Who would you like to see in the coming weeks challenge? I'd like to see a surprise return, maybe a a former talent (Brian Kendrick) or a legend. To me the most interesting would be Rhyno, he's squashing the jobbers in NXT and would get a massive pop. Neville would be another.
I believe Owens' introduction to the mainstream should be a feud with Cena. Your idea is great, except Cena just taking the beating and not showing up on NXT and looking for revenge is uncharacteristic. Irregardless of whether Owens could be a credible world champion, a feud with Cena right now would be perfect and could only be surpassed by a babyface vs babyface feud with Roman Reigns. In terms of quality I would choose Owens over Reigns for SummerSlam, but if they want to make money, book Warrior vs Hogan for the 2010's with Cena and Reigns and replace the World Title with the US Championship...Unless Brock is wrestling(he most likely will) it could close the show.
It's hard to get excited for them really. We already know that Rusev is facing Cena at Payback, so we know he won't lose. The open challenges were cool, until we figured out that each week had the exact same formula. Opponent kicks out of Cena's finisher. Cena kicks out of Oponnent's finisher. Cena hits the springboard stunner, then the AA, and gets the pin. It's just filling up time on the show.
A clone of Cena, they can have the match at his house in a ring in the backyard where they can no sell each other and kick out at 2 till the end of time and they both stay out of the way of the rest of the world and off my TV.
I want some surprises thrown into the mix. NXT guys being brought in for a 15-20 minute match with Cena before officially being called up would be a good way to introduce them to those unfamiliar with NXT.
People there is only one man from NXT that could even come close to having this honor, and his name is Baron Corbin. How would I call it?
Don't sell wolf tickets John Cena
Of course it's the open challenge concept. So, out comes someone fans aren't familiar to when they hear the music and entrance for the first time live on RAW. Corbin comes out to "Get'em Corbin" chants. Corbin slowly makes his way to the ring and soon goes toe to toe with Cena. John takes one single punch and Corbin hits him with his finisher, "End of Days". He stands over an unconscious John Cena with the belt raised, and his foot over the defeated John Cena, but not to win the title, but to merely worn the rest of the roster that Baron Corbin is coming, and he is coming after everyone, "Don't trust the Wolf".
Kevin Owens, I'd love to see him come to the main roster and beat the living shit out of Cena. Like come out, and just attack him brutally and not even take the title.
Why do these when there's a PPV match coming up? We all know nobody is gonna beat him and interrupt their plans for Rusev, so why bother?
It was cool seeing Zayn come out but the matches have become so predictable. Obviously Zayn was never gonna win regardless of Cena was fighting on PPV or not... but I want SOME suspense. Even if it's just a little.
To keep this thread on topic, I'd like to see Carlito answer his challenge. Remember Carlito beat him for the US title in his debut, so it would be great continuity. Even if it's just a one-off.
I am loving it, I think every week has been a quality match. I'd like to see him drop the title and them have the I Quit match just out of pure hatred for one another.
Highlight of the show every week. Cena is awesome and delivers in every match. Hoping for Cesaro & Tyson Kidd to answer the challenge soon, after dropping the belts.
Who could I possibly want to see challenge for the US title? :hmm:
