It *really* isn't that big of a deal.

Re: The Rock vs Cena Promo

It was a good promo. People have been conditioned to think that something simply good is AMAZING! BRILLIANT! GREATEST ______ OF ALL TIME! Its not just in wrestling, its in all forms of entertainment.

One problem: Cena didn't sell the loss last year like he pretended he did in the promo. There was the unscripted post Extreme Rules promo he did, but then he came out the next night like that never happened. You can't pretend like you cared now dude, when everyone remembers you no selling the loss and grinning your way through everything. Cena talked about re-writing history, well he's already tried to do that.

Promo still wouldn't even make me think about making any type of an effort to watch WM.

Re: The Rock vs Cena Promo

The promo itself wasn't bad, just extremely one sided. Rock was intense and sold his half well, but Cena is completely unbelievable, because his whole angle is laughable. The loss to Rock sent him into a downward spiral supposedly, but it's not as though he ever acted as such. He just shrugged that loss off with little to no mention of it, went on to his feud with Lesnar, and went on his merry way. Horribly depressd and ruined inside and calling himself a failure, but still able to cut star wars promos, main event repeatedly without a clean loss, and win Superstar of the year. All without ONCE mentioning the loss or wanting a second chance.

Seriously, how can anyone actually buy his promo? It wasn't genuine in the least, there's no "redemption " to be had, and the whole thing just comes off as a half assed excuse for a blatant money grab ME.

It kind of is. Especially when he does it when his oppenent delivers his "knock-out blow" of the promo. If the other guy doesn't take it seriously, why should the crowd? He did it last year and it hurt last years feud, and he's doing it AGAIN, which is almost unfathomable to me.

I didn't think facial expressions could be such a big deal during promos until I read Jericho's book. Read it. It's a good read.

No, I didn't give it a second thought when I was watching the promo, it was still intense. Him smiling off an insult is typical, and lots of other wrestlers do it, and it's a natural reaction. He quickly segued it into building up his side of the story so it's not like him laughing in front of Rock's face and acting like a 2 year old and talking over him; now THAT is a problem. As long as he doesn't do something like that, it's okay.

Re: The Rock vs Cena Promo

I can understand people not liking the idea of Rock/Cena II, but can't see how anybody didn't like their promo tonight. Both were in top form, actually had me a little excited for the match.

Thats bull. Steve did exactly what he complained WCW did to him for all these years. They didnt see him as a big star or having any potential so he held everyone down who he didnt see worthy of facing him. Its why the main event scent was such shit in 1998 and 1999 and he faced Taker, Foley, Kane like a billion times.

Re: The Rock vs Cena Promo

I only like Rocks last bits of the promo, Cena was full of non-arguments and hype with no substance, and Rock pissed me off when he started kissing Cenas ass at the beginning of the promo. If it wasn't for Rock putting a ***** acting show near the end it would have been terrible.

Honestly, can please someone just let Rock be himself and destroy Cena? Wrestling is supposed to be a cutthroat business, and it's obvious Cena can't even handle himself even against him even with Rock kissing his ass. The feud feels fake as fuck thanks to that. At least Punk had one or the other rebuttal against him, and he was a heel so the promo work made a whole lot more of sense, but with Cena I just see a guy with weaker charisma and mic skills going against a more sympathetic, charismatic and better mic working star. While Punk was never going toe to toe in those departments with The Rock, he managed to hide them with his character, beeing a heel and could still put a great acting/mic skills out thanks to feeling in his element, with Cena I feel like I'm watching a poor mans Rock trying to go toe to toe with the real deal, simply makes no sense.

Marks for Austin Aries/D Bryan crew

Creams himself over Lesnars Entrance crew

Prefers watching wrestling intoxicated crew

Scott Steiner is the real GOAT crew

WF metal crew
