Point being if Rock wants to be there he's earned it over Austin. He's also a bigger star than Austin is and will draw more.

What's this about The Rock returning to take the company to new heights? All he did was face Cena and put over a guy who was already the top guy in the company for nearly a decade.

Austin is a legend. To imply that he hasn't earned the option of having a match at Wrestlemania is odious and probably means you haven't been watching for very long. Back when Rock and Austin were in their primes, Austin was THE guy. He is the person just about everyone thinks of when they hear "Attitude Era"... one of the most, if not the most popular era in the company's history. Thing is, hes been retired for just about 10 years... and he isn't obligated to show up and wrestle anymore like The Rock has done recently.

Yeah, I have no Idea where this "new heights" stuff comes from. WWE is still not "cool" to watch....same as it was before the Rock came back. Same as its been for like a decade now.

Yeah and he returned to put on the biggest feud possible with that superstar too. You can complain about quality all you want but it was a commercial success so end discussion.

Of course he's earned the right to have a match but the world revolves around money and make no mistake about Austin is no different than Hogan or Rock in that regards. He's going to demand the Main Event and top draw pay and that's not something he's entitled to. If it's there Hell yeah he deserves it, but the stars have to align for that and simply put WWE will put Rock above him and rightfully so. He is the bigger star whose willing to work more events. That's why Austin is a backup plan.

In a perfect world you could have Rock v Lesnar, Cena v Taker, and Austin v Punk on the same PPV, but in the real world that will equal to a very heavy expense column killing your profits.

Just because it was a commercial success doesn't mean it took the company to new heights. That's not very convincing. The company is in the same position now as it was before he came back. A roster full of directionless talent and ONE guy is considered a big name.

As for who is a bigger draw, I just can't look at him as nothing more than a backup plan. We've never seen him have a return match, so obviously there are no results for what the buyrates would be like. But we're talking about a guy who is possibly the biggest star the company has ever had.

If you go back to my previous you'll clearly see the word TRIED. Long term you won't see the effects of the rivalry until Cena starts to hand over the company to the youth. Whether that's Hogan v Warrior style or heel turn.

Fair point, but I see Austin's return the same way I see Hogan's in 02. Fans dig it short term, commercially disappointing. 50 years old is 50 years old. Rock's not drawing based off his past and nostalgia (we've seen how quickly that wore off). He draws because he's an international movie star.

Austin's return would no way be long term he would return for 1 match and 1 match only and it will be very successful and it would be a true once in a life time match.

He's actually said he's willing to work more than one match and would like to work with Cena as well. Heel Cena vs face Austin could be a very good feud people are sleeping on.

I wouldn't be against Austin working one final program/match at Mania. I think it would be cool to see him come back & give the younger generation a glimpse of greatness like Rock did.

I think Austin and Rock will both come back. Something tells me that WM 30 is going to be a big one, especially if we get Brock vs Rock, Austin vs Punk, and Taker vs Cena (or Taker vs Cena vs Ryback in a 3 man elimination match) closing the show. There is no reason those three matches can't be booked for WM 30, and that they can't make it an outstanding WM. They have so many good options in front of them.

I'm saying this with the utmost respect my dear friend, but this is the worst idea for a match in the history of the internet.
