Lesnar will get this win and Punk will get the win in the rematch but it wont be clean.

But considering that heels have come out on top many times (hell, including Punk's entire heel run from last year) including Lesnar against TRIPLE H, I think they can work it out.
The only issue with this theory man, is that HHH is not a full-timer and could easily afford to lose the feud. Punk, however, cannot. Like I mentioned before I believe match will play out with Punk trying to keep his distance from Brock while laying in kicks and when Brock's down he'll wear him down with submissions. Of course Brock will eventually get his hands on Brock and will rightfully dominate in those situations, but I think Punk will ultimately come out on top after surprising Brock with a GTS with his knee pad pulled down like this:

Go to 4:29 in

That way it makes sense that it would put Brock down long enough for the pinfall. The one thing WWE absolutely NEEDS to avoid in this match though, is booking Punk to Brawl straight up with Brock or trying to out-wrestle him. That would be damaging to Brock, but doing it my way won't be.

Post-match, you can easily have Brock lay Punk out so he has to be stretchered out of the arena the way it was supposed to happen with Cena, and then Brock comes out of the match with even more credibility then he had going in, regardless of taking the loss.

CM Punk. Heyman needs his comeuppance and Punk is the babyface, makes no sense for Punk to lose.

My question is OP, How would this feud have happened/started w/o Heyman being a focal point?

I see it the opposite way round.

They're not going to kill Brock's credibility by having him job out to a 195lb guy. He's going to beat Punk and then Punk will finally GTS Heyman after the match so the face can still stand tall without having to win the match.

the story here is heyman vs Punk, is more meaningful that anything Lesnar can do with Punk. And him being the beast Heyman calls on to face Punk is very comic-book like, I love it!

And how can someone be opposed to heyman vs Punk promo wise? We are going to get gold from both of them.

And the story actually means something, that's always good.

Punk needs this win more than Lesnar. For both to save face, Punk can collapse the next night on Raw because he took so much damage from Lesnar. It makes both guys look strong.

Bolded the dumb parts.

Brock has no backbone now? When you're ready to get back to reality, let us know.

Punk wouldn't crush shit on the mic either. Brock could just break Punk's face if he insulted him. Alpha male badassery trumps mouth-running clowns who can't back it up.

The lynch pin of Punk getting over people on the mic (as is the case for just about anyone who gets over on the mic) is that he's booked to not be countered effectively. It isn't that Punk is good on the mic. If, for example, The Rock punched CM Punk in his face like he should have when Punk made the "boxing with god" comment, then it looks like Punk wrote a check his ass couldn't cash and looks like a fool. Instead, Rock was booked to say an d do nothing so Punk looked good.
