Was planning to, depending upon the price. I heard the magic number was £1,500 but many people said they could have done it for less if they did it themselves and worked out everything to the cheapest. However, your calculations make it a lot closer to £2,000 and plus you need money for food etc and I was told the £1,500 included 'basic' spending money (so you couldn't buy merch etc). I would have to go alone because no one would go with me so that kinda sucks. £2,000 at my age is so much, I don't even have that but I'm such a huge fan I want to go asap.
Edit: I've seen where yours make it more expensive (7 nights in the hotel, although it was be good to see the actual place so New Orleans, price is a big factor). Although £1,500 still seems a bit of a squeeze but I'm sure you could find cheaper versions.
- Is your ticket (for WM) on the same level as a silver travel package ticket? Cos I heard they were alright tickets but not the best but looking at the seating chart it looks like you're a lot closer to the ring than to the back of the stadium/arena/dome.
I went alone this year. Like yourself I was apprehensive beforehand, but it turned out great. There were lots of people to talk to at the shows themselves and on the transport to and from the shows.
The hotel I stayed in was certainly more expensive due to the location. I'm looking to spend less than half that if I decide to go to New Orleans. My line of thinking with the hotel in NY was 'this is also a trip to New York City, and I want to be able to see the city without any hassle.' I was literally on the doorstep of Times Square, and about 8 blocks from MSG and Penn Station (for the train to the Meadowlands). As far as New Orleans is concerned I'm not particularly interested in the city, just the WrestleMania week activities, so I'd likely get a cheaper hotel close to the stadium.
From what I've seen of the silver package seats they are on the same level but tended to be in more awkward positions, such as in the corner or to the left of the stadium, behind the announcers. As far as my ticket is concerned, I was very happy with the view I had. I was close enough to actually be able to see the ring, and had a complete view of the stage too. The more expensive tier up from mine was for floor seats, which I wouldn't have been happy with.
I'll upload some pictures from my seat once I've got them off my camera.

It does seem to be much simpler to buy a package, however if you want to stay for more than 4 nights in the hotel you'll have to book the additional nights yourself. It's also a lot of money to drop at once, but if you have the money to hand and prefer to avoid the hassle then it's probably worth it. I know some people hate the stress of trying to bag good tickets on Ticketmaster when they're released.
