Re: Most Disappointing WrestleMania Match Of All Time?
People saying Taker/HHH or Rock/Cena have some pretty fucked-up standards. You'd actually say those were the most DISAPPOINTING matches in Mania history? Ri-fucking-diculous!
Lesnar/Goldberg comes to mind, but I'd honestly say HHH/Orton for me. It didn't help that Taker/HBK stole the show and eclipsed EVERYTHING that came after it, but just the way the match was booked from start to finish was disappointing and left me with a feeling of "That's it?". Wrong guy won, should've been more violent, a run-in would've amped up the drama, pretty much all of that applies to HHH/Orton at Mania 25.
Honorary mention to Cena/Batista. Yeah, one should never expect anything resembling a classic from those two, but for all its build-up I just felt like it was Lesnar/Goldberg 2.0.
"They will LIE to you, she said. They will try to DENOUNCE you, she said. They will try to STEAL your gift, and she was right. Sister Abigail always spoke the truth, and so do I. So when I tell you that I knew this day would come, I am NOT telling you a lie! And on this day, in this moment in time right now, this very second, I can truly say that I have the whole damn world in my hands!"
