody competing on Superstars this week against maybe Chris Masters, JTG, or Trent Barreta. I don't see him competing on Smackdown due to the fact that Rey Mysterio faces Alberto Del Rio in a 2 out of 3 falls match and Edge taking on Kane for the World Heavyweight Championship. Add a Big Show & Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger tag team match plus a Divas match means that Rhodes will be lost in the shuffle. But there will be a grooming tip to make up for Rhodes not having a match on Smackdown this week.

Hmmm... this does seem like a typical way that the 'E does this sort of thing.
On the contrary, I can't see it. AT LEAST a promo or backstage segment or something. Because it'll be dumb to go a week without mentioning the Rhodes/Show feud, and then going back to it a week after.

But here's one thing that came to mind. If Rhodes does go over, where will he land? A chase to the IC Title? A Feud with Drew?

Ok...just no. Cody has been put in a feud with Big Show, who is a main eventer/upper mid carder. If anything (jobbing or not), it is a step forward for Cody. Like LegendaryBazinga said, that is the problem with feuding with Big Show - the opponent looks like shit after. Well...at least when Big Show is a face. But the fact remains the same: Cody is feuding with a main eventer/upper mid carder.

Honestly, I think Cody will end up eliminating Big Show in the Rumble in some fashion. WWE has obviously been happy with the way his "Dashing" gimmick has been going as he has been getting loads of TV time and he has been (up until this current feud with Big Show) being booked very strong for a heel. I believe there was a period there for a number of months where Cody was picking up clean pinfalls basically every week on Smackdown.

So OP, don't fret...and stay dashing!

Cody and Ted are just like Orton, because of their last names, WWE will never stop trying to put them over, they will continue until something sticks against the wall, like they did with Orton in 2007, after he spent most of 2006 completely lost in the shuffle. Cody and Ted for that matter are young and have many opportunities ahead of them, just a matter of time.

If you're a generational superstar, your last name will get you in the door and keep you employed. That dosen't mean you're going to become a main-eventer. DiBiase, for instance, cannot get over at all on Raw, which is why he's a jobber right now. Rhodes, on the other hand, is getting over on SmackDown, which is why he won the WWE Tag Team Championship last year, and will probably become Intercontinental Champion this year.

UMM last time i checked a feud doesn't end with just one match and big show is a main eventer on smackdown so this is good for him.

I'm confused...since when was Cody at jobber status?

He got coutned out against Big Show. I admit, that feuding with Show is the worst possible idea for someone wanting to rise up the ranks on Smackdown because he will inevitably make everyone he feuds with look like shit. But he's in no way at jobber status. I'm not sure if they are trying to help Cody up the card, and if they are, Show isn't the guy to feud with. But at the moment, Cody is not a jobber, he's still rising as a heel.

I am very quickly becoming to hate that big fat fuckface named Big Show. All he fucking does now is bury people. I thought CM Punk would get some momentum back after being owned by Rey but bah gawd Show made it even fucking worse, the SES got no victories over him, not 1-1 AND HE FUCKING EVEN BEAT THEM 3-1

I am pretty sure he isn't getting released. One reason being he gets weekly video segments on how to be 'man pretty', he gets to come out randomly on weeks he doesn't really have a match just to talk and get a bit of out of match build up going and... he got a ten minute segment in ring during a ppv where he didn't even have match. I am fairly certain they didn't put the ten minute segment into the last PPV only so Show could plug his ridiculous movie release.

For being where he is in his career I think he is doing well to fit in and playing his part as best as possible. There isn't a lot for him to do and he seems to be making what little he gets ten times more entertaining than it should be.
