Re: Official The Rock vs. John Cena Thread: Greatness vs. Redemption, TWICE IN A LIFE

Looking back, enjoyed their first segment this year, loved the video package with "Letters from the Sky" and loved their final segment on Raw a couple of weeks ago. This past week was a throw-away week and the weakest thus far of their build, but that's okay. Best build up overall for Mania this year imo and I'm looking forward to being there live in about 15 hours when the result is known and I'm with the crowd either celebrating with joy (Rock winning) or booing until my throat can't boo anymore (Cena winning). Will be awesome. This and Taker/Punk so far have made the money spent on tickets worth it. Let's hope the matches deliver.

And on Rock/Cena WM28, don't get the hate on it. Great match imo.

I'm watching you...

I'm worried about the match dragging on and I hope it isn't thirty minutes like last year. If they have a good pace, they only need twenty.

is that an arguement that you are raising?

Mod note: Do not put this shit back in your sig. If you do you'll be banned. No need for baiting here.

My note: Oh gee. Cant people stand up for themselves without mod support?

Agreed.

I rewatched it a couple days ago & it was great, lots of drama, great spots with the perfect finish & the crowd was awesome as well. Both Rock & Cena did a great job.

Enjoy the show btw.

Two things to look forward in this match:
-Will Cena turn heel?
-The crowds reaction to Cena and Rock.I expect the loudest reaction would be to John Cena.I expect Cena to booed like MITB.

Yeah 20-25 minutes is a good time for the match, I'm so glad they're not doing the whole extended entrances the way they did last year with MGK and Flo-Rida, that was totally awful and mis-placed.

Agree with everything. Rock/Cena at WM28 was the definition of what a big time main event should be IMO. With a sports type atmosphere of a hot crowd, dramatic nearfalls, great exchanges and building towards the ultimate reaction for the finish. Add to it that Rock/Cena interacting was a dream match for so many years that it felt more special. I also think that the booking of the spots was spot on, crossbody/leg drop, the STF/Sharpshooter, flying clothesline/shoulder block, etc. If they can top that tonight, will be even better. IIRC, it was Patterson who worked on the layout with Rock like they did when he was full time so it was nice to hear that.

Would love to hear a live report after the show. Knowing the main event of this year, I thought I wasn't watching the show at all, but they know their business and how to create buzz(even if not on the level of last year)and I'm waiting for the show. It's always like that with WM. So I'm giving Vince(and the performers)the credit that he deserves.

Prediction before the show? I go with two options, Rock winning again and dropping the title at ER, OR, Rock pinning Cena after a ref bump as an "out", and Cena winning clean with the AA.

I'll definitely post something when I get back, and go more in detail tomorrow after work.

As for prediction... honestly I don't know anymore with this match. One second I'm thinking Rock will win, the other I think Cena. I was certain Cena was winning before but since Rock has been confirmed for ER, it's just been up in the air. What stops me from totally thinking Rock is winning is that there would be no bigger place and time for Cena to beat Rock and win the WWE Title than at Wrestlemania. I'm certain that's what Vince thinks and that's pulling me towards Cena. But then again Rock winning the title is what would truly send the fans home happy... though I'd be happy with a Cena win if Cena ended up turning heel, which I'm not holding my breath on. Can't say the crowd would be though.

This match is very unpredictable unlike the other two big matches and that's what's making me look forward to it more.

I'm watching you...
