Don't the crowd realize that by chanting "Let's Go Cena, Cena Sucks!" it gives him all the attention?

Seriously, it's disrespectful to whoever Cena is facing against since they're completely ignoring his opponent. John Cena tried to address it by making the fans chant "Let's go Cena, Fight Owens, Fight!" and what did the crowd do? Complete silence. If you want to show your hate towards Cena, don't completely ignore his opponent, chanting "Let's go Cena, Cena Sucks!" gives Cena all the attention. I am glad Cena finally address this chant on RAW and tried to make the crowd chant for the other guy, but the crowd were to stupid to realize it.

It was considered a failure for Cena and the WWE when it started because there isn't any way to spin your top face getting booed by half the crowd, but it's also proof that people care and that's how they used it to their advantage. if fans were smart and angry enough about Cena's position, they'd ether stop watching and supporting the product, or they'd give Cena complete silence at the shows. "Boring" chants are the only chant I see being as powerful as silence.

No, they don't realize. It's the 'cool' thing to chant Cena Sucks. It's to the point that I'm sick of the Cena hate. If you really dislike Cena just be silent, and cheer your ass off for every jobber and mid-carder. And hey, here's an idea. Boo the Heels. Even if you like them, they are trying to get Heel Heat.

I have been enjoying Cena's US Title run. Do people still think Cena is a bad Wrestler? I think he has proven himself enough times by now. And it's not like he takes up most of the show. 3 hour Raw. Thumbs up for Cena, Owens, and Ryder tonight.

As much hate Cena gets, hes defintitely the MOST popular person on the entire show. My section blew up when his music played. Even his critics got up, I think people just have fun with it now. I doubt people hate him that much at this point. The "john Cena sucks" reminds me so much of the you suck theme to Angles music.

The only thing to stop a superstar is by shouting nothing, just be silence, thats the worst thing for a wrestler, to come out to crickets. I have seen this happen more and more with Cena, but not enough.

I always think of the Raw/SD crowds as the special Ed class, while the NXT fans are the regular class with students with common sense and intelligence. The Raw crowd will laugh at someone falling on a banana peel and scratch their head when someone like Owens debuts "Huh whos that?" Cena was even trying to to tell them the chant to chant and they sat there like idiots.

Cena's reaction is the result of being over pushed and forced into the spotlight for so many years.

A victim of a rape cant ignore their rapist at seeing him,
John Cena has been raping us for a long time, the crowd is sick of him and they react when he's in the ring.

That has nothing to do with him being "charismatic" or with him being a great "crowd manipulator", that have shit to do with Cena ability of connect with the crowd, he just has been the guy for too much time and people can't ignore his repulsive presence at this point.

Maybe there are just a lot of people that like having fun at shows, despite the fact that they normally wouldn't care.

It may look stupid on TV, but I've done it before, and I plan on doing it again this weekend at the show I'm going to. Why? Because it's fun to get into the show as opposed to sitting on my hands the whole time.

Also, whether I actually want Cena to win the match is irrelevant as I normally only chant his name to troll the guy sitting near me chanting "cena sucks" with like 5 pieces of wrestling merch, a $350 replica belt, some random ass shirt of (insert smarky wrestler here) that he probably spent like 75 bucks on, who spends the better part of his day telling me who I should and shouldn't cheer for on the Internet... It's my favorite wrestling-related troll ever because they ALWAYS get mad over it. Often times more entertaining than whatever is going on in the ring.

Want to know someone who was the best of all time at controlling the crowd and manipulating them? The Rock. 2002 Toronto Promo, best promo ever. A true megastar in every sense. All Cena does is pander to all sides, oh you hate me great, you love me great too. He is so conceded that is all. Nothing great in that.

Man this thread is like 6 years passe.

I will say that it is a cool gauge of overness. 95% of the time people will "LET'S GO CENA/CENA SUX" But when someone is reeeaally over, you'll know it because they'll chant that person's name in opposition.

To my memory, I've heard

"Let's go Cena/CM Punk"

"Let's go Cena/Let's go Rocky"

"Let's go Cena/Daniel Bryan"

and less consistently but in a couple of their confrontations

"Let's go Cena/Let's go Wyatt"
