Default WWE are trapping themselves in a corner.

This Wrestlemania and the last have been heavily focused on the part timers, and I did not know how they could top WM 28 in terms of star power but they have.
But sooner or later all of these part timers they throw in the main event will not want to or will not be able to do it any more and there will be a huge problem with making the main event exciting and having people want to buy it. Vince and the WWE are trapping themselves in a corner and it will end badly.

Example:
WM 27
The Rock hosting AND focus of main event. (Part timer)
Triple h vs The Undertaker (Part timers)
WM 28
Rock vs Cena (Rock is a part timer)
Triple h vs Undertaker (Again part timers)
I have mixed feelings on Jericho vs Punk as Jericho seems to leave quite a bit, although he stays in the WWE longer then other stars and actually shows up weekly.
WM 29
Rock vs Cena AGAIN (Rock is a part timer)
Tripe h vs Brock lesnar (BOTH are part timers)
Undertaker vs CM Punk (Undertaker is a part timer)
For WM 29 3/4 main events are filled with part timers.

Now if we look at this we can see that the amount of part timers is increasing each year for the main event and eventually there will be a drop off where none of the part timers will want to do it any more and the WWE will not have enough credible stars to fix this problem they are causing in the long run.

This is some fascinating analysis I have never thought of. Is Cena really a part-timer though? I would consider him more along the lines of full time with all that he does with the company. WWE is losing well built stars that get over in the ring.

What we need are guys like Fandango, Damien Sandow, and the rest to step it up. Otherwise, when the part timers retire (and they will), WWE will be SOL.

This how I look at it. WWE are in a transition phase, thats why we get these part timers. They somehow forgot to get new talent and push them right when they were suppose to, so now some are retiring and some are getting closer to retirement they have started to push young talent. The younger talent are far away to main event a big ppv on their own right now, so they get part timers to do that. Problem isnt wwe here, its us, fans. We dont want guys like Ziggler, Rhodes, Ryback etc at the main event scene. We would nerdrage all over the floor.

Sad thing is that they are building it short term. They dont want to go with just semi over guys at a ppv because that would mean a drop in ratings.
If they went for a long term they would build up the younger stars go with some drop in ratings for a while with ratings go higher when the younger stars got more over with the crowd.

He never said Cena was a part timer dummy.

They should heavily push Ryback right after WMXXX and have CENA/RYBACK at WM31. It would be like HOGAN/WARRIOR at WMVI.

The panicking over the long term future is laughable. The WWE is doing great at the moment, Wrestlemania 28 broke records, 27 was the most bought in years. Inevitably there'll be a drop off when these guys stop turning up but that's a price I'm sure the management of WWE is willing to pay, they're making money now while it's a near certainty these guys will draw, there'll worry about what happens at Wrestlemania 34 or w/e a few years from now. They have some good years, then some lean years while they build it back up, this isn't some tragedy it's just a fact of doing business.
