Even during a main event promo after a PPV, where it is not obvious which the next feud will be, the crowd completely shits all over the segment before it even gets started with a "Daniel Bryan" and "Yes" chant. To me, this is extremely disrespectful to the performers in the ring.
Could you see this happening back in 2004 when Triple H and Shawn Michaels were feuding for what seemed like the one-hundredth time? Imagine an "Eddie" or "Benoit" chant randomly breaking out in that situation. It would be disrespectful then, just as it is now.
And in case you blind marks still don't get it, just imagine a main event with Bryan and Punk, only for "Ziggler" chants to break out. Would that be acceptable?
If the fans want Bryan in the main event, then cheer him during his segments and buy his merchandise. Sabotaging the whole show just because your favorite wrestler is not the champion is really petty, and I don't see why the people on this forum are tolerating it.
The reason they chant Daniel Bryan as much as possible is because the crowds are protesting him being yet again sent back to the Midcard all because Cena and Orton want to have the big moment of unifying the belts all to themselves. The fact that the first new era unified champion is going to be one of the fuckers that has already essentially dominated the last decade already is just fucked up to me. Why would they not want the first new undisputed champion to be a guy they could ride through the next decade? Cena and Orton are going to retire within the next 10 years, Bank on it.
John Cena is turning 37 soon...Let that sink in for a minute. Yes, its not out of the question for a guy to continue wrestling at some level until his late 40 or even his 50s. However he will at some point start showing signs of his age, and will become that craft vet that is mostly there to push the young guys...How many more years at the top do people really think he has in him? You look at the longest pushes any guys were ever given as the face of a wrestling company and I think Cena already has the record, or is damn close to it. Not only that, but its a sheer fact that over half of the last decade, John Cena was the champion, over two thirds of the time, he was competing for the championship, John Cena in one Decade has the second longest title reign in the past 25 years, and has won the WWE championship 11 times, the WHC 3 times, Total of 14 title reigns in 10 years, and is on course to be the first new undisputed champion. It begs the question of what else is left for this dude to do and, honestly he does not have much more time to do it. The crowds are so sick of John Cena right now that the ratings for anything he is on, is lower than something without him. They boo him out of every arena and people are just so sick of this guy it hurts. He literally has been THE GUY for over a decade.
Orton is largely in the same boat about not being a young guy anymore, He is 33 which is not really that old all things considering, BUT he has been wrestling at the top for a long time, since 2000, Further, he already has 2 strikes on his wellness policy which is another reason I believe Cena will get the strap come the PPV time. But the main thing with him is that he is essentially the guy that is champion whenever Cena isn't. These two have fought so many times that its literally impossible to get excited for it again. He has been WWE champion 8 times, WHC 3 times, total of 11 title reigns. I love Orton, and have honestly always felt he was better than Cena (kinda like how a lot of us liked Savage more than Hogan, even though Hogan was always booked better) but Orton has even worn on me.
Further, both of these guys are royal rumble winners, former tag team champions, former IC champions, US champions, MITB winners...and have main evented nearly every PPV between them for years...To sum up that entire rant...WE ARE SICK OF ORTON VS CENA!!!
Why they would not want to go with Punk vs bryan...I just dont understand that, and yes I am aware Punk and Bryan are also in their 30s, what I mostly look at is how long they have been at the top level
