Sting has returned! Absent from WWE since the night after his defeat to Triple H at WrestleMania, The Vigilante surprised The Authority by appearing last Monday night and attacking WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins. Following the ambush, Sting made clear his intention to vie for “The Future of WWE’s” World Title, and moments later on the award-winning WWE Network, WWE’s irate COO announced that Sting would get an opportunity against Rollins at Night of Champions.
The Architect seems to welcome this challenge, but is his confidence misplaced? As the WWE Universe awaits Sting’s next move, what can we expect on Raw? WWE.com has some ideas.
After beating both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, absorbing some serious punishment from The Beast Incarnate at WWE Battleground and defeating John Cena for the United States Title at SummerSlam, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has grown pretty fearless as of late, which is probably why he seems unfazed by Sting’s sudden re-emergence in WWE — a return that led to a one-on-one World Title clash between The Architect and The Vigilante at Night of Champions.
Rollins oozed bravado on SmackDown, where he wrote Sting off as an “artifact” and vowed to finish what The Cerebral Assassin started at The Show of Shows by crushing his “old bones to dust.” Is The Architect underestimating the WCW icon?
Plus, there’s still the matter of Rollins’ missing statue, which was to be unveiled last Monday night before Sting’s ambush. Will “The Future of WWE” reclaim his bronze likeness this week?
Brooklyn became Dudleyville last Monday night when Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley exploded onto the WWE scene for the first time in a decade. The Dudleys commemorated their return by attacking WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day and putting Xavier Woods through a table.
The furniture-shattering assault has put the trio’s eternally positive outlook to the test over the last week, inspiring a “save the tables” campaign from Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, who looked on in horror as Bubba Ray & D-Von forced Viktor to endure some table-cracking punishment on SmackDown.
The Dudleys defeated The Ascension on Thursday night, but the off-center tandem still has unfinished business with the WWE Tag Team Champions. Will a member of The New Day face a 3D on Raw, or will another unfortunate Superstar be picking splinters out of his skin Monday night?
Retired talk show hosts everywhere, take note: Don’t mess with John Cena. At SummerSlam, former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart shockingly attacked the Cenation leader with a chair, aiding his longtime nemesis, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, in capturing the United States Title. Stewart explained his actions the following night on Raw, saying he was simply trying to preserve the legacy of 16-time World Champion Ric Flair. If Cena, a 15-time World Champion, had defeated Rollins last Sunday, he would have tied The Nature Boy’s record, and Stewart wasn’t about to let that happen.
Cena got a measure of retribution against the Emmy-winning comedian that night when he hit Stewart with an Attitude Adjustment, but the Cenation leader has yet to get his hands on Rollins in the wake of SummerSlam. Will Cena be looking for payback against the new United States Champion this week on Raw?
They might have conquered The Wyatt Family at SummerSlam, but Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose haven’t quite looked like victors since last Monday night, when Bray Wyatt introduced the brothers-in-arms to Sister Abigail’s “Black Sheep,” the hulking Braun Strowman. This gargantuan swamp creature made short work of The Big Dog and The Lunatic Fringe on Raw, then laid out both Superstars in another horrific attack on SmackDown.
Ambrose and Reigns have long stated that the war between themselves and The Wyatt Family is never ending, but how can these Superstars possibly stand up to Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and “The New Face of Destruction”?
As dominant as PCB was against Team B.A.D. and Team Bella at SummerSlam, Nikki Bella still holds the crown jewel of the Divas division, and she’s mere weeks away from surpassing AJ Lee and becoming the longest-reigning Divas Champion in WWE history.
As these three teams continue to battle for the spotlight in the midst of the Divas Revolution, Nikki’s potentially record-breaking reign could be in danger. Will a new challenger prevent Nikki from becoming the greatest Divas Champion of all time, or will “Fearless Nikki” continue to cling to the title, as she has since last year’s Survivor Series?
Don’t miss Raw at 8/7 C on USA Network, and be sure to tune in to Raw Pre-Show at 7:30 ET, only on the award-winning WWE Network.
Because of the hurricane. I said in another thread that maybe Mother Nature's trying to do us a favor. Last week's Raw was decent, but WWE rarely has back-to-back decent Raws. This Raw has "it's gonna suck" written all over it.
The show should go on. It's not a hurricane, it's not even a tropical storm anymore. The only problem could be that the remnants of the storm could bring a lot of rain to Tampa Monday, where there's already been flooding issues this month.
The show better go on, i got good seats. You'll see my Monday night rollins sign lol.
Re: WWE Monday Night Raw Discussion Thread - 08/31 - Will It Even Take Place??!!!?
Looking forward to what they do for Sting/Seth feud, New Day/Dudleys, Wyatts/Ambreigns, The Divas #1 Contender match and hopefully a Rusev promo. I hope to find out what's next for Owens, Cesaro and Orton also.
I'm going in with high hopes. I probably shouldn't but last week was so amazing to experience im hoping it carries over.

Exactly! Haven't been this excited in a few months. And yes I just want everyone to have some direction going into NOC. Is that too much to ask from WWE?

I did think of that today too TBH, HHH sanctioned a title match for Sting with his boy Rollins. Logic does really go out of the window, i guess with a longer build, they could have had Sting do things to force HHH's hand, but with only a few weeks to go, they had to go with way i guess.
Rollins gonna John Morrison tonight, and quit on live tv
