Re: Anyone else have a problem with wwe NOT building the rumble match?
Or how the McMahons wanted Shawn Michaels eliminated... I believe they had a tag team hunting him, and Shelton Benjamin. I think they guaranteed that whoever eliminated him would earn a title shot at the next pay per view. Yeah I miss those stipulations.

Yeah a bounty would be great. Ziggler or AJ offers the first shot at the WHC after Ziggler cashes in in exchange for someone eliminating Cena. Could set up a heel turn for a face that eliminates him or depending on the crowd reaction they might get behind them as a face.

Totally disappointed about this.
I agree.. the WWE could definitely use more buildup for the Royal Rumble
but right now The Rock vs CM Punk is such a hot draw it's overshadowing everything
throw in the surprising draw ADR's getting and that right there dwarfs, as funny as it may seem, the actual royal rumble
more buildup from the WWE would be nice.. start featuring who is in the rumble/etc, cut promo's by these people, etc..
as it stands.. the Royal Rumble is THIRD in its impact which i find funny as hell

Re: Anyone else have a problem with WWE NOT building the Rumble match?
No because the Royal Rumble has become "the winner goes through 29 other men to be opening match at Wrestlemania". Royal Rumble match has never meant less in the history of the WWE. In most cases, even if they won Rumble and wasn't the main event they would be mid show or close to main event.

Re: Anyone else have a problem with WWE NOT building the Rumble match?
Don't worry. We will get the usual 'everyone in the ring at the end of Raw to build the Rumble match'
Although I suppose with The Rock being back and being in a match for the title for the first time in over 10 years, that is the main focal point of the show, despite the name of the PPV being "The Royal Rumble".
Re: Anyone else have a problem with WWE NOT building the Rumble match?
It's a huge problem.
But then again, that is just how WWE does business these days. They don't seem to understand the need to promote things anymore. Just look at the Rock for instance - they have done a terrible job of plugging the shows he is going to be on, the week prior. It's as if they just assume that people know and should just know that this movie star (WHO IS NOT NORMALLY ON THE SHOW) will just be there.
With the Rumble, it's as if WWE gets lazy and thinks the name just sells itself. Just because it's an annual event, doesn't mean you don't treat it like it's a big deal. It's a HUGE deal, and basically all segments on the show, at whatever level of the card, should have to do with building towards it. Instead Raw just feels like the more canned shit we get week in and week out.
