Re: I'll Be Honest I Think Vince Is Gonna Let The Rock Go Over Cena Again At WM29.
You should have known better than to think that anything big in the WWE WASN'T going to somehow result in Cena coming out on top with the WWE Championship in his hand and a smile on his face while thousands of fans boo.
That was pretty much Punk's 400+ day reign in a nutshell ; keep the title off Cena so that ROCK can win the title setting up Cena getting his win back @ Wrestlemania. It sucks that they do these things and I know it's extremely frustrating but we're just going to have to deal with it honestly.

If you think about it Rock's whole return is elevate Cena to legend status but the payoff for that won't come for years as the guy who will replace John Cena most likely doesn't even wrestle right now. But Vince wants him to be on a level he really can't reach at this point.

Re: I'll Be Honest I Think Vince Is Gonna Let The Rock Go Over Cena Again At WM29.
Well, the reason for ROCK's return was to make Vince a shit ton of money, but the secondary and creative reasoning for him coming back was to elevate Cena to the next level, who has become above literally 98 percent of the roster.
I mean, does anybody out there legitimately buy ANYBODY as a threat to Cena besides Punk at this point (due to Cena never beating him for a title) ? Since The Rock came back here have been Cena's feuds ;
vs MIZ
vs Truth
vs Punk
vs Del Rio
vs Kane
vs Rock
vs Brock
vs Laurinitis
vs Big Show
vs Punk
vs Ziggler
They can't do Punk/Cena on every PPV naturally so they had to bring in BROCK FUCKING LESNAR to give Cena an opponent that people actually buy. That's the level that Cena is on ATM. I mean, would anybody buy into a Cena vs Miz/Truth/Ziggler/Show/Kane/Del Rio match as of now ?

Maybe I read too much into to things but I believe Vince wants Cena to be viewed as the greatest ever no matter no one believes it or not and beating The Rock will be another notch in selling that point when you add up his accomplishments and what he does outside the ring.

Re: I'll Be Honest I Think Vince Is Gonna Let The Rock Go Over Cena Again At WM29.
Vince has been throwing around the "greatest ever" tagline to whoever can still make him money.
- Told Hogan in 2002 that he was going to make him the "Babe Ruth of Wrestling" , gave him the WWE Championship and put him on the Wrestlemania XIX poster
- Hogan fucked off in 2007, thus beginning the marketing for Stone Cold as the GOAT with merchandising, DVDs that claimed he was the most popular superstar ever.
- Steve can't wrestle thus meaning he can't really draw crowds or generate as much profit, so when HBK retired they put out a top 50 list with HBK number one.
- The Rock comes back , Vince realizes how much money he can make, markets Rock as the greatest ever.
If you're one of the true BIG NAMES in the business, Vince is going to use the "greatest ever" tag to generate more and more profit... So when Rock/Taker/GAME/BROCK are all gone there's going to be one "Living Legend/Greatest Ever" still standing and that's John Cena.

No one will buy that if he spends the rest of his career rising above hate. I can already see him getting booed at his own HOF induction or anytime he would show up on Raw.

Vince will buy it, and that's all that matters when it comes to his questionable decision making at times.

His Movie Premieres - Obviously expecting a lot of travelling from him. But all of those five movies coming out this year from him or such will be out by the end of July. Let's see the gap between the premieres: GI Joe comes out at the end of March and so is supposed to be advertised alongside WrestleMania in NYCity. Two months after that comes along Fast and Furious 6, which is well past Extreme Rules. Since premieres are about two weeks, at most we would have the Rock missing two shows in between WrestleMania and Extreme Rules, which implies he could attend both events. It does hinder events past Extreme Rules, which means Over the Limit and Money in the Bank.
His TV Show - I am well of aware of this "hero" show that was just announced, but the thing is that since this was just announced it is probably going to get into official set development by April as pre-prouduction development and planning is likely happening right now. So we can expect the show to start filming as soon as late April and as late as late May/early June. This does not count him out of Extreme Rules, though it does destroy Over the Limit.
Hercules - Obviously this movie may be the main reason people are saying the Rock will not be attending Extreme Rules. But the fact of the matter is that this movie was in talks to get approved for so long things like production, scripting/screenwriting are just starting now and won't be finished for about three months, after which principal photography and such. A film set in Greece about wars would also want the best weather, so you can expect August for the actual filming to start. This hinders Summerslam but not Extreme Rules and Over the Limit.
That is the Rock's schedule, I won't count him out of Extreme Rules, but anything after that, I would definately count him out of. Vince knows what is best for business and if he can get the Rock for Extreme Rules it would be great for business. I mean, while I personally am happy that there is a slim chance that the Rock can stay for at least one more event, I know Vince is exited. It builds up several Austin Aries and Steve Austin like stories for Vince, Cena going on a face-rampage through the year and even changing his character. When W30, Rocky comes back and they have a Rock-Austin III feud with Cena angered that he just cannot beat the Rock. I am opposed to that feud, but as I have said, Vince does what is best for business and there IS a slim chance that the Rock might stay.

I, Muhammad Yafiz Khan, said this. Now quit contemplating how bad Rock vs Cena II would be and actually consider as to whether or not the Rock will again disappear for eight months.

I'm MEH on it honestly, but that's going to happen. I'm going to assume that in 10 years that Rock and Cena will be mentioned as two of the greatest ever and the WWE will promote their epic trilogy of matches (YEP) as the greatest trilogy of matches ever.
