Re: CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar - THE BEST VS. THE BEAST

Wish Brock would bust out some old moves against Punk, i know he has a different persona now and all that, and maybe that affects how he works a match, but it would be nice if he busts out some belly to belly suplexes, press power slams etc.......if he is allowed

Tried to keep it simple lol I know he is using his UFC persona now (id imagine that is a joint decision or do you reckon that is what 'creative' has instructed considering he insists on wearing the UFC gear)

Not really. It used to be that if you feuded with a main eventer and went over in the feud then you could be elevated and become a big main event star. Like The Rock, Triple H and Randy Orton with Mick Foley or Stone Cold with Shawn Michaels. But in today's WWE things are different. You don't technically have go over big stars in order to be a bigger star, simply feuding with a big star and how you are booked in the feud is what makes you a star. Of course most people in the IWC have very high expectations and I think that's why sometimes we're not satisfied with how a wrestler is booked, so we look down on them. It's why Chris Jericho is always treated as a jobber by the IWC, but in WWE he's treated as a big deal and they seem to ignore that he loses all the time.

That being said. He's beaten John Cena so he has a victory over a legit main eventer and had a long WWE championship reign to add to that. That along with the fact that he's wrestled with main event stars in Triple H, Undertaker, The Rock and now Brock Lesnar pretty much makes him a big star. So yeah I would consider Punk to be a big star by today's standards.

Favorite Wrestlers Of All Time - The Undertaker, The Rock, Stone Cold, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and Edge

Nuff said.
You mean the main eventer who always loses to the bigger stars? Ok...

Brock Lesnar is main eventing WrestleMania 30. He isn't losing to some guy who WWE doesn't even think is worthy of main eventing WrestleMania over The Miz.

Or you could say that Lesnar is the same guy who jobbed twice to HHH and Cena and has admitted that he is only doing it for the money. He isn't the type of guy who cares about win/loss records so he is just being used to give others momentum and big wins. CM Punk losing to big stars is a reason why I think he will beat Lesnar. The win against Lesnar will compensate those losses and make him look like a threat again.

Honestly, who gives a fuck what he's doing it for? Lesnar jobbed to Cena because it was Vince's way of punishing him for leaving in 2004, and he lost to Triple H because Triple H is the egomaniac who runs the company and always has to get his win back on somebody he beats so he doesn't look like he's lowering himself. He's supremely insecure and has nearly unlimited power, of course he beat Lesnar. We're talking about CM Punk here, not Cena or Triple H. And Lesnar is going into WrestleMania next, no less. They don't want their special attraction looking bad.

Clearly THEY care about his win/loss record which is why as soon as he lost to Triple H, he promptly got his win back to even things up. We probably won't see Brock until Mania, and he's scheduled to fight Undertaker at this point, so you better believe he's winning.

For what? What's he gonna be doing until he wins the Royal Rumble, in SIX MONTHS? Probably not a whole hell of a lot tbh. They're more focused on protecting Lesnar which is precisely the reason the Punk match is happening, to give him fodder to beat to up his stats so that when he faces Taker he has a winning record and the last thing we saw of Lesnar, he was destroying a main eventer.
