How to enjoy a terrible Raw

First step is to follow it on Raw Discussion. I always get more laughs from others' take on what I'm watching. For those new to these forums, it's at the top of the Raw and Smackdown section and is there new every week.

Second, is to ignore those telling you:

1. If you complain all the time, why watch it. Because we're fans. We've a right to criticize a product that stinks if we want it to improve. If we say nothing, they think they've a great product when they don't and won't change a thing.
2. Not to take it so seriously. We're not on a wrestling forum to discuss the weather are we? And I honestly never really see anyone take it seriously to the point some asshole has to say that. When on the forum we post passionately because we're FANS.
3. To sit there and take whatever crap WWE dishes out.

Wrestlemania was good last night, but it wasn't "business saving' good. The reasons are simple, the old farts got over at the expense of the young. At least Rollins 'saved the day" in every sense of the word. Not only that, but his loss to Orton(again old over young) was an epic match with probably the best ending I've seen ....in over a decade and I've watched for 37 years.

Most think it better than it actually was. Why? Because when you're fed disgusting gruel for months(terrible raws) when someone suddenly starts serving you oatmeal, you think it's the best food on Earth until you realize it's just oatmeal and nothing special.

Raw has every reason to be as dull and stupid as it's been for a long time now. The good news is we can share the misery on the Raw discussion and enjoy it anyways.

First, Why the Big Slow?

Lately, whenever he and Korne come to the ring, they don't get cheers or boos, they get crickets. Nobody cares. They honestly hold no appeal one way or the other. Then why give one of them the Battle Royal Win. Honestly, I could have gone with any other wrestler winning it than Big Slow and Korne, yet the WWE, in it's infinite idiocy, gives the nod to him? What possible scenario makes this a good decision?

No, let's not have a young star rise in the ranks, let's give it to a worn out old fart everyone's tired of seeing. Great decision, WWE....sigh.

If there is anything I learned from Mystery Science Theater 3000, it is that ANYTHING can be riffed.

Cinematic masterpiece or worst Z-Grade film that would embarrass Ed Wood. It doesn't matter. You can make fun of it.

Hell, the friends I watched Mania with last night basically acted like the peanut gallery the whole time. Good stuff, bad stuff. Didn't matter. We were cracking wise the entire time.

Going back to MST3K, I was especially proud of my Manos reference during the exceedingly long Steph/Rock exchange. It went on so long that I just sat there going "In case you forgot...Manos, the Hands of Fate" and "Maybe we'll find Manos, the Hands of Fate!".

Basically my point is, no matter how bad it is, you can make fun of it and it is even better with more people.

Manos, Hand of Fate...Manos is spanish for "Hand" so it was Hand, Hand of Fate, lol.

Every time we're going really good on the Raw Discussion thread, some killjoy comes along and does the "If you don't like it. Don't watch it." crapola. We're having fun riffing on it, but these people cannot see that. It's so terrible, that it practically begs for parody. "Oh look, the Divas. Glad I need to go to the bathroom". It's the pissbreak title".

I mean, when a person pissed their pants, and doesn't realize it, like the WWE seems to, it's hilarious mocking them. They're probably standing there, all seriousness and hoping to be taken seriously, but yet, they've obviously pissed their pants. It doesn't even matter what serious thing they're talking about.

It's like the old pie in the face routine. It isn't funny unless the person getting the pie in the face has dignity. If they're smiling and actually hoping for the pie, then it ceases to be funny.

Next, HHH kills probably a year's worth of storylines to feed his booking ego and books himself winning over Sting.

In truth, it would have been better to have made it a DQ or other fubar and continued the storyline, but noooo..the WWE wastes it.

When we've been treated to the "same old shit" for so long, you don't just throw storyline potential under the bus. You just don't..you milk it til the cow is dry.

Remember bringing Nash back and people wanted him gone? Well, you could have brought everyone who showed up at Ringside last night to the WWE for limited engagements and it would have improved things and not many would have griped too much and most would have loved it. I guess you still can, but it won't have the impact as a continued feud would have.

I guess HHH will rehire Shane Douglas or somebody and bury ECW next. It would actually be more than that as He and HBK buried Shane as the Kliq when Shane was in the WWE.....

Then Jeff Jarrett and bury TNA when it already does a good job of burying itself...

Wyatt/Undertaker.....

With the result that happened, it would have been better had the match never took place. Wyatt was becoming a top heel, a monster who had beaten some of the better faces recently. Now? He's just Bray Wyatt again, nutjob.

Wyatt worked hard on that feud all by himself. He's the one who sold it and he's the one who might be buried by it.

And what possible purpose does it serve? None. AN old guy beats the new guy, ho hum, more of the same.

Here's the difference.

Wyatt is a bore, who looks like he should be delivering pizzas for a living. He looks fat and out of shape, and he looks like as if he doesn't bathe. Halfway through the match, I actually started laughing at how out of place he looked. And his in ring ability is limited.

Taker is a legend, and is still loved by many as evidenced by the crowd cheering for him.

Seriously, if Wyatt is the future of the WWE, we're surely doomed.

Cena over Rusev...

We saw this burial when Rusev first appeared with this gimmick. I'm serious, the whole Raw Discussion said it.

