I hope I'm not the only one who thinks so either. I mean this is probably the best character building WWE has done in a while. On one side you have Styles, Anderson and Gallows and the latter two want Styles to embrace his bad intentions and destroy Reigns but Styles won't but his loyalty to his boys keep him at their side while they beat Reigns down. Then you have the Usos come in with the sneak attack with a chair(a heel move btw)to have their cousin. AJ snaps and takes the Usos out as Roman gains his consciousness back and absolutely destroys AJ in a heel manner, but Reigns is still presented as a good guy. There's just so many levels to this storyline that it could end in so many different ways. So
let's just enjoy it for what it is instead of being whiny little bitches crying that AJ looks like a geek, no he doesn't he was attacked from behind, and second this is like the first time he's been beaten down like this before really plus he's the center of the whole show. So stop complaining about everything.
Best main event feud in quite some time. There's character layers, tension, real motives, intrigue and Reigns and A.J have some great in ring chemistry. I'm really looking forward to how this all plays out as time goes on. Their next match should be really good too.
So congrats to WWE. They're doing something right. There's so many shades of grey in this feud, it's refreshing.
no its not!! any story line presented with several layers of conflict hurts my petulant child like brain and i want it to stop. just put the title on aj styles after 3 months because he deserves it.
People are jumping to conclusions, I'm going to let it play out.
For all we know, it could lead to AJ embracing the BC and turning into a monster heel or it could lead to Balor debuting and kicking AJ out of the group.
And then you have Balor leading a bunch of geeks instead of a strong group.
They should be building up the bullet club to make them strong, then have AJ keep rejecting them, then at the next PPV Balor screws over AJ to team with the BC to be a strong group.
I'm loving it so far. Before this I couldn't care less about what Roman was doing and now they got me interested. The only negative is I have to wait a week for the story to progress opcorn
Like someone else said we'll see how it plays out, but it's nice that there's some kind of mystery. Totally unlike the WWE to have something like that.
Next week, I'd love for AJ Styles to literally take the gloves off; slip them off his hands, throw them in Roman's face and go on the attack. If Reigns is Tweener/heel, Styles should be a babyface with an edge. He should also snap on the Usos. Reigns/Styles aren't the best mic workers which would propel the feud even further but they're compensating in other ways IMO.
I'm no Bullet Club or Styles fanboy. I've never watched them before. I thought this was going to be another New Japan Indy Bullshit, but i'm really enjoy this AJ Styles, Gallows and Anderson stuff.
While I do agree the storyline is pretty good and I am enjoying it, I disagree it can end in many ways. It will only end one way which is Reigns beating Styles at ER and AJ Styles then permanently being in the mid-card feuding with BC. They wont turn Reigns heel and from the looks of it, they wont turn AJ. It was a simple misunderstanding between 2 faces because of their family members/friends who were in the mix.
I see this ending with AJ and RR earning each others respect and ending the feud with a handshake like Daniel Bryan/Roman feud at Fastlane 2 years ago.
The only ones complaining are the delusional indy smarks that actually thought AJ was gonna be champion. They should stop hurting themselves like that. It's sad
For those speculation that the plan might be to turn AJ heel, does he really need to do that? He's already pretty over with the crowd and his merch is selling.
AJ was one of the top stars for over a decade at the second largest promotion (and one of the only 2 promotions with a consistent national TV presence).

Wrong tag team, although Anderson WAS one half of that. The other half...well, they had him dancing around in lingerie. Gotta love that WWE genius.
There's one issue with your train of logic-Reigns destroys AJ, who is loved. This will make the audience love AJ more. This is a heel move. Reigns is a babyface. The audience already hates him. This is going to give the audience MORE reason to hate him. So while this was supposed to be 50/50 booking where I believe AJ will get his revenge at some point, they've effectively made AJ the underdog you want to win while making the fans hate Roman more. Roman is your top babyface and the writers/bookers are supposed to put him into situations where at least there's a chance he'll get cheered. For example, put him in a feud with Triple H, who is a clear heel, and that'll get fans on his side. It didn't...but at least the train of logic was clear and sound. This...this is right up there with having Roman beat Daniel Bryan and expecting THAT to get the fans' approval. Newsflash-it didn't, and even a blind monkey with down's syndrome could have seen that coming. Just like they'd have seen how awful an idea this was, it you want Roman to be cheered for it.
Yet somehow, between 28 (!) writers on the staff, this possible outcome eluded them.

It looks like they're accepting the negative crowd reactions and incorporating it into the show in a way which allows Reigns to be some semblance of what they hoped he would be. Sure, Reigns/Bryan and Reigns/HHH sucked from a story-line standpoint, but you're really going to keep calling what's happening with Reigns awful when they seem to actually be learning from these mistakes in the past? They're hearing the criticism and seem to be adapting to it. This is good!
Storyline is great. F the haters, can't wait for the big twist that is balor debuting and attacking styles with Anderson and gallows choosing balor as their leader.
Here is how it should end. The Usos, Anderson, and Gallows turn on both Roman and AJ at Extreme Rules. Then, Balor is revealed as the leader. Leaving AJ and Roman in some ways fighting side by side up until Summer Slam. This may actually get Roman a bit of a "face" reaction. Set up something that books both AJ and Roman at Summer Slam for the WWE title. AJ Styles vs Roman vs Balor at Summer Slam?
It's garbage, putting Styles into the mix is just to boost WWE Network subscriptions, and make people slightly interested in watching Reigns-related matches. I personally think the feud has been disappointing, considering how they wasted the opportunity at payback for some great changes, or even Balor's debut.
I definitely feel as though they wasted time at Payback going as safe as they possibly could. However, I do enjoy a slow burn as long as it's interesting.
OK. The two top heels (and two of the best talkers) in the company are fighting it out for the Intercontinental Championship, along with probably the best wrestler in the company and the biggest up and coming face. That story is the most entertaining thing going in the company right now and it is showing with crowd reactions and TV time. The main event has the two top faces of the company against each other with teases of heel tuns on both sides and using the most boring tag team in the company to help Roman. Right now the Intercontinental Championship storyline is outshining the main event storyline in every possible way. This proves my point that it isn't always the booking, it is the talent taking the ball and running with it. This all falls on Roman Reigns not being able to carry a story, although I will say if they would let him be the beast heel he was at the end of Raw, we wouldn't be having this conversation at all.
I don't mind it, and I'm looking forward to seeing AJ stop playing peacemaker and getting a little more violent.
Reigns and Styles have to be booked evenly to make it work though. The two seem to have good chemistry together, and the storyline is building relatively well. Far from perfect, obviously, but it's still the most interesting the title picture has been in a while.
Reigns absolutely CAN NOT dominate Styles, or we'll just end up with another Orton/Christian scenario where one of them looks strong and the other one ends up looking like a joke.
That's a problem with all big man vs. little man matches. How far can they go with The Big Dog being matched even with the little yorki at some point the pit dull is gonna bite the little guy. That's why I'm glad they are using Fetus and Anderson in this it evens things up for AJ.
