Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman is the kind of matches WWE need to produce more of. A work of art. + Aftermatch was gold

I'm a bit miffed that they gave it away on free television because it's honestly a money match at a PPV. The way they did it though felt more like a sample than a giveaway and if they gave it 6 months to refresh (aka. while Roman is champ after Wrestlemania or something), it would mean a lot more if it were given 20 minutes of brutality.

It was a hyper physical match and the reason why it felt like art, is because it does something rare in WWE: It makes you anticipate every single landing punch. You know each punch is important. To a point where you're watching a boxing match or a UFC fight where one punch could knock someone down. It felt very realistic of a fight.

That's thanks to how strong Braun Strowman is booked, it makes you wonder how many punches will it take.

The spot where Reigns' apron dropkick was caught by a clothesline was unexpected. This match was very well choreographed and felt like a fight scene in a movie. Great ring movement and blocking (theater stage movement).

Then Reigns had to overcome lots of interference by jumping around and superman punching Harper. He had to stall and get Strowman out of the ring and KEEP him over the table, for a countout just to survive. (Which I did NOT see coming)

Then I thought he was going to need help being attacked, THEN he just leaves and goes "nah screw that I'm not dumb."

Then he just "bitchslaps" (read punch) Bray and busts his lip open.

That...made Roman...look like the biggest badass on the planet.

Very well done. And all done without one commercial!

The Ryback vs. Rusev match going back to status quo right after it had me baffled, you have two big guys in the match yet they're not hitting each other hard. It feels lame and it's no wonder why they're having trouble going so far. If you're a big guy, you need to learn stiffness and ring presence.

I can't wait to see another match like that in full.

:clap

It was an excellent match with an excellent ending. Braun losing via count out keeps him looking strong, while Roman winning the match builds some major momentum heading towards his match with Bray. Reigns works incredibly well with big powerhouse types. He's proven this over and over again with Brock, Big Show and now Braun.

Yeah, I really enjoyed few of his matches with Rusev and Harper too. He's a good seller and he's really athletic for a guy of his size and easily can speed up the pace of the match.

Honestly, I thought it was a good match.

If the promo, to some, was bad, fuck it! The match was watchable and it was intense.

Roman Reigns sold like a motherfucker in that match. If you have noticed, he's a great seller. Roman Reigns best matches is when things go stiff and hard-hitting. He doesn't need to flip and kick to give you an enjoyable match. When he does his thing, he does it at his best and very believable.

It shown how strong Stroman is even with a count-out loss. Have you noticed during the match that Roman tried to lift Stroman for his Samoan Slam but wasn't able to get him up. That's awesome psychology.

If it was Cena, Cena would probably AA him and pin him and shrugs it off. It was a good match and enjoyed it. These two should go at it again in sometime in the future.

Remember... Rusev lost several times via countout and disqualification before "losing" against John Cena via pinfall at Wrestlemania.

It's almost the same thing. You still could legitimize him.

Uh, what? You don't have your next golden boy get beat on free television when he's in the middle of a make or break high-profile feud. That's company suicide.

It was Great but I wish Roman had pinned him clean.
No no no, you can't just un-legitimatize Braun Strowman just yet. You gotta save him and build him for the future when it's a WWE title match instead. That was just a sample of "what we could get".

He'll get to do that sometime next year if they're serious about it as a main event program.

It was a great match. Add more time and spots and it could have been a ppv. The sucker punch was a nice touch, too.

The match was dull... if you're going to tell a story and the crowd isn't invested in it, the guys themselves need to make it exciting. The match didn't have that and instead felt like both guys were just going through the motions. Ending was lackluster as well. It was a good way to make Strowman look strong, but nothing more.

I liked the match itself, but I disagree. The ending of this match really bothered me. Reigns just rolling back in the ring and willingly accepting a countout victory? Don't like it. And I don't care what anyone else says, slapping Wyatt and then backpedaling up the ramp didn't make him look good. The crowd booed him when he did it. It didn't make him look sympathetic or cool. It was more of a heel move than anything. And not even a cool heel move.

I'm torn. The match was solid, and I agree with the way it ended. After the match is where I can't make up my mind. On the one hand it made Reigns look weak (in terms of a face) by not getting in the ring when Wyatt called him out. On the other hand, it was a change of pace from the tired 'never give up' schtick.

The latter part is what counts honestly. How many times has Reigns gotten his ass kicked with all 3 of them in the ring (oddly enough, he can take Bray and Luke alone, but + Braun is a no no).

It looked like he just took a WWE script and just went "no, screw you creative, I'm going to bitchslap Bray Wyatt and bust his lip open and just leave." He did walk away but he deserved to walk away and he needs to keep being booked like someone who can just arrive, kill someone, leave with unstoppable momentum, it's refreshing when they rocket a babyface like this.
