What if they did the Rusev bit but with Israel instead of Russia?

Imagine the media backlash if instead of presenting a Russian heel gimmick and putting Putin on the screen, they did an Israeli hell gimmick and put Bibi on the screen. It would draw so much controversy. We had a patriotic American heel tag team in the Real Americans, but I think this would get even more outcry.

Show the heel building settlements in occupied territory. lol

I like the idea. Stories have different characters with different beliefs. Why can't we have an Israeli Heel? So it's okay to mock them if they are Muslim, but you can't make fun of Israel? What kind of Double Standard is that?

Vince McMahon can play in his sandbox all he wants. He can use pictures of Putin to get a reaction. But he cannot deny the real world actions that transpire. So if you are going to glamourize/defame a famous politician, how is it okay to talk about one ruler, but not another?

Obviously WWE is way too PC to go for this. Israel is a Religious hot button issue, and Russia is just a powerhouse flexing its muscles. I don't think WWE is doing that many religious segments any time soon.

Just remember, stories are about different characters interacting with each other. You need controversial Heels rooted in real issues. And as much as the USA shows favoritism towards Israel they share many villainous qualities as the "terrorists" we are fighting. It's going to take some real world changes to stop the violence, and these issues are not going to be settled in a Sports Entertainment ring.

I am neither Muslim or Christian and this is how I see the world today. We live in a world dominated by the western media which is Islamophobic. Some of the things that our kids are taught by parents and even schools in US today.

Israel=Ally.
Arab=Enemy.

Christians=Normal People.
Muslims=View them with suspicion as they may have terrorist links.

9/11 attacks which killed 3000 people =Terrorism
US Invasion on Iraq which killed 500000 people=War on Terror.

We live in a hypocritical world and it is undeniable. Dick Cheney called the killing of 3000 people in 9/11 as an act of terrorism while killing of half of million Iraqis, torture of innocent Muslims and branding of every Muslims as a potential terrorist as necessary. I condemn terrorism. I also condemn US in spreading Islamophobia.

Wrestling is no different. Muhammad Hassan described himself as an Arab wrestler who was a victim of prejudice. In a perfect world, he would not be a heel just for that. But he was getting booed louder than Mr.McMahon or Triple H solely because he was Muslim.

Is American not more pro Israel then Pro Palestine though? That's the way it comes across in the UK.

Stick with Rusev and the Russian gimmick. If it's not broke then don't fix it. Simples.

Unfortunately we are. The media and schools teach us Israel = good, Arabs = bad. It's complete bullshit, but jews own this country. I don't get it either. A majority Christian nation like the united states supports a nation of people who don't even believe in jesus. It boggles my mind.

My cousins wife posted on her facebook the other day about how she is a proud Christian and how she supports Israel. I didn't know how to break it to her....

It probably wouldn't be allowed and wouldn't go far. Loving and praising "MOTHER RUSSIA" on screen is a little more generic, but if someone came and said "ALL FOR ISIS!!!" or "GO AL-QAIDA", that's a little more direct and would be very controversial and probably not allowed.

But Israel? What is there to praise Israel anyways (in a heel manner)?

Praising the French, German, British, or Russia in a heel manner is more understood, as those countries have always competed with America.

Eh I despise the outdated patriotic gimmick crap but going with 'Big Bad Russia' makes sense if they're going to do it with anyone. I mean, Rusev was originally Bulgarian if you remember, only nobody cared since most wrestling fans don't even know that it's a country. Israel is buddy-buddy with America so that wouldn't really work out.

They should try the "US sucks" gimmick with some random country like Macedonia, that'd be kind of funny.

How are Israel, in any way, an enemy of America?

That aside, international politics and wrestling are a terrible mix. It dates back to an extremely simple time, and perpetuates ridiculous stereotypes.

I like Rusev as a wrestler, but find his character/angle ridiculous. Just like this thread.

Um, they run an apartheid state that we are forced to subsidize, make enemies that we are then forced to go to war with, and have covertly usurped whatever democratic power the people of the US ever had, and made the US Israel's geopolitical puppet. Israel is a far more insidious threat than Russia could even aspire to be.

Your claim my worldview is simplistic was rooted in the fact I stated Vince would never dare step on the toes of his Zionist overlords. The fact that you would label such as a "simplistic worldview" only announces your own naivete, which I merely fleshed out with canards typical amongst you and your simple ilk.

Trust, I'm not suffering any cognitive dissonance, I am not arguing with myself, I'm rationally and emotionally stably illuminating you and your supercilious simpleton grasp of the world we live in

I'm renowned for my charm, wit, and intellectual beauty, so fear not about my social relations.

And why would a Jew heel be anti USA, considering the USA gives $billions$ to Israel every year ?
Think about it, wouldn't make much sense. Russia has for the better part of the last half century been a US rival and enemy, that is the whole premise of Russian heel gimmicks.

Might work with a Chinaman the way things are going, muslim too but I doubt if they'll touch that [again] any time soon. The list of countries that can seriously rival the USA militarily can be counted on 1 finger, they really are limited in these nationalistic rivalry gimmicks.
