Why does everyone love the Benoit/Eddie celebration so much?

Simply Put, they were two of the best talents to ever grace the squared circle, wrestled everywhere, came through the business together, put on great matches time and time again, were well respected by both fans and peers alike but never caught a break in a business full of giants and then finally they pulled the triggered on them both at the same time and it all culminated at WM XX and what we saw was real emotion of they finally did it after so long and that all the sacrifices were worth it, also came after a really great match, the internet smarks got their way and no-one was gonna deny them. So I'd call that a moment, nothing short of a miracle in wrestling.

The post above me has already said it but I'll give it my own explanation.

Benoit and Eddie are two best friends who traveled all over the world and improved their wrestling skills. Then they continued in WCW where backstage politics and bias towards bigger sized wrestlers held them down to a point that they decided to leave WCW together and come to WWF/E. Even there, Vince has always preferred his muscular Hulk Hogan type of superstars over average sized guys (Shawn Michaels pretty much an exception). But when the time came, these two broke through any barricades and made it to the top. The pay off was that beautiful celebration together. I don't think anything will ever top that when it comes Wrestlemania moments. Also unintentionally, the moment becomes even more emotional knowing that both men are deceased now. It's like they were destined to be together wherever it was. Two men with the same passion that worked their ass off for decades to have that career defining celebration.

I remember marking the fuck out for the Wrestlemania 20 main event. As a fan that was probably the most I ever enjoyed a match that I wasn't in the arena for.

I'm totally biased towards the last two Manias because I was at them both. Undertaker kicking out of the Tombstone and then locking in Hell's Gate was something that I will never forget. I someone how was fooled into thinking that Undertaker was going to lose and then he pulled off the win out of nowhere. That was an amazing moment to be part of.

Last year had two amazing moment for me. The first being Undertaker kicking out of the SCM/Pedigree combo and the other being when the Rock picked up the win against Cena. Both were huge markout moments for me and really define the whole Wrestlemania experience for me.


Now I don't want to sound like someone that doesn't appreciate the older stuff but I can't say anything before WM 14 because that was the first one that I ordered. Yeah there were some incredible moments on those shows but I only saw them years after they had already happened so it's not the same.
