Did WWE intentionally waste Wrestlemania 29 because it was one away from WM 30?
Even before the wrestlemania 29 matches were announced, i know this wrestlemania was going to been one of the most boring ones out there. We knew it was going to be rock vs cena 2. But besides that, we didn't even know who undertaker was going to face at wrestlemania a few months before so we knew this wasn't going to be a big match where there is a chance undertaker would lose. Then you had CM Punk fued with Undertaker and anyone that knows wrestling knew there was 0 percent chance he was going to end the streak. The buildup wasn't even that long and it seemed like everything was just done all too late. Does anyone else agree?
It felt like wm 29 wasn't even going to be big because it was one before wrestlemania 30. To me, it felt like wwe wouldn't even put the best possible matches out there because if they do, then wrestlemania 30 wouldn't be that big. Does anyone else agree on this? I mean when you look at the card and look at the months before wm 29, you could clearly see there was nothing special at all about this wrestlemania and the year before that was better b/c it was the first time rock faced cena.
Im not sure if my title makes sense but i think you guys know what im trying to say? Its like imagine giving a performance one week and then having to do another performance the following week which is the big one. Then you dont want to make the 1st performance wm 29 special at all b/c if you do, then 30 might not be better. I mean there were talks about cm punk and austin about having a match but anyone with a clue knew this wouldn't happen at wrestlemania 29. If anything it would happen at the big one 30. The same thing with cena vs undertaker.
The only good thing about this wrestlemania was vince actually made the metlife stadium look very good and it was in ny/nj. However, it seemed like such a wasted wrestlemania. No match in the card that you look at would make you go wow i like to see that match. I mean punk vs taker we want to see but seriously everyone knew cm punk was not going to end the streak. Yes the match was good but we all know what would happen. And then of course we knew cena would get his redemption. I felt like wwe intentionally didn't want to make wm 29 the big one because it wasn't the big 30.
Anyone here think this? I mean wrestlemania 19, they had austin vs rock. And back then they made sure to get the best matches that we wanted to see. Now, its like they just doing stuff for show like the metlife stadium design with the statue of liberty and not even giving a damn about the matches.
