I really doubt he's gonna turn heel. But did anyone else find this curious. Ducking out of the way causing a woman to be knocked off the ring isn't face-like behavior.
She's Russian so it's ok. Just like it's ok for Cena to play some sickeningly OTT propaganda video before his entrance, but Rusev is a bad guy for waving a Russian flag.
The sad thing is, there are actually people in this world that would agree with you and not catch even the slightest whiff of your obvious sarcasm. Vince being a prime example.
Shit like that is what makes watching wrestling embarrassing to admit to.
If anything, the breakup could be more damaging to her character. Without a new client to manage, what is she going to do? I mean CJ probably has other options. But not so much Lana.
It would be better for both if the stay together though. Rusev can still do some talking even with her, as he has been lately.
Same exact thing happened at Royal Rumble 2006 for the WWE title. Cena had a hold of Lita on the apron, Edge comes charging, Cena moves, Lita gets knocked off the apron, Cena hits his finisher, Cena wins the championship.
Breaking up Lana and Rusev is insane. The one needs the other. Rusev needs her as the mouthpiece, and what the hell is Lana going to do without Rusev? Is she even trained to wrestle? So being an in ring competitor is likely out. So then what? She suddenly loses the accent and becomes a valet for someone else under a new name? Yeah and you think this modern day smark crowd won't chant "Lana" at her for the rest of her career? They make some really dumb decisions sometimes. There is zero reason to break them up.
What do you mean? Of course that's what Cena did. He's playing the Modern American character perfectly. It's okay because she's Russian, so she doesn't matter. He's been doing this since the Edge and Lita days.
Well I suppose it was either that or let Rusev run into him...
