I was pretty impressed with that match, Baretta did a dive, as the announcers mentioned that was Taker-like...Then at the end, Hawkins' elbow drop from an angle, kinda looked like HBK.. and yes, he was back to using the "Edgeheads" theme. Hawkins made a comment on twitter that he hated Archer's theme song.
actually i think both will make it, more so than ryder(unfortunately) ... hawkins has that heel look and baretta, who i believe will have very good success, has the look of a top babyface
but both have something that a lot lack and that's charisma
baretta usually does that diving senton flip from the top rope to the outside whenever there's a bunch of people ... real glad he's showing his high flying abilities ... he doesn't rely on them a lot but i think it's time to use them because kids love spot moves.
Both of these guys have great potential. I like Hawkins with a big guy though, sort of like the The Brian Kendrick with Zeke back in the day, that could have been awesome if Spanky didnt get busted for weed so much
does the human jar of mayonaise have a female tramp stamp on his back, completely wiping out his masculinity? no.
there's also the fact that he looks like a French rapist. and Vance Archer isn't that great either, i don't just hate cuz of the tramp stamp. he's ok on the mic, ok in the ring. but they aren't big on pushing guys like that right now anyway. the whole "huge" guy thing is dying out.
plus, in no offense to him cuz i like him, it was more than Sheamus that got him to the main event. i see Archer favored by no higher-ups.
I wouldn't mind seeing both these guys in the upper mid card down the track but not in the main event.
Caylon Crofts on the other hand is doomed and will be sent packing when Trent Baretta progresses through the ranks.
Butterfly tramp stamp or not, i'd still like to see Vance Archer in the main event. He has the look, good in the ring, can talk on the stick and IMO would look credible against the top guys if WWE builds him up properly. Only thing I see going against him is that he is from TNA and I just can't see Vince pushing any ex-TNA guys to the world title.
I think the match was really good. And I mean psychology wise and new moves I don't see much of. The slide out of the ring trip really got my attention as Curt did it in one motion as opposed to the opponent having to stop and fake confused. Heat seeking elbow's kinda meh, but people like it when they fly.
Man, they really need to get these guys off of Superstars, a.k.a Jobberville. I was reading through this thread going, "Who the hell is Caylen Croft? Trent Baretta? Sounds familiar..."
I might have been wrong about Hawkins. I thought he was shit compared to Ryder - but actually, he just plays a very different (but equally good) style of heel.
I've always liked Barreta (the "Where's Crofty?" thing on the stage made me lawl) but Hawkins really grew on me here. A thoroughly enjoyable match.
Now for some resolution to him and Archer. I was disappoint by the lack of Archer this week.
I definitely like the elbow drop as a finisher. Everything always has to be some sort of mat-based move. It's about time a guy who's not known in the WWE to be high-flying gets a top-rope finisher.
