Re: CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar - THE BEST VS. THE BEAST

If this match closes the show, I can't see Lesnar winning - it'd be too much of a retread of SS2012's ending. But if Cena/Bryan closes I could certainly see either man winning, but I don't think there'll be a rematch.

In my pipe-dream booking, Punk would overcome Lesnar and use that momentum to launch himself into a WHC feud, winning the thing and defending it for a couple of months. Meanwhile, the Orton/Bryan/Cena triangle continues, and before long Cena emerges with the belt again. Both Punk and Cena would lay claim to being the 'true' champion, leading to a unification main-event at Mania 30. Rumble winner challenges the Streak instead.

Either way, I expect Punk/Lesnar will have a great underdog vs monster vibe that'll surpass the Trips matches with ease, even if it doesn't quite touch Lesnar/Cena's brutality.

Re: CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar - THE BEST VS. THE BEAST

Brock's going to win thanks to a Heyman interference. Punk will want Brock again at Night of Champions but Heyman declines and instead Punk gets Axel, Punk wins due to disqualification at NOC due to Heyman and then at Hell In A Cell it'll be Punk vs Lesnar one more time where Punk will win.

As things stand I can see this match going either way, but I have a feeling Punk may win.

If you were doing the matches that close together it would be better to do the opposite wouldn't it, Punk wins at SS and Brock at HIAC.

either way Brock isn't working HIAC, if he works before WrestleMania again it will be Royal Rumble.

Re: CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar - THE BEST VS. THE BEAST

Here's some updated news on the feud and finish:

Quote:
Brock Lesnar is scheduled for Monday Night Raw next week in Green Bay. We’re told there has been talk for weeks about CM Punk launching a hardcore attack on Lesnar to sell the legitimacy of their bout at SummerSlam. The premise being that Punk has “lost it” and is capable of beating Lesnar, despite the size difference between them. There are still a lot of questions about the finish to the match at SummerSlam and no real answers. One observer says they wouldn’t be shocked if it was put solely into the hands of Triple H and Punk to call what is the best moving forward.

"Return to me again empty-handed, and I will bathe the starways in your blood."

Thanos is only beaten because he allows himself to be, and he only allows himself to be beaten because, in spite of his ambition to attain ultimate power, he sub-consciously knows that he's not worthy of it.

^ Triple H and Punk?

Why would you let Punk decide what's best for the finish of his own match? That's like Kevin Nash booking himself in the late-WCW years.

I like the idea of Punk destroying Lesnar at a RAW episode to shock viewers and make it look as if Punk can hold his own. But nonetheless, Brock has to get his hand raised at the end of Summerslam.

No he doesn't. Punk needs the win just as bad as Brock does.

You just don't get it.

Brock is a guy you'll never see again -- a UFC, WWE hybrid. His career trajectory is unique.

There will be many others like Punk, but there will never be another Brock.

Brock is the bigger star. He's the better talent (in-ring + charisma). He's the one that has to win.

If Punk needed a win so badly, then they shouldn't have put him against Brock. Put him against Ryback or Henry instead.

The bold is just not true. Brock is great in-ring for sure but he's not better than Punk currently. I would say it was a good argument to say he was back when he was here full-time but not currently.

I'm still sticking by what I originally predicted would happen with this match. Either Punk will win if they are only having one match together, or Brock will win if they will face each other more than once.

It really makes no difference who's the bigger star, because you don't grow your starpower without credible victories over bigger stars than you.

Also, both sides make valid points for why either man should win but ultimately I think WWE values Punk more in their long-term success, which is why I think he comes out of this feud victorious, whether it be at Summerslam or another ppv.

You should have been saying this before Brock lost his first match back. Unfortunately, his aura just isn't the same. A win for Punk does a lot more for the WWE at this point.
