If the Cenation thought John Cena’s schedule as a WWE Champion would get any easier once he turned back the sizable challenge of Ryback at WWE Payback, they were sorely mistaken.

At Money in the Bank on July 14, The Champ will face a new monster of a contender in the form of Mark Henry, the 400-pound-plus powerhouse who thrives on causing pain and appears bent not just on destruction, but also on capturing the WWE Title around Cena’s waist.

Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero made the championship bout official on the June 17 edition of Raw after The World’s Strongest Man callously leveled Cena only one night removed from The Champ’s Three Stages of Hell Match against Ryback. In the moments immediately preceding the attack, Henry delivered what many believed to be a heartfelt swan song meant to cap off a stellar 17-year career in WWE. Instead, Henry’s retirement speech was merely a ruse, a setup used to lull a respectful Cena into a false sense of security and make him easy prey.

Now, the Cenation leader and Henry are on a collision course for July 14, and if Cena loyalists aren't concerned about their hero’s title reign — not to mention his physical well-being — they ought to be.

Ill-tempered even on the best of days, Henry is sporting a huge chip on his shoulder, and it seemingly has everything to do with a single objective: winning the WWE Championship that has eluded him in his near two decades of competition. WWE fans will remember that Henry set his sights on Cena the night after WrestleMania 29, only to have another monster, Ryback, steal the spotlight with a high-profile act of betrayal.

Lost in the commotion was the fact that Henry pinned Ryback on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Considering how much trouble Cena had overcoming the Shell Shocking Superstar in recent months, will he be up to the challenge of Mark Henry, one of WWE’s few competitors to hold a completely valid pinfall victory over “The Human Wrecking Ball”?

Henry also takes a discomforting amount of pride in being the reckless and ruthless gatekeeper of the “Hall of Pain.” The list of Superstars who have been put out of action by the superheavyweight is lengthy, reading like a “Who’s who” of WWE. Could The Champ — who’s been plagued by injuries as varied as bone chips in his elbow to a nearly torn meniscus to a torn Achilles tendon — be walking into the most dangerous match of his 11th WWE Title reign at Money in the Bank?

Find out what happens when Cena’s indefatigable spirit is put to the test by more than 400 pounds of bad attitude and bone-breaking expertise. To watch all the action, catch WWE Money in the Bank live on pay-per-view on Sunday, July 14.

I'm looking forward to the the feud but Henry has about a 0.1% chance of taking the championship from Cena. Which is a damn shame. Cena will probably lose it on MITB cash in.

I'm actually expecting Henry to win now or stay in the feud until a triple threat match OR fatal four way with Cena, Bryan and possibly Kane.

I think Cena-Bryan will be saved for Wrestlemania. I really can't imagine Cena - Taker for this year. I actually see Lesnar - Taker being more likely now.

Fuck what you see the Rock is as much black as he is Samoan idiots like you really piss me off with asinine comments like "Oh he has more Polynesian features and he doesn't resemble a regular black man so he'snot really black" Please stfu.:cussin::cussin:

Rock is non-white, which kind of negates the "white champions only" rule. However, he was also a massive money-maker during a competitive time in wrestling, so it's easy to doubt that he would have broken the glass ceiling during any other period.

Really hope Mark Henry wins, then retains at Summerslam, then following night on Raw Cena attacks Henry And Bryan cashes in his mitb brief case!!

We shouldn't be talking about a token "thankyou" reign for Mark Henry, he fucking deserves it, I just wonder what he could do if the WWE had the faith to put him over, give him the ball and run with it.

Sadly, I bet it hasn't even crossed there mind, over the next few PPV's Cena's going over 2 absolute stars in Henry, then Bryan.

You don't get 'Thank You' WWE Championship reigns, its a 'main eventers only' championship, if they feel like rewarding him that's what the upper midcard World Title is for.

Also John Cena vs Daniel Bryan is pretty much a lock for Summerslam.

He's not a main eventer. If Sheamus,Miz,and Alberto Del Floppo can be WWE champions and not even be that over why can't Henry get a thank you transitional title run where he drops it at Summerslam in a triple threat between Bryan,Henry, and Cena.

Can't believe there's chat over who's "the more black"

Wow! is all I can say really.

On the subject of Henry... add me to the list of people who can't wait to see this feud, and to the list of people who wants to see Henry win, and have a run as WWE champion. That would be a pretty amazing end to a career which peaked in the latter days.

Sure this is a transitional feud for John Cena. Mark Henry will just be another guy to put Cena's reign more over. I would be very surprised and happy if Mark Henry beat Cena cleanly in the middle of the ring, but it's not going to happen. They want Cena/Bryan for Summerslam, so it's the best thing to do.

not sure if true there is rumor going around that they might do Ryback vs Cena vs Henry at SummerSlam.

if thats true Cena will probably get cashed in at SS (unless Ryback wins MITB and cashes in that night)

Want Henry to get his much deserved WWE title, but at the same time I want a credible WWE Champion John Cena to put over Daniel Bryan....just don't know what to choose :( It just would seem right if say Henry won the title at MITB and Bryan wins MITB and sets up a triple threat between Bryan,Cena, and Henry at SummerSlam with Bryan winning the title and having John Cena chase him for the title...just doesn't seem right.

Just to clarify people, Rock wasn't a black champion. He was Samoan. Yes his Father was black, but his skin was clearly Samoan, unless someone here wants to play the "they all look the same really" card. And more then that he was treated as a Samoan, if not, I doubt he would have been as successful as he was.

Not that it actually matters

In what universe is Rock black? I swear, people are color blind these days.....
He's the same skin tone as Obama and Obama is classified as black despite being mixed race. Black people come in the most skin tones out of any other color on the planet. If you're going to call Obama black, you have to call the Rock black... in fact, the Rock would be even MORE black than Obama considering Somoans have African ancestry. So whereas Obama is 50% white and 50% black but is still labelled black, Rock's composition would be more like 70-80% black. He doesn't have to look it to BE it. Heard of the Hodge Twins?

And to that guy that posted a pitch black box to try and make a point go fuck yourself.

EDIT:

But I see the idea behind it, you guys are insinuating that there will never be an African American WWE Champion that looks TYPICALLY BLACK as long as Vince is around, and I agree.

Luv Henry but he has a limited arsenal of moves. I'm afraid it's gonna be a pokemon match.

So...am I the only one who thinks Henry HAS to win the title? Like...he has to win. His work up to this point has been nothing short of phenomenal. He's cutting the best promo's out of anybody in the company and if the WWE had the balls to let him run with the belt for a while I think he could actually be a great WWE champion. A great HEEL WWE champion.

No question Henry deserves the title more than Cena. Vince needs to let someone who has put all their heart and effort into the business win and not someone who just gets handed out wins and titles every god damn PPV to make his 10 year old fans happy.
