I know, I was pissed with the lack of surprises, when Jericho came out, I was shocked, so I figured they had a few surprises for the Rumble, but it was a major let down, especially with the factt that they didn't have Carlito or Shelton
jericho coming out was awesome. that was enough for me i guess. maybe they could have had one more legend come out, but it was fine. the problem wasn't the lack of surprises, but how the end of the rumble played out. it was poorly done imo. no surprise cena involved in something poorly done either.
It was fine. We got a former WWE Champion/World Champion return (which I didn't see coming) and Goldust/The Godfather which were nice surprises. If the Rumble was full of old midcarders people would complain they were stealing the places off the current crop.
Stop taking the dirtsheets as gospel and then crying when they turn out to be bullshit.

Jericho's was all it needed. I think Jericho's entrance is the most out of nowhere surprise entrant in recent memory. Dirtsheets didn't even mention Chris Jericho when talking about surprise opponents, it just came out of nowhere. Goldust and The Godfather (after Barrett teasing it for however many years) were also nice surprises.
It was still a great Rumble match and the best in the past five years, IMO.