Cena is a heel, regardless of what he does now. He's not a heel in any sense of Wrestling but in the sense we're sick of his stupor Cena act and the crowd last night reflected it. We've swallowed so much tripe from this waste that we honestly are full and can't take anymore....yet, let's elevate the old bastard over the young talent yet again.

It helps me too, also hearing others make jokes about it on the Raw Discussion.

Last night during the Cena burial, someone posted a GIf(I'm not usually fond of GIfs, most just waste space) of Cena in one of the Wrestling games, getting shot in the head, and kicking out at 2. I was so busy laughing I forgot to copy it or even give the guy a like.

You have the right to criticize and share your opinion, it's a free product that's given to you to enjoy or hate, unless we're talking PPV's.

But it becomes annoying as a fan who generally enjoys most of what WWE does (myself) to come on this board, read some comments and chat to people about what happened, and all you see is the same people whining, whining, bitching, bitching, week after week.

Especially those 15+ posts a day guys who live on here, every post you see from them is ridiculously biased

Most of us have been watching wrestling as fans for a Very long time. We mostly see patterns, whether good or bad, never improve unless someone points out the problems. And there are many.

It's good you enjoy the product, but for me and many others, it's at it's worst.

Like I said, if the product plain sucks, entertain yourself making fun of it.

Look at really bad movies. Some are so bad, they get watched just so people can see how bad it truly is.

There was even a great show, MST3K(Mystery Science Theatre 3000), that had 3 guys(2 represented by robots) making fun of truly awful movies. Their set resembled a movie screen with them sitting in the front row. At times, they could just make you piss yourself laughing. Plus most of the movies were so godawful, they were funny just because of that. Most tended to be SciFi movies.

Hey, glad I looked that up, they might reboot the series and in fact, I think they really will.

I've been a fan for 37 years(I'm 44) back when the Fabulous Freebirds were rookies...yes, THAT long ago. I've seen the good, the bad and the cringeworthy. I'm a fan and will continue to watch in the hopes that they'll improve it and if they don't, I'll make fun of it til they do.

In truth, I feel bad for younger fans. When I was a kid, there was wrestling all over the US and many shows on TV of varied content. If a wrestler got stale in one area, move him to another vs all new foes and he's fresh again and when he returned to the area he was stale in, he's fresh yet again. Each show had top stars and the shows were better due to that, giving more room to move up younger stars over time. Today's younger viewers don't even know what I'm talking about. They would probably reply "You mean both WWE and WCW?"....No.

There was World Class, home of the Von Erichs, the Freebirds, Gentleman Chris Adams, Gino Hernandez, etal. And they would often be seen on other NWA related shows. There was Mid South with Cowboy Bill Watts running it and Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Butch Reed, Ted Dibiase, The Missing Link, the Freebirds started there, and on and on. I could fill a ton on all of them. There was Mid Atlantic, Pacific Northwest, Intercontinental, Georgia, Florida, and many, many more.

Vince bought out all their top stars and one by one, they fell apart due to it til we get to the point we are at now....I think he secretly regrets running them out of business as he has nowhere to go for established stars and has to make his own.

so we have Drinks, snacks and humor to get us through...

What do you that drink(Like I said, I'm on enough meds that drinking would put me in a coma) actually drink?

What types of snacks? For me?
1. Cheese Puffs-I actually prefer the Wal-Mart brand to Cheetos brand
2. Pizza Rolls-I've found these at a "Dollar Tree" from Michellina(sp) that are better than Totinos and cheaper. It says 20 in a box(for $1..everything there is a dollar)but there's usually more, up to 27.
3. Popcorn, occasionally. Older you get, the more gets stuck in your teeth and is annoying, but still good.
4. Cheese Sticks-found good ones at again, Dollar Tree. Frozen Section
5. Clam strips-Yes, I found snack ones at Dollar Tree
6. Sour cream and Onion chips or anything with cheese.

I also tend to, while watching Raw:

(before it astounds you, know that I've Aspergers and multitask often)
1. Play a video game, RPG and STrategy ones. Lately, it's been the King's Bounty series and Duels of the Planeswalkers(MTG) on Steam
2. Chat on the Raw Discussion thread
3. Check for things that occur to me on Wikipedia. Usually trying to find a wrestler I just remembered and had forgotten.

In truth, I often do all 3 while doing so. Since I don't drink alcohol, I drink Sweet Iced Tea(Yes, I AM in the south, lol) like I'm trying to keep the companies that make tea in business all by myself.

Under that standard, a lot of wrestlers in the past would have never wrestled. No One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race....I could name a hundred off the top of my head easy.

Why stop at a body type and none other? Why not all blonde, blue eyed Aryans?

Because variety is the spice of life.

It's not just about look. It's about talent. Wyatt cuts long winded promos that don't make sense. And his wrestling ability is average to to say the least.

I'm not saying everybody should be chiseled bodybuilders, but I (personally) prefer it. If you don't look like one, then I can appreciate it if you have other qualities that make you stand out. Bray Wyatt needs to improve a lot more before I (personally) enjoy him.

Well, they had a good one going then not only 'dropped the ball', but proceeded to kick the ball into opponent's end zone as they attempted to grab it, and let the other team score a touchdown...
