BNB-crowd reactions

My view in this post is not about the kills of BNB. Or what i write is not because BNB is lacking skills to get more hate.

BNB gets barely crowd reactions. I think he gets way to less hate (boos) by the crowd. Actually he is a heel interconti champ interrupting Bryan. - The crowd was quiet to him. I think BNB is way to high up the card according to his crowd reactions-because there are none.

What do you think about this topic?

Along with Ryback this guy has had some of the worst booking in recent memory.

The fact is he is better than were he is at. He's an excellent talker, he can elicit crowd reactions and he has a good look and legitimate fighting background.

He gets the same booking as guys like The Miz or Kofi but in reality he's a league above them as an overall package and surely if it wasn't for guys like Kane and Big Show hanging around in those upper mid card/Main event heel spots then Barret would be there instead.

It's frustrating to watch because those guys just will not leave :lol Kane is 48 years old and even though his entire gimmick has been eroded over the years he is still there taking a spot on the card.

Big Show i won't even get started on because I'd never stop. He is a total failure in WWE.

WWE is at fault they changed his fucking gimmick, instead of saying his catchphrase they have him hosting a stupid TMZ parody. Plus he loses all his fucking matches

His lack of entrance pop (cheers or boos) isn't helped by the fact that they axed the "God Save the Queen" intro from his theme. The heartbeat part of his theme is so quiet, I can't tell who's entering until fifteen seconds into his entrance.

But all the same, he got over big last year because of constant mic-time, his catchphrases and being booked credibly. Now he hardly ever speaks, doesn't use his catchphrases, and loses all the time. Is it any wonder why people no longer care?

It's just like taking the Swing away from Cesaro for months, ending Bo's semi-serious undefeated streak with no pay-off, or taking away Fandango's theme (the one thing he had left at this point). WWE let their heels get over with characters, catchphrases or moves, then take them away whenever they're getting too hot.

First off, they took out the intro to his entrance theme. Seriously....why? Makes absolutely no sense. Then they took away the podium, promos before his matches, and now he almost never does his catchphrase.

No wonder he doesn't get good reactions like he did last year because he's pretty much back to being a bland, generic character again. It's so frustrating because he was pretty over last year.

He's a victim of the WWE losing interest after an injury and having plans in place to push other stars. The only reason he got the belt off Ziggler was because they wanted Ziggler for the fired story line and Barrett being back gave them an easy excuse to get it off him, since then they haven't really cared about him until they realised they need something for Ambrose and Ziggler again. It's not his fault if the crowd loses interest, the WWE itself has lost interest in him.

WWE book him like a jobber so now no one cares about him. I was a huge BNB fan was was pumped when he returned and won the IC Title again. Gave the impression that WWE were sticking to whatever "big" plans they had before his injury. Its been nothing but downhill since though, has he won a single TV match since being IC Champ? And even if/when he wins he looks stupid because he's immediately punked and his Title is stolen or something. WWE put too much stock in some Titles and think that simply being a Champ is enough to negate losing every single match. Why should the fans care about a jobber enough to show him a reaction?

Pretty much sums it up. Fans aren't often going to boo a guy they don't feel invested against.

His Bad News gimmick was fine. I don't think it was out of gas at all. But when you get jobbed to irrelevant people like Sin Cara and R-Truth as well as see your mic time reduced greatly, your heat fades away.

Especially when quality speak time is central to Wade's gimmick.

An 8 minute filler in a 3 hour show that's all he is now;

First 20 minute & last 10 minutes are story segments; + midcard Miz/dow which gets some attention.

The rest is side-quest shittery like Barrett where he comes out, no reaction. You get a few people excited, "Wow he's quite tall" & then the next 5 minutes it's looking at phone & sitting on your hands until his or his opponents victory theme hits & you wake up, waiting for Adam Rose or jobber to arrive for the next match.

He got injured, lost his momentum and hasnt been able to get the crowd back. He should of stuck with the rising podium I got some bad news thing, instead of the wannabee TMZ thing their doing now.

Its funny cuz the post WM smark crowd booed mysterio over BNB, he had a decent match with RVD for the IC and the crowd was 50/50 then he had bad timing w/the injury and now he's not really getting any reaction.

The Bad News bit would get over as a face more than it will ever be successful as a heel. He needs to turn after WrestleMania and the Ambrose program is done.

