Default Sin Cara was a joke

I'm happy Sin Cara returned at the Rumble, I am a big fan of his. His WWE career hasn't had the best of starts but I am hoping he eventually gains some momentum... But this Rumble did NOTHING to help him at all.

The choice of number was all wrong. 29 can be big-ish deal and having Sin Cara come in at that stage was such an anticlimax for so many people, I could see that even though I love him. He had already revealed he was in the Rumble so the last 2 competitors were really predictable with Ryback still to come. I think a bigger pop was expected for him or something but he had no right to come in 29th, he is nowhere near over enough.

He is a new superstar, he needs pushing. He needs... something. I would love to see him paired with Ricardo Rodríguez somehow, maybe Ricardo could be drafted over away from Del Rio and look for a new guy to ring announce for and choose Sin Cara. This could help get him over a little bit more seen as he can't cut his own promos due to language barrier/non-talking gimmick.

But the way he came into this Rumble was a joke. He was forcefully shoved down our throats, coming out to more of a groan reaction than a cheer. Then there was the match itself. He ended up getting no eliminations and then he was humiliated by Ryback. I admit it was funny hearing JBL say "just jump out of the ring Sin Cara" but it made him look weak as hell and destroyed any credibility he would've had. He came out 29th and ended up being eliminated what, 24th or 26th? Why would they have him come out so late if the plan was to just have him chucked out, jobbing to Ryback?

They should've swapped him and Mysterio around. Give Sin Cara some ring time and let him actually look credible. Mysterio could've put Ryback over if this was the plan, he would've got a much better reaction coming in 29th and Sin Cara would not of been made to look so awful.

There were a lot of things I hated about this rumble, too many in actual fact, and this issue is not even close to being one of the biggest flaws of the night...

...but as a Sin Cara fan-girl thought I should bring this up. He's being pushed down our throats and still made to look weak as hell. He is going nowhere, might as well just go back to Mexico.

Where are people getting the idea that #29 is such a huge deal? It's never been that big, in fact from what I remember they usually have jobbers so that #30 is a big deal if anything. Just off the top of my head, Miz was #29 in 2007 just to job to Khali in 3 seconds and Brian Kendrick was 29 in 2009 just to do the same to HHH.

Maybe I was wrong saying 29th is a big deal but it's not just the number it was the match itself, if they're going to treat Sin Cara like a jobber that is what he is going to be. An early entrance into the match with a couple eliminations could've made him look like he didn't suck completely but this was not a very good return for him, burying him under Ryback then having Ryback bail out to Cena despite coming in 30th (I don't agree with Ryback being 30 either, but that's a different issue).

it's just that the Royal Rumble felt a bit empty, people were expecting big names for No.29 and No.30 (Specially with Undertaker, Triple h, Lesnar all returning soon, not to mention hyped returns of Shelton Benjamin and Carlito) So it was very disappointing when Sin Cara came out.

Exactly, and having him disappoint people in this way is not really a good idea if he is ever going to have any sort of credibility/momentum, it's a good way to have everybody turn against him though. If they toyed with the idea of him winning (although he should never, ever of won the match I think people would've actually got behind him if he was in the final 3 with Cena and Ryback, lol) it would've at least been more interesting and pushed him a little. Instead they made his entrance anti-climatic and gave him practically no ring time, having him job out to Ryback.

He should've just came in towards the middle of the match to keep his entrance relatively low key, let him do some acrobatic stuff and get an elimination or two then get eliminated himself. He wouldn't of come off nearly as worse off as he did and it would let him return with a decent crowd reaction.

He'll probably end up being a jokey face with a botch gimmick before being released which is a shame because he is really, really talented in the ring.

They should have used Sin Cara to eliminate Rey or the other way round to potentially start the feud that will lead to the Mania match that has been in the pipeline.

I think they said he was wrestling with Rey, I was under the impression that meant a tag match. I was going to say vs Rhodes Scholars but after them losing I'm not so sure because they deserve a longer title reign (unless they retained at WM). I don't think they could have a Mysterio/Cara feud because Sin Cara surely would have to be the heel and with his inability to cut promos this seems pretty counterproductive.

They keep wasting their time with him and nothing memorable has come of it.

Haha it was so awkward, I think people forgot about Sin Cara to the point that when his music hit people didn't recognise it straight away and thought it was another surprise entrant.
