You think Kevin Owens is good promo cutter? I thought his promo with Cena on Monday wasn't good and seemed lost out there, Thoughts?

I loved the promo. I don't need someone to go out there and say everything perfectly. I want someone that goes out there and tells a story with what he's saying and I want it to make sense. That's what Owens did. He's really good at that. He's not going to have the perfect delivery or crack off one line jokes. That's not what he does. He tells it like it is and it comes off as REAL (meaning it sounds like something someone would say if wrestling were real) and that's what I like about it.

I agree wholeheartedly. Too often, promos sound like pre written pablum delivered by rote. They don't have a true sense of emotion to them. It sounds like an average actor delivering lines. Owens' promos come with a verbal certificate of authenticity, in that I believe that it's his everyday vernacular and just has more emotional heft. He'll only grow stronger as he grows more accustomed to being on that big a stage and having an audience of millions at home.

Yes. His promo sounded "monotone" and "slow" to some, almost as if he was reading cue cards from a distance but it actually fits his character; a detached, remorseless sociopathic bastard. He sounds like he's supposed to sound, devoid of passion with nothing left but remnants of cold, sterile, calculating precision that's lethal when administrated.

Yes. Because he talks to his opponent and not the crowd. This is an extremely important skill that has gotten lost.

Bray and Ambrose have great skills, but they don't address their opponent even 1/10th as much as they showboat their skills to the crowd.

If Ambrose and Wyatt are a couple of show ponies, Owens is a real race horse. That's the difference. I hope you guys can see what I'm saying.

He's good if not the best. I thought Cena was the better promo during their exchange on Raw but Owens held his own.

He more than makes up for it with his character work and heeling though so it's all good.

What's good about his promos is that he comes off as extremely believable, and that makes him great at selling his heel persona. When he talks he really sounds like a monotone self-centred douchebag, and that, my friend, is pure money. :mckinney

His character at the moment is odd, because he doesn't necessarily heel it up and deliver the kind of promos you'd expect. As he's playing this weird, unsettled Waylon Mercy type, he's outwardly trying to be calm and polite and courteous, and present himself as nothing more than a devoted family man who works really hard to put food on the table.
I think it's a very interesting character, and rather stops him from delivering the kind of cookie cutter promos of so many other heels on the roster.

I actually was that impressed with him at first, but once he started getting more mic time that I actually started liking him.

You take any other NXT star and throw him in the ring with Cena day 1.....well Zayn and Neville didn't talk, they went in and wrestled only. I don't even remember Neville talking on mic at all in RAW til like a month later and that was for an interview. Zayn was 1 and done in RAW.

I see Owen as a fixture in WWE soon. I think after Summer Slam Owen will be a rotational player. Obviously he is jumping right up, but I feel him and Samoa Joe could really boost each other in NXT.

Personally I like how it isn't so black and white, you can be in grey area as NXT star but can still be on RAW. You got to get acclimated, and based off Owen's portfolio, I think he is more than ready for Elimination Chamber, and good to go the following Monday.

Me think Owens is good promo cutter? No, I think is no good promo cutter. Me hate English! He should stop good speaking and speak like Cena. Word life yo.

I think he's good, his promo work previous to WWE blows pretty much anything he's done since debuting in NXT out of the water, but I think that's mainly because he's been limited, for the most part, to repeating himself a lot about his family and such. I think some people have a problem with how soft spoken he is at times as well, but it plays up well for him as he comes off as a borderline sociopath.

i saw some great mic stuff from owens on nxt. he forced a fan to cange his t-shirt. was pretty funny.
when i saw ko first, i was not impressed that much. his mic work made me like him. now i think he is pretty cool,

i think if you give ko the mic he has the skill to get people involved or take over with him. owens can showcase his desire and will to win threw the mic. he is an authentic bully at nxt. i hope he won'T be repacked towards pg to much. right now he is pretty cool and he is a great nxt champ.

Haters will probably have to bitch about Ko's look cause that is the only thing he is not above wwe average. (I personally like his look, but he is not a wwe prototype)

Question: i know he is heel - but he is pretty cool and not a goofy wwe heel. so in my view he is doing heel stuff but he also receives a lot of cheers or at least people take him as cool. Does anyone else also thinks that it were these kind of baddass heels which took over in AE?
