A WrestleMania / King of the Ring suggestion!
 

At wrestlemania when they had brand supremacy matches, such as Batista and Umaga at WM24, they should implement that again and have the winner of it be King Of The Ring, because that's basically what brand supremacy kind of means, you're the best of the brand beating the best of the other brand to be champ!

The idea lacks a lot of details. How would you define who's the best member of each brand? Are you going to have a KOTR tournament for each brand on tv leading to a final at Mania? I think something like that would be essential to your plan because otherwise it's hard to define the best members of each brand, although it must be said that the world champions of each show would usually fulfill those roles. Obviously those guys would already be occupied.

With a bit of development you could have a decent idea on your hands. The KOTR tournament was an excellent way of getting many wrestlers over in the 90's and early 2000's. It's fair to say that a stand alone pay per view would struggle to garner fan interest, especially with WWE's modern lazy booking, but a tournament final could add something extra to WrestleMania on a yearly basis.

So would you have a tournament or just a one off match? Regardless, it's a bit pointless to make a thread saying you have an idea without going into full details of what you would do. Why not give us a scenario for how you would get to this match? I'm just trying to help the thread by encouraging you to produce some worthwhile content, lol. No offence.

They should bring King of the Ring back as a pay-per-view, it's too important to be in a single match. This is one area of the product where "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I thibk he didnt go into detail because we all pretty much underdtood what he meant.

I think that idea would be cool. You could add story like maybe tye GM on the other brand is trying to make sure a certain wrestler advances in the tourny.

Nah son, 'underdtanding' and assuming are two different things altogether. It's also hard to define what others "thibk" when the thread has such little activity. Op never stated whether he wanted a tournament or not, he just said that a "brand supremacy match" with the winner being crowned "king of the ring" would be a good idea, so basically just a brand supremacy match which is nothing new at all. "Well yeah, obviously there would be build up like any other 'mania match" doesn't imply that there would be a tournament at all, just a one off match with some build up. This thread might as well have been retitled "should they bring back the brand supremacy match?"

I like your idea which is basically all I was asking the op to produce, aka some basic creative input into a thread that would have otherwise been useless. Obviously there would have to be some extra incentive for "tye GM" who would eventually win because bragging rights alone is a bit of a weak motivation point, even more so now that the brand split is much harder to define.

Alright then BLACKANDRE, I see you.

We have a tournament or we do something where the person who had held the WWE/World Heavyweight Title the longest since the last KOTR would go into the match, if it is the current champion then the next in line or something. This could be a cool idea.

I didn't go into much detail because BLACKANDRE check your rep and I did sort of think you guys knew I meant there would be buildup.

I think bringing back King of The Ring would be good. Even more so if the final is at Mania. Every match at Mania should have a meaning behind them. Of course, the other option is having it as something to run in the Autumn when the business suffers a dip.

King Of The Ring is the second best ppv in my eyes after wrestlemaina
it builds up Wrestlers and it mean's Road To Summerslam starts before King Of The Ring
