I've always thought WWE wouldn't clear him to compete again, or he would've been back a long time ago, at least he would've been at the Royal Rumble.. but i'm currently watching Smackdown and Miz is cutting a backstage promo and he goes off talking about Daniel Bryan again.. saying he helped mold him into the star he's become.
Of course this could only have to do with what happened last week with Miz trying to be AJ's mentor, the way he "helped" Bryan when he joined WWE, but it seems a bit odd.. WWE knows how badly the fans want Daniel Bryan back, why would they keep bringing him up like this if they had no plans for him to return?
I say it's a Smackdown spoiler because i know the show airs for most people tomorrow night.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
I think they are just trying to get the casuals to regard AJ as a similar guy to Bryan and are hoping they will adopt him like they did Bryan. That's easier said than done because Bryan has always been able to forge a very strong bond with the fans. They will need to allow AJ to show his personality and try to broaden his appeal to the casual fans.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
Maybe they're just trying to put Bryan and AJ in the same frame so that the casual fans form a connection between their respective journeys and understand that AJ is cut from the same cloth as far as being a guy that payed his dues on the indie circuit and he's now being doubted by the big players in the WWE. It gets heat on Miz by him taking credit for Bryan's YES movement and it creates a blueprint for Miz and AJ's storyline if they decide to follow a similar path that DB and Miz did in 2010 (which helped plant the seeds for DB's underdog persona)
I doubt that it's to bring Bryan back because it would make no sense to do it at AJ's expense when it's crucial for them to build up AJ as a name right now. Bryan returning in the midst of this storyline would suck momentum out of AJ's building process by overshadowing him-- and as much as i'd love to see Bryan return it's simply not the best way to do it
Maybe they're NOT trying to create a feud between AJ and Miz and they're using it as a way to bring back Bryan, but then that'd be a very poor way to get AJ over. At least wait a while before throwing Bryan into the mix. The last thing you want to do is sacrifice a guy you just brought in that has potential to make you money

This is true. That's certainly a bumpy road that they'll have to overcome. The Bryan and AJ comparisons need to be made but only up to a point where it helps get the Miz/AJ relationship over. A big risk is creating unrealistic expectations in regards to AJ as an overall great entertainer like Bryan became. AJ is an incredible in-ring talent but he has his weaknesses on the stick. If WWE were smart they wouldn't push the Bryan comparisons TOO hard and instead try to work around AJ's weaknesses and accentuate his strength until he figures out how to transition and adapt to the WWE way of doing things. AJ will only become a better entertainer through experience IMO
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
It does seem strange that he would constantly come up, whether that be Miz mentioning him all the time, or Brie constantly relying on his kicks as part of her moveset.

Man, there's 50 threads on this topic
Until new info comes out, I don't really see the point in continuing to discuss it. Every time we see a thread like this it just gives people false hope.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
Given what I read recently on "the site I shall not name" , there's a solid chance that Bryan will actually return next week on RAW. We'll see what happens.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
It means nothing. Vince is the ultimate troll and Miz is a good mouthpiece to deliver the trolling.
AJ Styles has been brought in as Daniel Blue-yan to help fill Bryan's gap. Daniel's Bryan's character has been split up and divided amongst the roster. Reigns gets the underdog story. Stephanie owns the Yes! chant. AJ Styles is the B+ player. Somebody else be getting a goat beard at some point.
Shame there is nobody there with the fanbase of Bryan.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
As much as I would love to read into it like that. I think it's just Miz just trying to pump himself up and sell his mini story with Styles. And that's it. There wasn't anything concrete enough to make me think otherwise.
There's also a good chance that they got Miz to say that stuff to try and get fans to replace Daniel Bryan with AJ Styles.
'Hey, look this guy could be mentored by Miz because he came up the same way that Daniel Bryan did, you remember Daniel Bryan right? Well he's not here right now, but this AJ Styles guy is, and he came up the same way as Daniel Bryan!'
It's a clever shorthand way to get casual fans on board quickly.
With all the injuries lately, I'm sure they have their reasons to leaving Bryan on the sidelines. I don't buy the Reigns conspiracy stuff, they are desperate for star power now, even reaching out to Batista. Rock has more or less confirmed he won't be competing. WM needs all hands on deck. All that said snowballs chance of him returning soon but a Bryan/Styles match would be money.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
You know what? You may be into something here...It's very possible, if they continue to namedrop Daniel Bryan, there is a possibility that he comes back as a credible upper midcarder, because there is no way in hell that he will be a Top Main Eventer ever again.

Yes, a welcome back feud with The Miz, then maybe a few runs with the US/IC title, and that's all I think he'll be getting. Plus, the matches with Owens, Joe, Zayn, Aries (if he gets called up fast), Balor, Nakamura, Styles.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
maybe thats why they havent gone the kevin owens route with aj, because they saw the pop aj got a rumble and thought fuck it bryan vs him at mania hopefully the crowd wont shit on anyone then. which is probs quite accurate too lol
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
They are trying to fill the void with AJ Styles. I assume they want to get him really over and then place a midcard belt on him and make some decent money off his merch etc (Probably what they wish they did with Bryan. Never wanted him as the WWE champion yet had him go over Cena clean at Summerslam 2013. Talk about sending conflicting signals to your fans. They won't repeat this with AJ)
They won't clear Bryan due to an ongoing concussion lawsuit filed by multiple former employees.
Bryan is cleared medically but has to be classed as high risk due to his history. Similar story with Christian.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
I'd like to hope that you're right, but I have my doubts.
If something is in the works, next Monday would be the time to pull the trigger.
Seattle.
If he were to come back, I don't see him holding another WWE title. Don't get me wrong, I believe he'd still be booked as a main eventer. But putting a title on him would be a big mistake, considering he's had to forfeit his last two titles due to injury.
Re: I'm convinced Daniel Bryan is coming back now. (Smackdown Spoiler)
If I ran a company I'd bring RIGHT back the guy that refused to stop injuring himself, and! even better! lied about his injuries!!! YES! YES! YES! First name on the list, right there. If Douche Bag, I mean D B, I mean his real name is Daniel Bryan....gets to come back it'll be because Swiss cheese, or cheddar, or mozzarella has nice fake titties. Good job, guy, you did something right! WHOOOOOO!
