Re: Rate Royal Rumble 2013

7.5/10 so I rounded up to 8.

WHC match = 7.2/10
Tag match = 6.7/10
Rumble match = 8/10. Had they taken out PTP and Khali and added 3 returns as well as having it be unpredictable, it would have been great
Rock vs Punk = 7.8/10

It's Summer Time

I rather have Jericho not in the WHC match because if he is then i will be pissed cause then he could have won the rumble

On top of that, you called up Bo Dallas, one of the worst overall wrestlers I've ever seen, and not only debut him, but you have him eliminate Barrett. Chalk up another argument for the "Vince hates the English" arsenal I have. It's not even worth complaining about, because Barrett's future is so far gone that it's barely worth even bringing up at this point, but it IS a bad point of the show regardless, so it needs mention.

Then you have this INCREDIBLY STUPID segment between Kane and Daniel Bryan, and whoever approved this should immediately be fired. Out of a cannon into the sun. And I know full well I'm an idiot for being THIS bothered by something so miniscule, but fuck it, it's rant time.

Let me preface this by saying, the segment is only stupid in hindsight, once you get to the Rumble. The segment itself, had they booked them in the Rumble right, would've been fine. And I admit I laughed at the "you show me yours, I'll show you mine" back and forth. So Kane and Bryan look at their numbers, and Bryan has this look on his face, like he just got the worst news ever. He looked like he found out he has AIDS, and Kane is smirking. So Kane won't show him his number, and Bryan is upset, and Bryan says "see you out there", and Kane goes "HIGHLY unlikely". So we're supposed to take away from this, presumably that Bryan got #2 and Kane got #30. It didn't have to be, it could've been Bryan got like #4 and Kane got like #27 or something, who cares. So in the Rumble, Bryan gets #21 and Kane gets #24. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE POINT OF THAT SEGMENT THEN? 21 IS A BAD NUMBER? TWENTY ONE? ARE YOU SERIOUS? 21 is a GREAT number, you're in the last 9 entrants, you're late. And then Kane comes out at 24. He was TWO spots between Bryan. TWO. Highly unlikely they'll see each other in the Rumble? They practically came in together! UGHH. I don't even want to think about it, this is gonna hurt my head. Fire that person.

The only reason this PPV gets a grade at ALL is because Ryback didn't win, which would've been even worse than Cena, and Del Rio is at least still WHC and not Big Show.

I'll admit that Bo Dallas eliminating Barrett was complete BS. I think they did it to set up an IC title run for Bo. Hopefully that means they will eventually put Barrett into the main event scene once Bo takes the strap off him.

Thank You, Bryan! 2009-2016
I believe our anger for the current product stems from the idea that it has so much potential and it's not living up to it. The reason we keep watching is to one day see if it will reach that potential or a level near it. We don't necessarily want the Attitude Era to return, but we want the excitement and the crave to watch more and the need to see what happens next which the Attitude Era brought us.

Re: Rate Royal Rumble 2013

I give it a 6/10

Cena winning completely killed it for me. And im not a Cena hater like a lot of people I just really didnít want to see him win. The WHC match was ok, but I just hate Big Show matches in general.

The Rumble match itself was disappointing. Jericho was the highlight of course but I really wished Shelton Benjamin and Carlito wouldíve came out.

Rock winning was predictable once Cena won. Im ok with him winning the title because now Punk can go on to a program with Taker hopefully.

Re: Rate Royal Rumble 2013

I'll give it a 5/10. I was entertained the for the most part with the execution, but some things just fell really short. My thoughts overall:

Del Rio/Big Show was terrible. Outside of the big chokeslam through the table, it was a fucking joke. The fact that WWE pulled out the duct tape AGAIN, let alone by a babyface...AGAIN...just makes me face palm so hard. Del Rio needed a nice victory to keep cementing him as a "man of the people" now, and duct tape was NOT the correct route to take.

Tag titles match was really well done. Great pace, some nice sequences and it told a good story. Sandow and Rhodes played the match smart, as you would expect from their team in kayfabe, and Kane and Bryan showed their ability to funtion as a fluid team with out all the yes/no back and forth. Was very pleased with it.

