Default Royal Rumble Crowd

They were really good for the all the matches other than rock/punk. There were a few chants but then a lot of the time the crowd would just go completely dead and it really killed what was actually a pretty decent match. Especially considering this was a match up as big as cena/punk mitb 2011 etc.

Arizona crowds aren't exactly amongst the best. They're a hit or miss.

The WWE messed up big time by having Punk/Rock follow the Rumble. It was similar to when Punk/Jericho followed HHH/Taker. That match itself was good, better than Rock/Cena but the energy level drained after the Rumble. Overall, the crowd was decent.

I'm not sure how well the chants came off on TV (I was there with my friend and his little bro). There were a few dueling "Boots 2 Asses/Knees 2 Faces" chants, some CM Punk chants, and some "Let's Go Rocky/Let's Go Punk" dueling chants as well. The match killed a bit of the crowd when the Rock was thrown to the outside one too many times it seems. The botched table spot didn't help at all. We were about to blow but it ended in a whimper. McMahon's appearance definitely livened up the crowd big time though.

It was a bit surprising to me that Cesaro and Barrett got bigger reactions than Ziggler. Jericho's entry was definitely a big pleasant surprise. The crowd erupted when his music hit. With the way the Rumble event turned out, Jericho was the best moment for me. I wouldn't have minded the Rock winning but the fact that Cena won the Rumble, it made me hate the Rock winning because I know Cena is going to win that belt at WrestleMania. Ugh.

I was there in person. In my opinion, people just didn't know who to go for (like myself). Going into the event I wanted CM Punk to walk out champ and continue the streak but at the same time, the attitude era kid in me wanted to see the Rock win the title for quite possibly one last time. the same sentiment seemed to be shared by a couple of other people I had conversations with on the walk to the arena from the parking lot and while waiting in line, and even by people I overheard talking about the match. I found myself watching most the match in silence because I just didn't know who to cheer for (even my girlfriend who was really into the entire event also felt the same way). the same people (like myself) who were cheering for Punk when his music hit and during the match were cheering for the Rock right after.

I wanted Punk to win last night but there's no way I'd be able to not cheer The Rock if I was there live!