The podium interruptions would be perfect if he was booked against heels, anyone from Miz (light hearted comedy), to this "main event heel" Sheamus which is planned (torment leading to brutal, physical matches).

In fact, if Sheamus is pushed as a top heel, Barrett has to turn face or he is only playing second fiddle with similar styles and traits. As much as I'm not a fan of the Irish fool, I would gladly watch those two go at it repeatedly. Barrett v Sheamus could be Bad News' true defining program.

After that, Barrett v Cesaro, Barrett v Rusev, Barrett v Wyatt, Barrett v Kevin Owens. Physicality off the charts

When he came back from injury people seemed to want to cheer him. Instead the WWE decided to keep him heel, give him next to no mic time, and have him lose every non-title match he wrestled, including against a jobber like Sin Cara. Shit booking is ruining his career.

None of this is Barrett's fault.

Can he get pops? Yeah, his time before got injured as IC Champ, when he wasn't jobbing, his entrances always got him big pops. If he isn't getting reactions, it's not that he's unskilled at getting them, it's that he's so irrelevant that he can't them.

WWE took the actual Bad News portion of Barrett's gimmick and just left him with the name. Rusev and Rollins are hugely over, if you stripped them of their gimmicks and constantly make them job, the crowd wouldn't care for them either. If someone like Titus was booked to actually win and got mic time, I'd guarantee he'd get over.

I don't know if it's just the huge mark in me, but I feel like Barrett's stepping it up in-ring too. Plus, he's not flabby anymore, Wade's is super buff now. He's on the best shape of his life, and Barrett has the fucking look.

Also, what the hell was the point of getting rid of God Save Our Queen? Seems like WWE doesn't want him to get pops.

Just like how Raws are shitty, the blame for talents not getting over goes to WWE.

It's not really surprising, and I'm sure its been mentioned here already but when you lose every week either to established wrestlers or not...the fans won't care for you

He is a heel, casuals wanted as a face when he came back from injury. When they did not get what they wanted, they just ignored him (look at the new shiny hairdo we got instead).

Casuals do not get invested in wrestlers, only storylines.

He needs more mic time. The BNB stuff was great, then he got injured, came back, and hasn't really delivered bad news since. People liked it, at least that's how I saw it. Maybe since he's supposed to be a heel and get booed, that's hard to do when you're so entertaining being a cartoony jerk of a villain and everyone loves it. But at the same time, that's kind of pulling the rug out from under him. About as bad as taking the giant swing away from Cesaro due to the cheers.

He needs to not be IC champion, though. This is his 5th reign and I can't even remember his past 4. As soon as he gets that belt, his life goes to shit. I'm amazed that's not a storyline yet. Just change his name to "Bad Luck Barrett" when he has the strap and have him avoid death every show. Like, literally, I wanna see some Final Destination shit happen back stage lol.

Have him take the title to New Orleans in a vignette and have him hunt down Papa Shango to decipher the curse on the belt and remove it. Only Shango fucks up and makes the curse worse. It get so bad has the belt melted down and has a new one on a black strap made lol.

It wouldn't do a damn thing to make the IC title look any better, but damn if that wouldn't be fucking hilariously entertaining. Who doesn't want to see a totally paranoid, red eyed, fully bearded, Barrett trying not to die every day while running away from Dean Ambrose?

That's the other thing, WWE doesn't do nearly enough off the wall things with their talent anymore. In the attitude era, that would have been a 2 month angle and would have been looked at fondly in some countdown special on the Network lol.

I love Barrett and think he's gotten screwed over many times but yeah he gets crickets now so they might as well use him to get over guys and take him off tv for a while and repackage him somewhat. Thought he had a legit shot at taking the WHC back when Sheamus had the belt would've been a great storyline for a British Isles tour playing off the old rivalry between the two countries.

Barrett is done.

It's the same old formula with WWE. Develop a character a certain way, in this case change Barrett's name, give him that elevating podium, mic time during his entrances and even recently the utterly pointless 'BNZ', and then start to slowly strip it all away until you're left with the bare bones which is exactly what he is right now.

The gimmick is gone, he's losing meaningless matches and soon to lose the title.

Fair enough, they may have gone cold on him (probably thinking he's injury prone, or whatever) and can't put him in an elevated position but there's no need to trash the IC title while you're there.
