Default Which Wrestlemania Matches Should Not Have Been the Main Event?

Wrestlemania 19 was between the rock and stone cold. I read someone mentioned that there were fans that left after that match even though the main event was brock lesnar facing kurt angle but that was for the wwe title. Which main event match should not have been the main event?

The match that i seen thats not wrestlemania that should not have been the main event was that match between brock lesnar and triple h at extreme rules. Should have been Cena vs Ryback.

8 Flair/Savage should have went on last. For starters, it was a WWF title match. Plus Hogan/Sid didn't even have a proper ending.

11 HBK/Diesel over Bigelow/LT. The Diesel match was for the WWF title and the babyface won. The LT match was just a special attraction.

18 Hogan/Rock should have went on last over HHH/Jericho and I don't even like that Hogan match.

25 Michaels/Taker should have closed instead of HHH/Orton.

Should've closed Mania:

Batista Vs. Undertaker at 23 - Better match than Cena Vs. Michaels

Cena Vs. Batista at 26 - I didn't give a flying fuck about Michaels getting his ass kicked by Undertaker again

Edge Vs. Del Rio at 27 - because Cena Vs. Miz was drizzling shit

Default Re: Which Wrestlemania Matches Should Not Have Been the Main Event?

Wrestlemania 2 = Yeah yeah, Hogan Vs. Bundy happened before there was any kind of real standard for Wrestlemania main events, and I have nothing against Bundy, and yes the first (and only) Steel Cage match in Mania history is significant, but I still think they could have done something bigger than just feeding another big guy to Hogan. Maybe this should have been the final Hogan Vs. Piper confrontation. I have also always wondered what it would have been like if they did Hogan Vs. Bruno. Now that would have been interesting.

Wrestlemania VIII = The only justification for Hogan/Sid closing was the return of The Ultimate Warrior, which was admittedly a huge shock and closed the show with a huge bang. But, Flair/Savage should have closed. The big title change also felt special and would have made a more suitable closer.

Wrestlemania IX = That ending with Hogan stealing the title was horseshit. Again, there was one justification for it in my mind and that was a Hogan/Bret Title match down the road, but it never happened, so fuck it.

Wrestlemania XI = You know, a lot of people say LT Vs. Bam Bam had no business closing, but honestly, HBK Vs. Diesel wasn't that great either. And the title didn't even change hands anyway, so it wasn't like the fans were deprived of a huge moment to close the show with. I don't know what to say about this one. This whole show was just fucked from square one.

Wrestlemania 13 = Sort of like Wrestlemania XI, this whole show was fucked, so I could say that Sid/Taker shouldn't have closed and that the I Quit Match was far more powerful to end on, but that would have been hard to justify since Austin wasn't a main eventer megastar yet. But it was the only thing on the show that wasn't lame bullshit, so what the hell does one do in that situation?

Wrestlemania 2000 = The 4 Way shouldn't have been a 4 way at all. It should have been The Rock Vs. HHH all along with Rock winning the title. The 4 way with HHH retaining felt like a B PPV ending and not worthy of the huge price tag this show had.

Wrestlemania X-8 = Hogan Vs. Rock should have closed. I say it. Almost everybody says it. Not just because it was the bigger match and the match that the event was sold on, but because nobody gave two shits about HHH Vs. Jericho with that awful storyline.

Wrestlemania 22 = Fuck Cena Vs. HHH. Edge should have been in the main event this year. Him Vs. Cena, Vs. RVD, Vs. HHH, Vs. HHH Vs. Cena in a 3 way, Vs. all three in a 4 way, I don't give a fuck. Edge should have been the constant.

Wrestlemania 23 = Undertaker defeating Batista and winning the title was a much bigger deal than Cena winning AGAIN, so yeah, I would have liked that match to close.

Wrestlemania XXV = Nobody gave two shits about HHH Vs. Orton. HBK Vs. Taker should have closed because, well, fuck it, nothing else was going to follow it.

Wrestlemania XXVII = Jesus H Christ, this is another one where it was like "What on Earth do you close with?" because not a whole lot really warranted it. Edge Vs. Del Rio? No. Punk Vs. Orton? I liked the match & feud, but no. I guess Cole Vs. Lawler deserved it the most based on its build up...but it is fucking Cole Vs. Lawler and it was the worst fucking thing to ever grace a Wrestlemania ring. I don't know why a match between two announcers was more built up than anything else and I'll never be able to understand it. I guess HHH Vs. Taker should have closed. I don't fucking know. The real main event, Cena Vs. Miz, was just a prelude to The Rock, so nothing else really mattered. I guess Rock's presence was the only factor that made this match worthy of main eventing, but even that was a stretch. Miz had already been relegated to background character by this point anyway. Again, who the fuck knows?

Wrestlemania XXIX = Nobody wanted to see Rock Vs. Cena II. Seriously. It wasn't a bad match overall, but nobody truly cared. They could have done Cena Vs. Rock Vs. CM Punk as champion in a 3 Way.

I'd definitely agree with these four.

WM VII: Savage Vs Warrior should have closed, especially given the post-match. I understand that this is a point where the WWF Championship actually meant something and Hogan was the star but Savage and Warrior was a classic, meant more, had more time put into it as a feud and had that amazing post-match with the Macho-Liz reunion.

WM VIII: Savage/Flair>Sid/Hogan. I still believe that they should have held off on doing Flair/Hogan as a house show match and saved it for Wrestlemania. Sid... Fucking Sid...

WM IX: No, Hogan jobbing Yoko for no apparent reason in 5 seconds shouldn't have closed Mania 9.

WM XI: It's six of one and half a dozen of the other with this. Diesel Vs Shawn was better but not by much. I'd still have had that match close ahead of LT/Bam-Bam.

WM XIII: Similar to WM VII, Stone Cold Vs Bret Hart should have gone over Sid/Taker. Taker's first Wrestlemania Title win was great and everything but damn. Bret Hart Vs Stone Cold for the WWF Title in an "I Quit" Match would have made Wrestlemania XIII feel like a much better show, right?

WM XVI: Rock Vs Triple H. No needed for the McMahons, Big Show and Foley to all be involved.

WM XVIII: Jericho Vs Triple H was never going to be able to follow Hogan Vs Rock. That was THE match on this show, therefore, it should have been the Main Event.

WM XXII: Ugh. I'd have closed with Mysterio winning the title. Would have made the moment feel more legitimate for me. It was the better of the two title matches (not saying much, I know) but, given more time, it could have been great.

WM XXV: Same as XVIII. Taker/HBK was THE match, should have closed.

The only main event that really pisses me off when I remember is WM2000.

WM2000 indeed felt like a B-PPV main event! It should have been Rock vs HHH with Rock winning the title. Backlash 2000 is where WM2000's main event took place.
