Re: Rumble lacked surprises

I was okay with their being very few surprise returns. It was nice to see the roster and the young guys being the central point and making the match more naturally exciting. The last couple of years have had average Rumble matches where you're just sitting and waiting for the next surprise.

Plus the show didn't need to be sold on the potential surprise returns. Rock/Punk was the selling point.

Re: Rumble lacked surprises

Henry/Christian would've been nice but all in all it was a very good rumble match bar the final 3.

Marking out for:
-Orton, Ziggler, Christian, Punk
-MCMG, Kenny Omega
-CFC - Drogba, Zola, Gudjohnsen, Mata :'(
-Condit, Lytle, Serra, Hendo
-The Wire, Game of Thrones, Arrow, Parks & Rec,
-NYG - Eli, Strahan

On the Bandwagon of:
-Evolution, Ambrose, Rollins
-Weidman, Shad, Mendes, Chandler
-Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Brooklyn 9 9, Suits
-Fury, Froch, GGG, Frampton, Algieri
-LAC - CP3, Griffin

Re: Rumble lacked surprises

For the Rumble itself I really wanted Ziggler to win, all the times he went over the top only to save himself and it was looking good there for a while, but I guess WWE wants the bigger names in Wreatlemania. So now we get Cena and the Rock again and the Rock is champion. I hope they are setting up a Cena win a wrestlemania cause I think it is somewhat of an insult to all the guys who work day in and day out in WWE to have a part time star as champ.

Yet they had ADR win a Rumble, who at the time was not a big star, had no heat, and was in the middle of the card at WM.

Its more like WWE just dosen't see main event potential in Zigglar. Why haven't people understood this yet? Cena easily beat Zigglar like 3 times this year cleanly and people still think WWE give 2 fucks about Zigglar?

Cena set up the 2013 ladder. Zigglar's in the middle and he's on top. Therefore, no main event for Zigglar in 2013. After WM, Ryback will probably get a summer reign, then some guy we don't know, then WM 30.

Re: Rumble lacked surprises

Y2J was good enough for me and he got a massive massive pop.

Was really hoping for Ryback to be 29 and for 30 to be Taker or someone though. But that still would have sucked if John Cena won the whole thing. However Sin Cara at 29 was a massive let down.

Re: Rumble lacked surprises

Those 3 were enough for me, especially as of the many "spoilers" "inside sources" were pretending to know about, these were the 3 that to my knowledge never came up.

Jericho was also a really great surprise because unlike a lot of legends he never lost it (marked out for that remark as well) and was able to do "being a legend" with "wrestling a great match"

"Get up fools, this mah table now!"

Re: Rumble lacked surprises

Well, I prefer apperance of Jericho or Goldust over apperance of Duggan or Slaughter...

Re: Rumble lacked surprises

Jericho was a surprise entrant, nobody saw it coming, especially because the "confirmed" entries of Carlito and Benjamin Godfather and Goldust were usual small nostalgia trips and much better ones than the usual Duggan, Snuka shit who can't go anymore or are just plain annoying (Duggan). Christian would have been nice. Henry I get, because when he returns it'll be with a big impact. I was really hoping for Lesnar to enter and win the Rumble. Road Dogg was in it last year. Other than that the match itself was good, fast paced, good group of guys.
