Re: Official The Rock vs. John Cena Thread: Greatness vs. Redemption, TWICE IN A LIFE

This will be an interesting weekend. WWE is at a cross roads here with the finish of this match. If Cena goes over clean, whereby he 'earns the Rocks respect', then it confirms that WWE has passed a threshold of serious trouble. The outcome will be fascinating. On the one hand, they *could* turn Cena heel and usher in a new era. On the other hand, it'll also be fascinating as to how stupid and inept this company actually is if they push the Super-Cena-Respect finish.

Because that type of fascinating does exist. Anyone who sat through the end of WCW knows what I mean - you just sit aghast at how baffling it is.

I seriously would be just as shocked if the match ends with Cena winning and Rock and him acting best of friends with a handshake and so on. They now how underwhelming that is to the millions of fans watching, most want Rock to win, a lot also would accept Cena winning with a turn, I think the worst they'll go is, a screwy finish with Cena winning without turning.

I don't foresee a respect + hugs though.

A screw job finish is on the cards, especially if they have another match at ER.

Fuck the hugging and kisses and shit...that is not an option.

If that might be the case then I'm going to keep a Vomit Bag handy during the Main Event, I'll need it if Cena and Rock handshake after their match. That ending would be a kick in the face to the fans, well and truly.

This may be Rock's last Mania, as he's not confirmed yet for WM30.Would love if WWE allow him to retain,as it's just a shame that the very best this industry has ever seen has never EVER retained at Mania

THE ROCK: The biggest star and draw of pro-wrestling industry EVER.

1. Holds the record of drawing most arenas with 10,000+ attendance on top in one calendar year. [Broke Hogan's(1986) and Austin's(1998) record in 1999 and set a record of headlining over 100 shows with 10,000 plus people in attendance in year 2000. A box-office drawing record that is unsurpassed till date.]

2. Holds the record of main-eventing almost 17 PPVs that have got over 500k buys. Over 80% of the PPVs he main-evented drew over 400k buys. As a PPV headliner no one is even close.

3. Drew the highest cable ratings during the AE(real quartely segments not over-run). Took ratings to heights never before seen in 2000.

4. Sold more merchandise than anyone active(Austin) between mid 1999-2001.

Re: Official The Rock vs. John Cena Thread: Greatness vs. Redemption, TWICE IN A LIFE

Honestly another sad fact about this match happening again is they actually made a decent docuementary of the feud last year.

WWE breaking that "Once In A Lifetime" slogan is why I have no interest in this match. I went to WM 28 last year saw the match I wanted and got the perfect finish. The only thing this rematch will accomplish is it cheapens WM 28. Plus the predictable Cena win makes it even worse and not worth watching. I know a lot of you are holding out hope for a heel turn for Cena but don't get your hope's up. Expect a cringe worthy moment of Rock shaking Cena's hand and hugging in the middle of the ring to close the show.

It's going to be a sad day for Rock fans worldwide. Such a waste of his return.
