gambling on a rigged contest is risky business.. all it takes is one WWE employee leaking the planned finish for a match and you can get completely ripped off by bad odds, or in the case of tonight, the odds suddenly changing before the PPV because somebody leaked the Shield was winning.
I'd never trust anyone though. I'm just glad I covered myself. I thought if I put the Shield in my accumulator then the Super Friends would ruin it, on the other hand I knew if I put them in it they'd still ruin it by losing. So I whacked them in the accumulator AND bet on The Shield and now I STILL win. Pricks.
Up £10. Could've been about £300 if I went with my first instinct and put Shield to win in the accu but no way was I risking that.
Edit: Swagger was also my pick for the chamber, pffft I still feel like I've lost tonight.
shield was the pick from the beginning though, and if you didn't pick them late tonight u got great value on them(i got them at +350), so it works both ways. all i know is gotta go all in at mania on cena, unless for some reason it's a triple threat match with punk involved.
Congratulations to every one who picked up a few pennies tonight. I wish I joined in but didn't have any cash in my account. I probably would have lost it all anyway as I thought Henry and Team Sell No would win tonight.
How much you win? I was in two minds to put a fiver bet on, and they were the two I would have picked.
Random question, but on a match like Miz/Cesaro, I always find them way too risky. Miz could win without winning the title, which is the main reason why you feel safe better on a champion. We all have an inkling when they're about to drop it, but when they can retain by DQ do you ever feel really cheated?
Glad I ended putting on late bets on Swagger and Shield. Del Rio/Rock covered Henry losing. Ended up maxing out on The Shield and Team Cena during the show as SkyBet had the babyfaces above evens and Paddy Power had the heels above evens. Shame Paddy Power's max bet was only at £42.59. Still up £56 from the show. Shame Henry lost.
Everytime one of these threads come up people come and criticize people for betting on scripted event who clearly know absolutely nothing about the betting industry. Bookies aren't fools, the profit margins on these markets are a lot higher than the average market and I'm sure the max bet they would allow would be quite low comparatively. People are acting as if Vince could come along and put 100k on someone and clean up.
Also when then is such a big swing in odds it is most likely them just balancing their books because there has been a lot of people on on side. Especially in a niche, novelty market like this it would take a lot less money for a big swing in odds.
not in the case of the shield last night, the way those odds flipped, somebody had to be in 5dimes ear. anyway, that was the first time i gambled on wwe, and it made wrestling actually fun to watch again. i'm doing this regularly for now on, every ppv. let's bank on cena at mania.
I do it every pvp and I'd do it every show if I could. Skybet have done it for ages and they don't have strict max bets. It makes watching way more fun.
I stuck £10 on Swagger just before the show as compensation so I covered myself in the end
