Default Re: I'll Be Honest I Think Vince Is Gonna Let The Rock Go Over Cena Again At WM29.

Thinking about it, it wouldn't make sense for the Undertaker to retire undefeated. It wouldn't earn Vince any more money, whereas if the streak was stopped by someone, it would generate a lot of heat and money. I'd say that if the Undertaker is to appear at Wrestlemania 29, the streak will be ended by either CM Punk or Brock Lesnar. If that does happen, Taker will return again for a feud with whomever beat him to challenge that person and win at his final WM before he retires - Wrestlemania XXX (30).

From there he'd have lost once, caused a lot of heat and a massive talking point leading into his final Wrestlemania.

Taker is going to retire a very rich man with a great legacy regardless of an outcome of a wrestling match. I'm pretty certain he would put business ahead of sympathy as well.

I hate using wrestlers real names, but I don't see Mark Calloway wanting to retire with his streak intact. I can't see us as wrestling fans ever moving on to future Mania legacies if the streak never ended. You guys can't deny that Taker losing would be very historic. Why would you not want to see a moment like that? It's cool to see some of you "smarks" show your inner "markdom" that you had during your childhoods though.
I didn't say I wouldn't want to see Taker lose at Mania. Yeah it would be cool to see but so would Taker v Lesnar, Rock, or even Sting. I can live with either. I think it's cute though that you think that I'm marking out when it's clear that you're just a big Cena mark not that there's anything wrong with that. Replace Cena with Punk and you're gonna sing a different tune.

I think you drastically overrate how much of a rub Cena will get from his heel victory over Taker too. No question about it would be one of the biggest moments in WWE history but so was Austin's heel turn and that led to a heaping pile of nothing. Conversely Hogan turned in a tag match that he wasn't in and it's the greatest heel turn in wrestling history. How they market Cena will decide the impact of his heel turn.

Taker vs Lesnar= Predictable outcome. Taker vs Rock= Predictable outcome. Taker vs Sting= Predictable outcome and way too late. As far as CM Punk goes, yeah I would sing a different tune. You guys are putting Punk at a level that he has yet or will never reach. The buzz from a CM Punk victory over The Undertaker will die out quicker than a summer full of worked shoots.

Yeah, I am a big Cena mark (lol). But honest to God, I just don't see anyone else being a legit threat to Taker at this point. I could be wrong though, I am not that biased.

And yeah you are probably right, there are other ways for Cena to turn.

I could be wrong again, but I think Austin's turn failed due to the fact that his run did not last as long as Hogan's or Cena's. He also did not play the same character that Hogan and Cena did as well. Superman (and maybe Captain America) turning into a villain would be bigger than Batman or Spiderman doing the same. I think I'm saying it right.

Do you honestly think there will be alot of anticipation for a Taker match at WM after he already lost? So in other words, Taker vs Cena is not happening even though it would be bigger than a match against Punk or Brock.

Just because the finish is predictable doesn't mean it's not enjoyable. The streak has been enjoyable despite only a handful of times were you actually believed he might lose.

While I agree with you that Cena is the most logical choice to end the streak I do think you can make the case for Punk. Punk v Austin is a huge money match and giving him the rub of ending the streak enhances his heel character. You could also have Lesnar be the guy who actually costs Taker the match and set up a proper farewell for Taker. Very unlikely Austin wrestles again with Rock hanging around, and Cena is more committed to the industry than Punk is so I concede Cena is much better, logical and more profitable choice.

I think what separates Hogan's heel turn from Austin's was the NWO. One had a successful marketing campaign behind it and the other didn't. Well that and originality. Heel turns just lost their effect.

Default Twice In A Lifetime

John Cena will overcome the odds again to defeat The Rock for his 13th WWE Championship. He will redeem himself in front of the WWE Universe and finally overcome the worst year in his career. And, sadly, the announcers will try to shove it down your throat that Cena is The Rock's equal now.

And I could not care less. Knowing the outcome this time, where I didn't know it last time, pretty much ruins any possible excitement for this match for me. I'm far more interested to see where even Jack Swagger is going than what is going to be the main event of main events.

So it seems at Summerslam, Brock lesnar wants a piece of me... should I be afraid? I mean, the man ended the streak after all. But I've fought the odds time and time again... I will NEVER BACK DOWN and I will NEVER QUIT! At SummerSlam, if it's a fight that you want, it's a fight you gon' get! So Lesnar!!!! IF YOU WANT SOME COME GET SOME!!! You're all about eat, sleep, conquer the streak. But me, I'm all about HUSTLE LOYALTY AND RESPECT, JACK! So WWE universe, you can rest assured because the CHAMP IZ HEEEURRRR!!!

And we're gonna see the same terrible promos from last week. Kind of glad they're doing this feud again since I'll be saving money not ordering Cena beat an actor.
