It wasn't enough that WWE trolled us on last Raw, they did it again at the Royal Rumble

Royal Rumble match, 8 men are in the ring fighting, the countdown for the next entrant begins, it's John Cena! Everybody stops fighting and they wait for Cena, Wade Barrett gives instructions to others, Cena enters and everybody is attacking him.
Why?
There was no special storyline with Cena prior to the Rumble like in 1998 with Stone Cold, there was no $100, 000 dollar bounty like in the Royal Rumble 1999, Cena is not a super heavyweight like Mark Henry or Big Daddy V or a giant like Khali or Big Show so the other guys had to form an alliance to throw him out (Sheamus and Wade Barrett who were during that time in the ring are actually bigger than him),
Cena is not part of a stable and the guys in the ring part of another stable so it would at least make sense like at the Rumble 2011 with Nexus vs Corre, Cena won only once in 6 Rumble matches he participated and was eliminated in his last two Rumble matches so he is not famous for dominating this type of match to be scared of him.
The only relevant thing he did is saying that he will win the Rumble match but so did Sheamus, Orton and the Prime Time Players. What was WWE thinking? They tried many times to present Cena as bigger than WWE but at the Rumble it was so obvious and the "marked man" nonsense was so random and pathetic.