Speaking of Kane and Daniel Bryan though, the backstage segment with them discussing their entrant numbers made NO sense. None. I have no idea what the point of that was seeings as they entered 3 spots apart. That TV time should have been given to a Punk promo in the locker room. Rock got one before the match, Punk should have had one earlier in the night.

The Rumble match itself was pretty good overall. I loved the package of superstars making their claims to win the Rumble before the match started. I knew Cena was winning, so I wasn't surprised or disappointed with the outcome. While the match was good, the predictability of it knocks it down a rung in my book though. How WWE got to that point though, I thought was well done. Jericho's return was fucking sweet and blew the roof off the arena. Goldust also was a nice surprise - liked the whole thing with Cody. Both Jericho and Ziggler had strong showings. The final three being Sheamus, Ryback and Cena was predictable, but served its purpose. I think keeping Ziggler instead of Sheamus at that point though would have had kept the crowd really hot. The crowd was not nearly as amped up for the final 3 guys as it should be. Oh, and Barrett being elimination by Bo Dallas....what the fuck.

The WWE Title match was done well and had the crowd on their feet the whole time. There were some really nice spots and I thought Punk and Rock worked pretty well together. The psychology of the match up until the Shield interference was done very well. But I'm not sure how I felt about the lights going out and the Shield making the attack in the pitch black. I mean...I get it, but it seemed like a cop out by the creative team for a way to get them involved. Rock saying he wanted to match restarted instead of Punk stripped was a very babyface thing to do and good way to get the crowd fired up again. After the Shield attack in the dark, I really thought Rock should have kicked out to keep the fans guessing what would happen next. Even if he kicked out and then Punk got him up for a GTS and pinned him, I think it just would have been a little bit less predictable. The crowd's reaction basically said it all as they were just kind of confused and didn't know how to cheer.

To me there was more intrigue to the WWE Title picture if Punk retained last night, because at that point, it would look like things were Punk/Cena for the title at Mania. The eventual Rock win at Elimination Chamber would change things up...but that added angle to the whole thing would have been nice and given Punk one last nice hurrah to the epic title reign he had.

Rock's win was expected as was Cena's, so while the execution of all the matches was pretty good, the outcomes left little to the imagination. I did think for a split second during the main event that they might keep the belt on Punk until Elimination Chamber, but it just wasn't meant to be. Basically it comes down to this: Cena hasn't gotten his win over Rock yet, so Punk definitely wasn't getting his.

Blood. Urine. Vomit.

3 matches on a BIG 4 PPV is abysmal. Stop defending it. The Rumble match fucking SUCKED (even if Cena didnt win, it was poorly booked, and not b/c Ziggler lost).

The WHC match was mediocre, at best. The Tag Match never really got going, it seemed very broken up, with no real flow, and the WWE title match was over-booked. To say "o, any other match would be filler" is horse shit. There are other feuds they could have furthered aside from the 3 they went with last night. Give us a shorter rumble, and add another 2 matches to the card.

Re: Rate Royal Rumble 2013

I give it a 7 out of 10. I was entertained through out. I thought the Rock vs Punk was mediocre at best, but I was invested in the Rock winning and Im happy that he did. I could care less about Cena winning, but the right guy won in both cases. They could have squeezed the U.S title match on the card, but if I was entertained and had a good time, the WWE did their job.

Re: Rate Royal Rumble 2013

Started out very high and just went downhill from mid-rumble. Was like a countdown for me, 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-Cena-0-0-0-fuckit, PunkRock, restart at 5-4-3-SHIELD-9-vince-6-elbow-5 done 5/10

I was initially really fuckin happy with this PPV, but it follows the recent trend of WWE/TNA of PPVs delivering in the beginning and fucking things up bigtime in the second half

Re: Rate Royal Rumble 2013

Turrible from top to bottom. Del Rio is losing any edge - his syrupy pap backstage with Bret was groan worthy.

Rhodes Scholars losing, Cena winning, Rock winning and Godfather used instead of Papa Shango - top to bottom shit.
