Hey everyone I'm new here so forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this...
I've been reading a lot of rumors and speculation that Stone Cold Steve Austin will return for one final match at Wrestlemania 30. His ideal opponent in most people's eyes is CM Punk, which I can understand since their characters just go together so well. My question is though, how likely is it that this can actually happen? Is Austin even in the condition for another match?
Austin will always tease it but never actually deliver. And I sure as hell hope it doesn't happen. If Stone Cold wants to return to the ring, pick a better opponent.
I will never give up hope on this match. Its a match I want to see, all the casual fans want to see (which is 70% of the wwe audience), and about 15% out of 30% of the IWC want to see. I don't care what the haters/Rocky marks will say I will continue to support and defend this match. I never saw my favorite wwe superstar of all time wrestle live in person and it will be a dream come true for to see Austin live competing in the ring one more time
Have Austins return match in Dallas (cowboys stadium) also if Austin/punk did happen at WM 30 there's no way it'd be bigger than cena/taker and rock/brock. Austins return match should main event.
I doubt it, they may have a segment or two, but an actually match? I'll pass. Other than a few members of the IWC, a few Punk matches, it's not the huge money maker dream match that some are making it out to be.
To be honest, I have no interest in seeing this match. Not because I hate both guys but because it does nothing for me. It doesn't have a big-match feel to it at all. My opinion of course.

The storyline and promo's between the two would be fun and interesting. It would be cool to see Austin work another match again.
But, Austin hasn't wrestled for over a decade. It'll be worse than Rock/Punk at the RR this year. Much worse. The match between the two would be a huge letdown in my opinion.
If they want to have Austin involved, they'll probably have to do a tag match or a multi man match so Austin doesn't have to work a 20 minute match. I can see Austin working a one-on-one match again. Especially at his age. Sure, many people probably said the same thing for Bret, but his match HAD to happen, and it would have happened whether Bret returned in '05, or 2010. They had to put an end to the Bret/Vince rivalry. Austin/Punk however don't have nearly enough reason to fight other than one's straight-edge, and one drinks bear.
No. If Stone Cold comes back (which he shouldn't do; Wrestlemania XiX was the best ending he will ever get), then he has to fight Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, or John Cena.
CM Punk isn't worth it for Austin, as mean as that sounds (And I love CM Punk).
Again, Austin should remain retired from in-ring activity. A return will only hurt his legacy. It will be similar to when Michael Jordan returned to play for the Wizards.
I think it's unlikely to happen at WM 30. With Rock and Lesnar around Vince doesn't have any incentives to bring in Austin.
Austin always said if the circumstances are right. Translation. If the money is right. He's not settling for anything below Rock status and I don't see it happening.
Money makes things happen ok they give Austin an offer he cant refuse he will do it. And to all the haters out there who say it will hurt his legacy BULLSHIT. If Austin were to come back to compete it would be for 1 match and 1 match only thats it. A true once in a life time match. Just like the movie Rocky 6 he came out of retirement after all those years too see if he still has what it took for 1 more fight that will be the same story for Austin 1 match after all these years just 1 to see if still had what it took after all these years. Also all you on here are forgetting that that we the IWC is the minority of the WWE audience remember that. We are 30% of the audience while the other 70% are the casual fans. All 70% of the causal fans want to see the match and by being on this website it seems like half the IWC wants to see this match so theres 15% right there. So by my calculations about 85% of the wwe audience would love to see and buy into this match and only 15% of you don't. I wonder who Vince and HHH and Austin are gonna side with the majority. I truly believe in my heart that this match will happen and I will continue to support and defend Austin and this match until it happens. And when it does happen Austin is going to prove to the 15% of the audience who doesn't want to see this match wrong and all 15% of you on here are going to be saying DAM he did prove us wrong and thats the bottom line because we didn't give him a chance.
Nope. Outside of segments, I don't want to see this match at all. And, Austin would be behind whatever Brock, Taker, Rock, and Cena are doing anyways and I doubt that he'd want his return match to be the 3rd most important.
No, I don't think it's going to happen and I don't want it to happen. Stone Cold is way past his prime when it comes to being in the ring, so it would be a shit match. However, I wouldn't mind Austin maybe mentoring a young upcoming face to go up against Punk. This way, we could get Austin/Punk feud-quality promos without the crappy match.
Have you guys seen Austin lately? He looks to me to be in great shape. He doesn't look a day older, let alone 10 years older. He's the same age as the Undertaker, only he hasn't continued to take bumps for the last 11 years. Austin, much like Punk, is a perfectionist. If he was going to have one more match, I imagine we would commit a lot of his time and energy towards it and train his ass off. If he was facing Punk, those two would probably train for the match together for months prior to WM to make it one of the greatest matches of all time. They're both passionate, hard workers.
I just can't believe all the negativity in this thread and how many people doubt Austin because of his age. Many of the greats have wrestled well into their 50's and still delivered. I bet Austin can still put on a great match, especially if he knows its his last match and he can put all of his focus into making it into a brilliant body of work. He knows Punk is the perfect guy to do that with.
By the way, the Undertaker was 44 and 45 when he put on two amazing GOAT Wrestlemania matches with Shawn Michaels. Austin will only be 49 years old at WM30.
most of the dudes doubting Austin b/c of his age are Rock marks too which is hilarious given how awful he has been in the last two years. they still want to see his roided up can't go more than 5 minutes ass though. Austin/Punk would be great and even if Austin can't go like it's 2001 any longer, Punk would carry him to a fine match. it would easily be the most interesting thing they've done at WresleMania in a decade.
