So Wrestlemania 29 has ended which means the road to the big anniversary Wrestlemania XXX begins!!

It may seem early creating this thread but packages will be on sale around 12 weeks time, a lot of people will be planning their trip like myself.

Who's planning on going? looking to buy the packages or buy everything separate? What should we expect and get up too in New Orleans?

I went to WM28 on the silver packages which were great, unfortunately couldn't attend WM29 but 30 is a must for me.

Fuck no... Never again...

I spent over 2,000 on a NYC trips only to have Vince and friends shit all over my face with an underwhelming show, if it weren't for the excelent Punk-taker I wouldve fucking fliped.

I feel you there! I haven't enjoyed a Mania card top to bottom since 22. I'll be damned if I spend $2000 and travel thousands of miles to watch Diddy perform and witness Khali dancing with midgets. When the product drastically improves, I'll be inclined to travel for a Mania.

Re: Wrestlemania XXX Travel Thread.

I should have went to last night's Mania as I'm only a 5 hour drive from NYC but it just wasn't in the cards. Definitely hoping to go to Mania 30.

Those traveling here in the states, how much did you spend altogether?

There's about a 90% chance i'm going now after talking it over with friends. Hoping to book a hotel soon over the summer before tickets go out on sale (if you're allowed to do that), I'm not willing to spend more than 1,500 dollars though.. If my calculations are correct here's how much i'm planning on spending:

Hotel: Three day stay, $150 per night: Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
Mania: Hoping to get seats in the 300's.. Defintely not going for obstructed view seats, i'm assuming the tickets in that section would cost anywhere from 100 to 500 dollars.
RAW: I'll be hoping to get fairly cheap tickets. I'm hoping to spend about $200 on tickets, that sounds about right?

Transportation: The Taxi fare from the hotel i'm looking at to both the Superdome and the Arena RAW will most likely be held at is only four dollars. I'll only use the taxi going to an from shows, and to and from the airport, so I'd say i'm only spending 20 dollars max on transportation.

Food: Just gonna eat fast food, nothing fancy. For three nights with three meals a day i'm assuming i'd spend about 70 dollars altogether on food.

So altogether my estimations on how much i'll be spending altogether:

Minimum: $900
Maximum: 1,240

For those of you that have been to Mania, does that sound about right or are my numbers totally off? No way it could be that cheap right?

You're in the ballpark though your ticket prices are a bit on the expensive side so you're likely going to save a little there (unless ticket prices skyrocket for both WM and Raw due to the XXX anniversary).

Here's what I spent (within $20 for each thing) for my past 3 'Manias. I'm a tad OCD when it comes to budgeting for a big trip, which is why I remember these amounts lol. Miscellaneous are things like parking and other stuff that doesn't fall into those categories.

WrestleMania 21 - Los Angeles
WM Ticket - $750 (10th row behind announcers facing entrance)
Souvenirs/miscellaneous - $50
Total Cost - $800

WrestleMania XXVI - Phoenix (Friday through Monday)
WM Ticket - $200 (section 221 of Phoenix Stadium)
WM Axxess (1 session)/souvenirs - $100
Hotel - $180 (3 nights, split w/friend)
Car rental/gas - $180 (4 day rental, split w/friend, drove from LA)
Food - $120 (2 diners, rest are fast food)
Miscellaneous - $20
Total Cost - $800

WrestleMania XXVIII - Miami (Thursday through Tuesday)
WM Ticket - $250 (far end risers facing stage)
WM Axxess/WWE HOF Ceremony - $100
Hotel - $250 (5 nights, split w/friend)
Airfare - $350 roundtrip
Car rental/gas - $220 (6 day rental, split w/friend)
Food - $180 (we went on a food network/travel channel trip during our stay)
Tourist stuff/Misc. - $100
Total Cost - $1450

I've been wanting to go to a Mania since 25 and I know they're gonna try and go all out for 30. Austin/Punk might be a possibility as well as Taker's last match, I definitely wanna be there for those moments.

Even if the show isn't all that great I still wanna be able to say I went to one. I'm for sure going to Post-Raw as I know that's gonna be great.

Probably will be going by myself, unless in between now and when the tickets going on sale I can get some friends together and go.

My plan at the moment is I wanna go to the HOF, Mania and Post-Raw. Axxess just sounds like a headache I don't need and something kids would enjoy more than I would. Plus I'm likely just to run into a wrestler or two on the streets.

I'll be flying from Cali and I already know I wanna stay at either the Holiday Inn or Hyatt Regency as they're within walking distance so cab rides won't be necessary. As for food I can just stick with fast food or snacks, I'm not a heavy eater to begin with.

So my plan is looking like this:
HOF
Mania
Post-Raw
Plane
Hotel
(Money for merchandise or souvenirs)
------------------

For those who have been to Mania I would love some advice on what to do (where to sit, package or no package, plane tickets, when to leave...things like that)
Since I've always wanted to visit New Orleans, I'm likely going to drop in on Thursday or even Wednesday so it gives me at least a day or two to do some sight-seeing and just enjoy what the city has to offer. Maybe catch a ROH or Dragon Gate show on Friday, do Axxess and HOF on Saturday, Mania on Sunday, Raw on Monday, then head back home on Tuesday.

