I've never quite understood why over the last 6 months folks have suggested CM Punk will face Austin or Taker at Mania. Specifically on this forum (well it's the only one I use).

I mean I can't see where either feud will come from. I mean sure now that Brock is back and Cena will seemingly face The Rock, the potential opponents are falling but to wheel out Austin or 'Taker with no build-up seems unlikely.

I ask since you guys have previously got it right, you managed to work out Batista V 'Taker would happen at Mania, this was before Batista had the title or Taker had won the Rumble.

Having said that I've also seen Brock V Punk or 'Taker touted.

'Taker needs a match, if he is performing. CM Punk is the likely opponent, due to him being safe and able to produce a classic without gimmicks.

I suppose build-ups to fights are getting shorter but two months to WM and still no 'Taker yet?

I'd sooner see Brock put Punk truly over before he goes since long-term it makes sense, although HHH is suggested to fight Brock?

Taker V Brock would make sense as Brock needs "putting down" so Vince wheels out Taker. And they have history via UFC which may get buys from that crowd.

Brock! They could easily play Jackonary with Heymans involvement. Instead Brock is going down the route of having Vince bring out the heavies.

Austin won't be wrestling at Mania. Not this year anyway.

7 more episodes of Raw after Elimination Chamber until WM 29. But it also wouldn't surprise me if 'Taker decided to give it a miss. Partly because the only guy people will believe against him is Cena. Partly because of past heat with CM Punk.

Either way, they won't book Brock/'Taker. Too dangerous and Triple Ego has to come back from 'self doubt' and now Brock has got involved with his family making it personal.

Not sure what happens to Punk is 'Taker waits until the big one (i.e WM 30). A match with a celebrity? Chris Brown, Floyd Mayweather?
