Don't get me wrong I love Sami Zayn, but Zayn was in no shape, or form healthy enough to come back. He looked sloppy and why debut him vs Cena? Corbin should have been the "one" because it wouldn't have necessarily meant he were "officially" on the main roster. Corbin's debut should have just been a loud warning to everyone on the roster. Baron Corbin standing over Cena after "End of Days" would have blown the roof off the arena, literally. Best part is Cena wouldn't have taken a title loss because Baron's statement would just be to prove that he can take even the best of the best out in a matter of seconds. "End of Days", stands over Cena, and the leaves to one of the loudest pops in WWE - NXT Debut history.
The Debut of Sami Zayn
Regardless of what anyone thinks Sami should have debuted under a mask. He would be under the control of Paul Heyman. Notice I said under the control. Meaning Heyman is the heel manager with a "face" as his client, reluctant client may I add. Paul, prior to Sami's debut keeps telling HHH that he has someone he would like to introduce to the WWE Universe. Over time Heyman requests a little more from HHH in regards to his new client. Paul then asks HHH if it would be okay for his client to have a stipulation in his contract just to prove how good he actually is. HHH is interested and asks Heyman to go on.
Paul informs HHH that his client he is so certain he should be on the main roster that he asks that HHH grant whomever defeats him and unmasks him a WWE title shot. What this does is huge, and builds one of the best baby face talents of our time with Heyman the antagonists pushing Sami over time. HHH grants the requests and tells Paul he better deliver and makes pun at Axel. Paul over time would then begin to tell the world that in just weeks time they will all bare witness to perhaps the best wrestler in the world. Heyman informs the wrestling world of the contract stipulation of his new client known as "The Best In The World", a complete jab at CM Punk. Out comes Sami Zayn under a mask and wearing similar attire that he has worn his whole WWE career.
What we come to find is that Zayn has a ton of challengers each week, but only having to answer to singles matches. His stipulation does not work under any other match type other than singles. As you would have guessed Sami goes on to win plenty of matches and many become frustrated. Heyman never allows Sami to talk even when he reaches for a mic. Fans pick up on things like this and realize who is who. Realizing that Heyman is a total prick and his client is actually bad ass, and awesome in the ring. After so many matches finally "The Best In the World" finally snaps on Heyman, and lets him know that he wants to speak his mind. What he doesn't realize is that Heyman has lined up a match with him already because he found someone who can defeat him and then rip his mask off.
Out comes Brock Lesnar. We come to find that this may have been a set up the whole time. Heyman is the manager of "The Best In The World" and so he makes his matches. Heyman asks that the bell be rung and the match be started. It last all, but an F5. Lesnar delivers three just to make sure. He pins Paul's other client and then rips the mask off his face. Revealing to the world who he actually is. This puts Lesnar in a title match and Heyman humiliates Sami Zayn. I think this would be a great way to build the character of Sami Zayn, and debut him in a real story.