No complaints from me on my last two Manias re:seating. I'm personally against packages since I could almost always find savings doing everything separately. Unless you want to get gold seats (like ringside), I'd just buy the tickets separately. Put websites like priceline, kayak, hotels.com,etc to good use. I was able to save $60/night through Priceline's "name your own price" deal when we went to Phoenix ($120 for Sheraton rather than $180). Was also able to save about $90 off my airfare last year simply by flying out of Ontario rather than LAX and arriving in Ft. Lauderdale rather than Miami.

I would also pass up the packages offered up by Priceline, etc because I've found that by mixing and matching different hotels, airlines, and rental car companies (if you choose) you could actually save more money than if you take their bundles. I know some people don't like the hassle of trying out various combinations but it's worth it for me especially if I could save upwards of a couple hundred dollars simply by doing your homework.

Be a bit liberal on your budget limits. I'd recommend budgeting a bit more than what you want to spend and then go under it. That way you'll come back home with extra money in your pocket. The worst thing is when you don't budget enough for a big trip and then find yourself in the red midway through the trip. It's happened to my friend when we made a trip up to San Francisco and I had to cover for him the last 2 days.

Here are the views from my seats.

WM XXVI (section 221) - my camera was completely zoomed out. The view is better than the picture would suggest.

WM XXVIII (far end risers)

They should really bring WrestleMania to Wembley arena in London (most logical choice). We pay thousands of pounds to go over to the US and then play a major part in one of the most epic WWE crowds ever. Of course we enjoy the experience but they should really help us out as part of the 'WWE Universe' *yet major things only occur in NA* - we deserve it more than anyone else, BY FAR (as a whole, the number of fans, involvement, etc).

The least they could so is SummerSlam or Survivor Series in the UK - SS is in November when they tour the UK anyway (I'm sure they could make the dates work). If they put on a good card and basically made it a mini-WM we would sell out Wembley arena (95,000 + fans easy with WWE's layout) easy and Europe could help. I wonder how many US fans would spend thousands and thousands of dollars coming over here? So what it fucks up the usual live time for the US, WHO GIVES A FUCKING SHIT, we'll MORE than make up for it, and it's the 'WWE Universe' for a reason. Besides, almost every show is to suit the US so they can deal with one major PPV not being on super ideal USA time. (Went on a mini-rage lol, I apologise, haha)

They should at least test the waters, if it were WM it would be 100x easier and better. Most of the fans that attend WM would have a far shorter and less expensive trip going to the UK. We would make it so awesome WWE would wanna return every year with a PPV.

Pretty awesome being so close. If I had a miracle, I would go again, but nah, gonna watch it on the screen. Maybe another time. I have no doubt that nobody should be disappointed by this one. Gonna be the big 30 and Taker should be set for a very historic final match I bet. Like someone said, I believe it was Idogbea, Vince should be going all out for this one.

Hope you all have fun.

I was planning on going but me and my friend who I was planning to go with changed our minds. We have a massive hunch that Wrestlemania XXXI will be at the Cowboys Stadium in Texas, and that is pretty much guaranteed to be the biggest crowd at a Wrestlemania ever. On top of that, we have a feeling that is when we are going to see CM Punk vs. Stone Cold at that show, because it will be in Austin's home state and the WWE will not want to put all their eggs in one basket with Mania XXX (Taker's sure-to-be final match, Rock/Brock and possibly something with HHH makes that a stacked card, should all that happen).

Now, being part of a 100,000 capacity crowd with Austin bidding farewell in his last ever match? Awesome. Plus, it gives us a year extra to save up which might make the trip a bit more fun. Hopefully, Taker would get inducted that year, too, so the Hall of Fame would be awesome. Of course, this is all just speculation but I think all that is more likely than it taking place next year.

I Would Love To Go Next Year But Still Far Too Young And Will Probably Wait A Couple Of Years And Go Then,But To Everyone Who Does Plan To Go This Year My Advice Is To Try And Get The Best Seats Possible And To Go To Everything You Possibly Can Because You Might Only Go The Once And You May Aswell Enjoy It While Your At It.

I had a great time this past weekend with everything I did... except for Wrestlemania. Seriously I didn't enjoy myself there at all and the whole night is just kind of a boring blur.

I had a discussion with my friend who went with me this year and brother and we said that we would have had just as much fun for a lot less money if we skipped Wrestlemania and went to WrestleConn and Raw instead.

I've been to 3 in a row and this was a lot less enjoyable than the last 2 that I went to.

So yeah we were all on board for going to WM 30 until we went to WM 29. Raw turned things around a bit but I still don't see us going unless they announce something huge before tickets go on sale.

I spent less than ÂŁ1500 all in, and that included going to the Knicks game on the Friday

Definitely considering next year, although with no direct flights from England it will be a lot of travelling
